While the people are nice they do sell expired pet food. In October I noticed expired cans of the food my cat eats as well as some getting ready to expire. I took the expired cans to the register & let them know & when I came back in like 2 weeks, they’d all be put back but were mixed in. I have even given the cans to different associates to give them a heads up but by December there were quite a few expired ones that were just there.In the new year I’ve gone to get my cat some food & there’s cans from October & November of 2023 that were mixed in with a new box :(. Which, frankly is pretty ghetto of a chain pet store. I finally took pics & decided to just put them on a review since petsmart sells expired food to its costumers - especially this desert ridge location -please, always check the dates. I promise you after months, all they do is shove the food back on the shelf.

Most comprehensive PetSmart around the area. None of the other PetSmarts in the 20min. radius has pine litter.

I have been taking my dog to dog training for about a month and a half and could not recommend it enough. We have been learning so much and her obedience is getting better and better. Our instructor, Jetta, is wonderful I keep telling all my friends and family about our classes and how impactful they are. The rest of the staff this Petsmart are also very welcoming and helpful even when it’s not convenient for them. I have not done the dog grooming or vet but I plan to schedule appointments.

We enjoyed visiting here! We viewed the fish, birds, and dog grooming center. Our favorite part of the visit was the kittens. One particular kitten (Lucky Charm) took to my son right off the bat! They played through the glass and that kitten followed his every move. Of course they wanted to take him home that day, but our focus and goal was not to purchase a cat. I'd love to add to our family... one day soon enough.The staff were very friendly and willing to help with any questions we had so I'm excited about the nice people weve encoutered thus far! 5 stars for the friendly customer service!

They carry everything for your pet and also have pets for sale: cats, hamsters, fish etc. They have a pet hospital at the store as well.

I can’t even begin to tell you the thankfulness and gratitude I have for Dr. Gross and Dr. Bessemer. Just the other day we lost our dear Dixie to untreatable kidney disease. In the process of making the most difficult decision. We called to talk to Dr. Gross about what was happening so fast with Dixie. We were unable to reach her as she was going out of town for the weekend. The technicians Samantha Stephanie and Veronica were so kind to us in the meantime filling in the gap trying to comfort us and get us connected with another doctor in the meantime. Within an hour Dr. Bessemer would call us going over all of Dixie’s blood test results and possibilities and options we would have although limited. She was so thoughtful and considerate of our situation. If need be she was willing to see Dixie in a moments notice. Within an hour Dixie would take a turn for the worst. At that moment I made the toughest of decisions any pet owner has to make. Amazingly as all this was going on Dr. Gross was leaving me messages on my voicemail reaching out to us From the airport on her very own personal time to just make sure if there wasnt anything she could do and that she was available for me to call her back. (Of course you may understand she can always do this but she did this in the special situation) Dr. Gross thank you. Dr Bessemer thank you for your kind words that day that difficult day thank you for your knowledge thank you for all of your suggestions thank you for your compassion. Usually we talk to Veronica when we called to schedule appointments and she loves Dixie so much almost as if it were her own dog thank you Veronica and thank you Stephanie and especially Samantha who connected me to Dr. Bessemer that day and was also so kind and compassionate and considerate. Today we honor and celebrate Dixie’s life along with our amazing team at petsmart TATUM. If you’re trying to consider a pet hospital for your animals you don’t have to look any further if you’re reading this post make the appointment trust me this is the best place in Phoenix we looked everywhere and we were lucky to find this place. RIP DIXIE.

Upon checking out, cashier recommended a puppy coupon book. If you have a new puppy I highly recommend getting it. It was $20 but already broke even with the few coupons I used.

I called Pet Smart when my elderly cat died in my arms. They told me to come in right away to confirm that it was for sure. It was confirmed. They gave me all the time I needed to spend with my beloved deceased cat. They took care of everything. The Dr. and staff were outstanding in this situation. I was grateful in this unfortunate situation.that they showed compassion at this very difficult time.

I’ve been bringing my dog to this groomer for about a year. They’ve all done decent with Zoey, however, we prefer Ciona. Today 7/29 around 12:30p, I walked in to schedule an appointment for my baby and witnessed something so disturbing. I witnessed the groomer in the front half of the store, a Caucasian woman with a ponytail, yank someone’s ShihTzhu to get them to cooperate! She was tying to grind their nails and the dog did not enjoy it, but the dog was not overreacting. Well I guess she lost her patience and thus, the dog suffered. I did not ask her name because I did not want to make her co-worker speak on it, but I did inform her co-worker to never let that woman touch Zoey.

Although I know a tortious will not immediately die from being on its back, I'm sure it is quite stressful for the creature while it waited for help. When my husband and I were in the store we saw this lil guy and told the cashier. We decided to wait to make sure a rep came and flipped him. We waited 20 min. .. an announcement was heard from a rep requesting help at the taurium section....no one came. my husband had to seek out a rep which finally help. disappointed there was no urgency to help a distressed animal in their care. 😐

They always have great sales. I look for them a lot. Always friendly and helpful. I use the groomer for my dog. They try their best for a doggie who doesn't like loud noises and to be groomed. They always take my suggestions and use them.

Very disappointed with my first experience with this location. My dog had an appointment at 4:00 for a full bath and haircut, when we arrived Amber helped me, she was rude from the beginning, unfriendly, and seem to be overwhelmed, she started to check my dog's fur and we agreed he had some knots and she will shave him. I told her she was allowed to do wherever she needed to do. At the time to let my dog she let me know she will charge me 10 dollars for each extra 10 minutes she may spend cutting my dog's hair, I was surprised because I’m a frequent client for the last 2 years and I’ve never been charged anything extra or even knowing they may charge extra, and I let her know about that, again I got her rolling eyes and bad attitude and she just told me, it will take me time and my time worth money, when you book online they specify they may take 3-4 hrs with this service, how I'm supposed to know how long she took to shave my dog to charge me extra 10 dollars every 10 minutes??? They charge 62.00 on weekends. When I arrived there was a client and they let him know about the same extras fees. They are taking advantage of clients.Now I understand why is the only PetSmart location that has appointments available for the same day. I will never come back and I let everyone know so they don’t bring their pets here.We are paying for good customer service and fair prices.Amber from grooming should be in the back of the house.

Great store if you're looking to adopt a dog, cat, bird, hamster, guinea pig, snake, lizard or fish. They also have crickets and meal worms that are "ALIVE" for feeding other animals. It wasn't very crowded and the staff was friendly and helpful. My only issue is their prices are a bit high.

i have bought all of my animals supplies from this store, every time, there is about a 90% chance someone will be rude or dismissive. i went in to buy Fish with my partner ( we happen to look younger but both of us are over 30 years old). we were told by a staff member we should not buy an angel fish because they get aggressive. i told her they should change the little facts list about them because on the angel fish card it says it is peaceful. then i was questioned about how large of a tank i have , how many fish i had, about 21 questions, all insinuating that i wouldnt be a good home for these fish. the first person who came to help me left so i called another once i decided to purchase a black tail tetra. this was the manager Victoria, she normally helps out but is consistently unfriendly. Victoria asked me the same questions the first staff did, and once i answered them she said " thats funny because you told this other staff something else". not professional at all. its none of their business if i have 1 , 2 or 50 fish tanks at home. She reluctantly bagged the fish and we took it to the register. At the register was the first employee and was being extremely rude to me. she rolled her eyes when i said i have a phone number to use for points. i was holding the fish tank when the lady at the register PHYSICALLY GRABBED the bag of fish out of my hands. she cut my skin with her nails in the process. i was outraged and called the manager ( who was victoria) and she told me she is sorry for her coworker. i was not upset about Victoria, but the other employee needs a mental health check. it is absolutlely not okay to touch someone who is a loyal customer. i called corporate and filed a formal complaint and the GM of petsmart called ( sean) who was very nice and apologetic. He rectified the situation and made me feel like i was heard and would do an investigation with his team members. Not sure i will ever go back to this store after being assaulted by their staff.

Do NOT buy the fish there! I got a frog and a gourami from the fish section…. The frog it doing okay but the gourami had ick! The ick spread and killed two of my other fish and just today the gourami died. I’m not very happy because the fish that it killed were very expensive.

We were interested in a snake they had but would not let us touch/handle it. Who would buy a snake without handling it. Not to mention they were rude about it. Don't recommend buying animals here. The tank was dirty and the snakes were stressed out. Take your business somewhere else. They shouldn't be allowed to sell animals. They don't know what they are doing

Cashiers don’t know how to work the registers in order to get cash back on a debit card. Telling them before the transaction takes place doesn’t even help. Which is exactly what I did!I had to buy additional merchandise to get cash back. Also the checkout lines are way too long for people spending money in that store when you do go to buy something!

The vet and other staff was very nice to us when we had to put our aged cat down. It took what I thought was quite awhile to get through the paperwork and pre-arrangements but everyone was nice, the facilities we're clean and in good shape, and the cost seemed very reasonable to me.

The store is great. The grooming salon is terrible. They made me and my dog wait for over 20minutes. Not one girl in there smiled and greeted me. They treated me and my dog like we are a big inconvenience. And they didn't even document his vaccines correctly. They're really terrible. And I will never come here again. I'm seriously disappointed and expect better customer service. When your dog is due for a vaccine, you people need to let the owner know before making their dog walk across hot pavement in 110 degrees. Don't come here. They're nasty!

Amazing and very helpful staff even pet parents. We saw they do dog adoptions and they helped us with locating where there dogs come from and other pet adoption places.Bonus they always have our dogs favorite food Authority big bag for my other dogs. I trusted this brand for 8 yrs now and my dogs are like spring chickens on the senior authority brand. Energy like young pups.

The store and staff are really good and helpful but the main reason for my visit was at the Banfield clinic. They are absolutely great. From Veronica at the desk, to the wonderful vet tech (sorry I forget her name), the staff is the best. To top it all off, Dr. Cotter is just outstanding. Great care, compassionate, and will take the time to explain everything. I can't say enough good things about her. Your pet is in good hands if you go there.
