There were dozens of dead fish mostly eaten when I went here on Feb 18th. For a store that claims to care for the well being of animals it is incredibly concerning. I get it fish die when they are over stressed but the sheer number and the state they were in showed the fish had been dead for quite awhile. This is incredible disappointing and i would not trust any fish I get here to live without a hefty quarantine due to potential illness.

I will say this petco vet clinic is very nice and well kept. Only reason for 4 stars is the vet didn’t really seem engaged and very distant. Her tech also was kinda rude when I opt out to not getting heart test at the moment . I had general questions and she seemed like off put I actually had questions to ask

After spending $350 to have my dog checked out for bump on her leg the lady in the front was very rude you can tell on her face she didn't want to be there. I asked her if I can use the restroom and she told me they don't have restrooms next door I can use them. Then I told her you don't have restrooms here and she handed the key over. Bad customer service this young broad shouldn't be working here especially with that look on her face.

If you need prescription food, they will make you walk over to THEIR vet clinic, even though you have a valid script from your vet in hand, and get the Vetco team to approve it and give you their own Rx card for the food. It became a hassle and time consuming when my cat was very ill and needed the special food. Cashier was not helpful at all and didn't give me any explanation as to WHY they couldn't accept my written and signed script from my vet to purchase the food, just pointed to the clinic and left the register so I could figure it out myself.** I've had to do this twice, and the Vet receptionists are just as annoyed to have to verify the prescriptions since they have other things they need to do. Just about every one of the cashiers is rude, no eye contact, and they like to avoid you and finish what they were doing first. Always on their phones or have people behind the counter doing nothing (or having full conversations with each other and can't get the next person in line until their conversation is done). The customer service is really lacking here, but it's the closest pet store to me so I have to deal with it.

Everytime I come to this location, your employees make it very unpleasant. You cant have a conversation with them without them telling you what THEY think you should buy, or telling you what they think is illegal. I have to fact check everytime I leave this store. The store/products are great, but you need better staff (cashiers, reptile handlers, older staff) they have a conflicting opinion about EVERYTHING when all you want to do is get the things you need and leave.

First time at the Happy Valley location. I had to have my dog be seen for a rash that wouldn’t go away and was getting pretty bad. All the other locations close by was not available for an appointment for another week! I will from now on take my dog to this location regarding any Vetco issues. The staff here are the very best as they come! They even followed up to check and see how my dog was doing! Amazing! Thank you!

I did forget Ambers vaccinations, I offered to email it to her or fax but she was having nothing of it. I understand not everyone is on the up and up. and staff safety is a priority. I just renewed her license and needed to have it done, she went to the vet 5 days prior to the appt. I just had shoulder surgery and a little off still. I will NEVER use your grooming services again. I had issues booking it even.

any and all az dog owners not up to date on shots, do NOT go to vetco on happy valley pkwy, the vet had absolutely NO sympathy at all. i didn’t even get a name before she was threatening euthanasia because prince was scared and barked at her… like ANY dog would do at the vet. his rabies shot expired october of 2023 and when i told them i could not afford the shot at their location they said they were only seeing me as a curtesy. they said they would take him to the back and mussel him for the check up but that if he bites he will be taken and put down. she kept repeating over and over about euthanasia as im damn near close to tears and it’s obvious. before i get any lashback, I AM AWARE HE NEEDS THE SHOT!!! im looking to get it done as soon as i can but haven’t been able to until recently. this is just a warning that vetco has absolutely no sympathy for you or your feelings or how much a dog can mean to someone. never again. nurse was amazing, prince had no problems but he must have sensed bad vibes with the doctor…

Great staff and products, wide variety of useful pet items I haven't seen elsewhere. There are more sizes of dog carriers, poop scoopers, wide variety of dog clothes and they have a mix of store brand dog food and specialty dog food. I need the specialty and the choices here and actually different from one another, not just different brands using the same ingredients.

I was surprised to see the condition of the store today. I haven't been there in a while and it was disappointing. The store was a mess. I realize they were putting out Christmas inventory but stuff was everywhere and made it difficult to get around. From the door the store looked a mess even dirty. What happened? I can't recommend shopping here.

Canceled my online pick up order with no explanation of why. Spent 5 minutes on the phone with their support, not at location, no help. Tried calling, no one answered.Very frustrating. Please update your online inventory & answer the phone.

I've never seen so many dead or dying fish their lack of care for the animals is gross don't get fish from here most of them look sick and the water is very cloudy probably from all the dead fish that are just chilling in the tank

Ordering and pick up were simple to do. The quality of the Dog Litter (SoPhresh) could be improved so it doesn't get stuck in the dog feet But I have not found a better little out there. It is definitely doable

I was terrified to see this after my baby went for his grooming this afternoon. He was shaking when he got home and when i carried him, i found this wound from his inner thigh. This is not the first time he had a tear/wound after his grooming. The first time his nipple was bleeding then this time his inner me thigh. I'm so disappointed and breaks my heart to see this to my baby. I will never go back here again. This is so traumatizing to my baby.

I used website to schedule appointment, I arrived 10 minutes early per the site’s directions, I had to wait in line for over an hour. Also, was not given an invoice showing what vaccines my dogs were given. I was told I’d receive an email with that info: 3 days later and no invoice received. I now have to go call back and try and get the documentation I need to prove my dogs are vaccinated. I will NOT recommend Petco for vaccines to anyone.
