Over a week ago we went to the animal welfare league located in the chandler fashion mall. Going in we wanted a different type of dog but I am glad we chose to also meet our little girl Oreo. We love her and thankful to the animal welfare league for helping us adopt her. They were so helpful with information and helped us gather supplies for her to come home with us. We highly recommend this shelter for anyone to adopt. The staff also are very friendly, supportive, and helpful. Thank you all for taking our Oreo in so we could take her home.

I adopted my boy, Tucker, from here and he’s the best boy in the entire world. I love him so much. He is very smart, has a lot of personality and is very adorable. Please adopt from here and treat the dogs how you would like to be treated as they are voiceless. They have a lot of dogs and cats that are looking for their furever home and are so loving.

I have adopted 2 dogs from here and I would 100% recommend it. This shelter is smaller which definitely shows in all the dogs. They get play groups, medical care if needed, daily walks. Both dogs I adopted adapted so well coming to my house with my other dogs and I believe it is from the care they got here while waiting to find a forever home. Jax (previously Alex) we got in Feb 2022 and just adopted Neo, April 2024

Very happy with this place. Our councilor was very knowledgeable and helpful. Showed that they really cared about the animals. Lack of a fifth star was my fault. I was sad we could not take more dogs. Picture is of their first night in their new home.

I adopted a cat from the AAWL almost 2 months ago. The staff is kind, knowledgeable, and professional. I am thankful the AAWL allowed me to bring my dog with me when I was looking to add a cat to my family. They even had a list of cats that are dog friendly. I was leaning towards a kitten, but left with a senior. The animal's bio and history are helpful and spot on. This happy cat has been a wonderful addition to my family.

I got my wonderful kitty girl from here on November 29, 2021. I can't begin to tell you how wonderful and kind everyone was and how much I love my baby. When we were brought to her kennel, she put her paws on my chest and her nose to mine and I and my mother knew straight away she was ours. Ella, formerly, "Captain," fits into our home and family so well. It didn't even take 6 seconds, let alone six weeks for her to feel it was her forever home. She traveled to NY and back with us, and I wish I could take her everywhere. It's safe to say that Ella has done wonders for my mental health.

I visited the shelter with my son and his father this weekend. Our experience from start to finish was absolutely amazing. Everyone was so nice/friendly and made the entire process a breeze. We adopted Snoop (Churro) and are absolutely in love with him. He has been incredible with our son and just an all around very good boy. We have not had a single issue with him and he has made himself right at home. He loves his bed (and ours) his stuffies, treats and following our son wherever he goes. Thank you everyone at aawl for being so great and doing what you do!

Had a really great experience with a cat adoption process. Did a “slumber party,” and got to trial run our animal, ended up finding out we were allergic. No one made us feel bad about returning the cat early. A great place!

This place is nothing short or incredible. The cleanest friendly shelter I’ve ever seen. The staff is incredible, especially Mr. Nick. I would and will recommend to anyone looking to adopt a pet. The process was quick and straightforward, also your pet comes with a multitude of goodies for your furry friend.

Rickey & LucyI adopted him on Friday June 30. What a Blessing. Thank you for the person who donated the adoptions. I lost my girl a few weeks ago. Heartbroken- I decided I would go see... I found an amazing kitten. He is purrrfect!!!! Talkative, loving.. a sweetheart. His name is Rickey & I have another girl that is 6. Names Lucy.

We went for kitten we saw online, and came home with him. The whole adoption process was so super easy. The staff is super friendly. So clean inside the animals enclosures. I saw so many volunteers there helping out. Definitely will recommend and I will.go back for my next rescue.

I wish I could tell the people that gave their dog up for adoption that he is happy and in a good home. We are beyond happy with our new forever pup. Not to mention the staff we're all fantastic. Everyone there seemed genuinely happy and that includes the animals. It was very tidy and there was no smell of sickness or waste. Definitely the best experience I've ever had. Everyone was professional and caring. The person at the front desk was very knowledgeable and helpful. Everyone there was patient the experience was unforgettable thank you so much for all the work you. We are so grateful to have a sweet dog like Ted in our family.

We adopted our sweet baby Reesie (formerly Indu) here back in December 2021 and had an excellent experience. Our adoption counselor was Morgan, and she was incredibly thorough and took her time with us throughout the entire process, which also included introducing several dogs to our other pup. She was knowledgable and caring and gave my husband and I space to chat things over before making our decision. The shelter is clean, modern and the animals are very obviously cared for and loved. I even reached back out to Morgan just last year to see if they had more of a backstory on Reesie since I was curious and she provided me with even more info & a puppy photo. I would definitely adopt from this shelter again and suggest it to anyone considering!

I love this place. Volunteering for them is very fulfilling. Right now I'm fostering 2 kittens (I bottle fed them for a week since they were abandoned without mom).AAWL needs a lot of help during kitten season, and fostering is a blast! They gave me ALL SUPPLIES needed (litter box, bottles, formula, food, and toys). Volunteering by fostering has also been a life-changing experience for my son. Helping save kittens is bringing him great joy, while teaching him lessons in responsibility and caretaking. I think this is going to liven up his lonely summer break, what a blessing from God!**The light calico "Peaches" will be for adoption soon!!!

Awesome staff really helped my daughter and I choose the right cat for our family, and provided us with great info on animal behavior and resources on adopted pets.My daughter was set on getting a kitten when we walked in, but when the staff advised there weren't any available they helped point her in the direction of a 2yr old cat with the spirit of a kitten. Ralph has been the best addition to our family, the whole family has fallen in love with him and he now calls the house his 😆.If highly recommend stopping in and giving a pet a new home if you can.

I want to thank the young lady in the cat adoption area that was there on 5/6. She was really helpful and did not pressure us into a decision. She covered every precaution, and advocated for the animals. In my experience as a former vet tech and kennel tech— I have seen many animals go unadopted because of the way pet professionals relay valuable information using terminology that the general population would not understand. So I want to commend the staff on their proficiency when explaining to adopters that intermittent behaviors are expected from animals, however it does not mean that the an animal is not adoptable. It just means owners have to be willing to take on the time and effort that goes along with adopting animals. I love the facility and the staff. Thank you!!As far as the facility goes, it is extremely clean and calm. The pets are happy and content. The outdoor dog area is nicer than most dog parks. The kennels are clean, and I am impressed with the size of their indoor kennel and access to outside space. The kennels are air conditioned and well ventilated. They have exercise areas and cots that are actually useable. The organization as a whole provides exponential paperwork and detailed records upon adoption.

I adopted my little Gizmo from AAWL 10 years ago at the age of 4. Staff was super friendly. I work near AAWL and have donated my old blankets and towels to them as I know it will go to great use. Highly recommend if you are looking to adopt.

This is my favorite rescue/shelter. I've adopted 3 furkids from here. The staff is amazing. They're so knowledgeable about each dog, it's pretty unbelievable. We adopted a pup recently and our adoption liaison lady really listened to what type of home we have, energy level we were looking for, and really understood our cureent dogs to be able to place the right dog with us. They've done this with all 3, and all 3 have been perfect. I even found my soul dog through them. We've gone to multiple events and donated a bunch of times. Every time we're there, we feel so welcomed. I hope to work with them one day as I cherish AAWL in my heart so much.

I adopted my little guy one week ago today. He came with the name Brioche but I named him Taro. He's blind, AND SO INTELLIGENT. They said he wasn't potty trained as he's only 4 months old but within the first three days he was fully potty trained, and whistle trained for recall. I loved this shelter, they were so kind. Everyone I encountered had a great attitude. Their cleaning protocols were also pretty nice as well. I would adopt from here in the future and I would recommend this place to anyone.

I adopted a kitten at the Petsmart location. I just love my new addition. His name was Turtleneck, and I renamed him Buddy! I'm coming in this Friday for vaccines and check-up! He is so cute and I couldn't be happier with my new kitten.

These guy's took care of my vehicle with a thorough inspection. It was backed by pictures diagnosis. It was a lot of work, they gave me a timeline and it was done fairly on time. I have had cars sitting at garages for days when I was previously advised it was a 1 day job. The price was fair. The mechanic and the advisor worked together to get things done timely.

They do wonderful things here and need your support! Don't buy from a breeder, or someone on the sidewalk, or, heaven forbid, a mall pet shop. Come here for your next fur baby. All of my pets came from here, and I wouldn't go anywhere else.
