We used to bring our dog here years ago because they were the only ones that could groom him. He's a very difficult dog and other groomers have called to tell us to come get him because he snaps and pulls away constantly. He is so scared and hates it so much. Then we moved and stopped taking him. Well, we tried to do it ourselves but he was getting pretty bad. I called a vet to see if they could sedate him and from him. They wanted 300.00!! Pet Smart said they can't do difficult dogs and on and on....so we thought we would try A Better Grooming again. I was so surprised that they were still there! My daughter took him in and they actually remembered him and wondered why we never brought him back. They were so sweet and kind! I was so happy that finally my dog could get properly groomed. They did a wonderful job!! And the best part they are the BEST price around!!! Thank you!! He'll be back, before he gets bad again.

A Better Grooming is family owned and operated. Whenever you go in there it is always the same people. A husband and wife, their daughter, and granddaughter. The dogs are groomed the same way every time. They have a set price no matter what you want for your baby, a bath, cut? I would recommend it.

I was a walk in with my 9 lb dog. I requested a nail grind and nail polish. Upon pickup, I was told they didn't have time for the polish. When I insisted, I was made to assist the groomer still charged full price. I honestly couldn't believe it. The woman kept complaining to me that she only came in to help her daughter and was in a hurry to get out of there so she could go home since she was tired. I will never be back and will not be referring them to any of my pet parents. Too bad 😞

I seen all the reviews but you know it's a groomers it smells like dog but the owners are the sweetest people who don't charge a arm and a leg to groom your pet never have I ever had an issue with them for over 5 yrs they hated to tell me they had to raise the rate by $10 ..2 years ago but I told them everything goes up unfortunately

Such nice groomers! I am a former groomer and my dog turned out great and he is a LOT of work.They seem very nice. Made a repeat appointment for every 4 weeks!Very good prices!

The owners are so sweet and knowledgeable. They did such a great job with our 140 lb. dog "Chief" today and the price was more than reasonable. I will definitely continue to take both our dogs there from now on. We live in peoria but it is well worth the little 20 mile drive.

It's an okay groomer for the price, I've only been here a couple of times but the 2 times I've been here I had a strange feeling in my gut. Today when I went in I seen one of the ladies yelling in the dogs face snd grabbing it really hard. I felt bad witnessing it. It was a little too aggresive. After I paid and took my dog I realized that they had cut her nail too short and it was bleeding. I didn't bother to go back in but it just confirmed my suspicions. I won't be taking my dog back. The price is good and the people are decent but it's not worth my dogs pain. Id rather pay more for a groomer who takes their time and is gentle.

Wow, these people are nuts. I used them for a year and half or so but just can't anymore. Their price is lower than most places but if you care about your dog, you should reconsider.I just have a bad feeling about them that's growing lately.They always look for the most convenient route, then lie about stuff to make their argument. They continually did their own thing even though they had explicit instructions from me and had written instructions about the dog's cut.One time I asked them to fix the cut and they did but as I was leaving I heard the groomer complaining about me to the next customer that came in for their pet. What a classy group.The place always smells bad like urine. I wonder if there's any inspector for this type of business. Seems like they would fail the cleanliness part.Good luck!

I have had better Grooming for over 20 years they are excellent and will not go anywhere else they are caring and my dogs love to go .so it means they are very good to the dogs and that means a lot.

Made a appointment for today and showed up on time only to be told they are too busy to trim my dog after driving all the way to them. Their customer service is the worst, a phone call would have been much appreciated. This was not my first bad experience. The first time I brought my dog in they completely shave her vagina and it was all scabbed over the next day. She was in pain for at least a week and wouldn't even sit down. Avoid this place at all costs unless you want s***** service. They really need to wake up and treat their customers better and the animals!

I took my dog to this discussing place that all you people are saying is a great place. The staff there is very rude , the place is beyond dirty, smells horrible . After I brought my dog home he had little rashes all over his stomach and privet area and would lick himself non stop. He got sick after being in that place and recently died because of how unsanitary that place is. I would recommend NOT taking your dog their EVER if you care for your pet. They ask no questions about your pet shot records s nothing. They should be shut down ASAP. Who knows how many other customers they had that experienced the same thing I have went through.

Took my 2 dogs for grooming. my appointment was at 9am no body called me all day for pick up I went at 5pm to see what was going on, the lady didn't apologize and her excuse was she though the other lady had called me I just don't think is ok for my dogs to be locked with no water or food all day. Plus only one of my dogs was done I was never notified that they were having trouble with the other one because they were too busy the lady was rude and she charge me more than they said it was going to be. Don't recommend at all

My dogs are my children. They always go happily into see the girls and are serene when we pick them up. The groomers always check their cards to make sure which blade we want for the season to assure the right shave. No one does specialized ear grooming like this place. some times they are too busy, otherwise excellent

My mom has been taking her Bichon there for years. They have notes from every trip and are very personal when it comes to customers and their dogs. My mother recently passed away, and I am now caring for her dog. I love that I was able to bring her in and they already knew her and what to do. The lady even asked how my mother was doing, and has any time I ever brought Syndney in for her in the past. I love that the entire family runs it as well. Great place!

Terrible experience! We had made an appointment prior to showing up and when we got there, one of the ladies just asked for a name without even looking at and walked away saying she can't hear us. Well no duh you're walking away come to us and actually talk to us. Then she proceeds to go to the back and try and talk to us. Didn't like how she talked to us so decided to leave with my dogs.

I took my dog there for a grooming. The place was filthy. Bird sh!t everywhere around the two large cages they had. Floors filthy. Tubs filthy. I had the first appointment in the morning. There was dog hair everywhere from the previous day. I wouldn’t allow a salamander to be groomed there. I wish I’d had the guts to take my dog and walk out. Sadly, I did not. Now she has diarrhea. Filthy place.

Not happy at all with the service of this shop I have had my dog in this shop before which should by all reasonable idea should make me a regular have not received a call on her and called myself to check on her they told me it would be another hour I waited and the went down there to get her and they still haven't touched her and had another dog that came.in after mine that had a 11:30 am appointment no food or water now they tell it will be 45 months makes 4 hrs in a cage waiting wouldn't recommend this shop if you live your pets

ever since my dog got his haircut he has been acting strange! he doesn't bark, and is always sad. we noticed (that day) he kept licking his male part. it has now been a few days after the haircut and he is doing the same. I finally look at what may be wrong, and I see that his male part may be infected! I don't know if the shaving machine or scissors were infected, but I am not one happy customer..

Called to schedule an appointment for my dog, was told 9:30am on Friday even though business hours say open after 10am. waited around 10 minutes and no one showed, good service but bad time management by employees

My lady is a groomer who is currently pregnant, so we decided to take our dog here. The "ladies" were extremely rude and did not do the cut which was specified. When we called back, all they did was yell at us and argue. We will never go back to this place and I suggest no one else goes. The place also wreaks of urine and feces.
