The pharmacy has got to be the worst in town. They are always out of everything. There customer service is terrible. They have no sense of urgency when the lines are long. I love the rest of the store. Pharmacy manager needs to teach them customer service skills. Will be getting my meds at another pharmacy.

Recommended.I even found rainbow trout there. And some lamb meat. And the Granola that I like.And I was able to pull in one side and turn around and pull out the other side at night time in the truck.Of course the fruit and vegetables are far better than Walmart and if I got stuck there at night then it would be a good place to be stuck.

We started delivery for my Mom yesterday and it was a success!! She got everything she needed and they left the bags where they were easy for her to get and rang the doorbell as requested. They even made sure to carefully put the eggs where she could see them. Thank you to Safeway and the kind employees in Payson!!

Not all locations have gas but this one does. Good price and nice and clean. Better than the place down the street since they were out of gas.

This is my favorite place to stop and use the bathroom before heading into the woods mainly for it's convenience. They have nice fresh bagels here and the store is usually pretty busy so be prepared for a small wait.

The store had a very nice selection. I’m always looking for things that are a little more healthy, natural, organic and why I didn’t see a dedicated section for this, I did see a lot of the products that I would normally get at sprouts or Whole Foods there.

I absolutely love Safeway here in Payson! You simply can not find more friendly employees who are willing to help you with whatever it is that you want or need. They are so polite and courteous to you. At times, I feel like turning around to look to make sure that they are talking to me, ha ha.If the store doesn't stock what it is that you want, the manager will special order it for you, and then call or text you to let you know that your order has arrived.The store is always clean, presentable, and organized just like it should be, and it doesn't matter what time of day or night, you won't be disappointed.Oh, did I mention how friendly everyone is?Well, yes, yes, they are!Next time you go to Safeway, tell them Gordon recommended you. They won't know who I am and what you're talking about, but they will be nice to you anyway, ha ha. Yup, Safeway is the best store in town to do your shopping.It's Gordon approved, ha ha.

New store mgr, Meghan, was rude & dismissive when I reported a shopper's aggressive dog walking around the store. ADA dog or not, Safeway should protect other shoppers with at least a review of the situation. She ridiculed me in front of other shoppers for reporting it. Looks like Safeway is scraping the bottom of the barrel & lowering the bar with new hires like Meghan.

They need to figure out what their price is for turkeys!! Sign above turkeys states they will match Bashas price on Safeways signature turkeys. Just bought Bashas’ Turkey for .89.Took my signature turkey to check out at Safeway and they said it was $2.49 a pound today!!! Seriously wanted me to pay $46 for a Turkey!!

Stopped by the Payson, AZ Safeway on a road trip. They have a well stocked produce section with great variety. The gentleman at the deli made an awesome custom sandwich, which sure beats most of the fast food while traveling. Good prices, great staff! I recommend this store.

Regular grocery shopping here. Safeway does a decent job of keeping things on the shelves despite these difficult circumstances. The staff, with one known exception, is friendly and works hard to keep the store clean, and meet the needs of their customers, most of which are older.The women's restroom could use help in staying cleaner.Parking is easy as the store anchors a strip mall.They also sell gasoline.Nothing much has changed.Prices remain high.Eggs were $4.99.Safeway is our regular grocery store. We were able to get everything we needed. And gas is still less than $4.Safeway did well today. Not much was out of stock despite a busy holiday weekend.No. No changes this time.Busier than usual, right before Thansgiving.Friendly cashier. Someone who cares about his work. Thanks, Kevin!Ran in for forgotten recipe items. Senior Day.

Friendly and helpful staff. Some of the displays were empty , frustrating to go in for weekly specials and they are of stock (Diet Coke)this is a frequent occurrence, otherwise it was another good shopping visit.Very frequent Safeway shoppers!

Safeway is a consistent and dependable store, plus very busy. Always clean and neat. The only issue I have is if you're not there early on great sale item, you will probably find it not available and sold out.

Great people, wonderful service and great selection. After lunch at a local restaurant I forgot to take my credit card. I then went to Safeway to shop got everything I needed and checked out only to find I did not have my credit credit card. So I of course left my bagged groceries at Safeway while I went to get my credit card. When I got back and paid, the lady at the service desk at Safeway called to have my grocery cart taken from a big cooler and brought to me. It was summer but I still was amazed that they would take so much effort to keep my groceries chilled. I was so appreciative of their care of my groceries. Absolute great service and consideration.

They need to update their store hours online and at the entrance of the store. They are not open until 10pm, they close at 9:30 or whenever they feel like they worked too much. Tonight, was 9:42.Since they're hours are always changing, I will be sure to up date everyone through Google reviews. Hopefully others will do the same.What is with people that can not work a full shift nowadays?

First time here, we are from out of town, but I love my hometown Safeway. So, when traveling, we try to hit Safeway. There was a display of Lay’s Chips, buy 3, pay $1.97 a bag. Of course, they didn’t ring up correctly, the cashier came over and said they probably didn’t ring up correctly, because the ad said the bags needed to be 8 oz or more, so I asked, why there was a display with the $1.97 price if those bags weren’t on sale, she made the correction for us, but told me maybe I shouldn’t shop at Safeway if I didn’t like how the sale prices didn’t populate correctly. Well, that was a crummy way to talk to a loyal customer. Not impressed.

Quit price gouging your customers. Quality has gone down and prices have gone up. Record profits and no pay raises for the staff. Pitiful. Stop with the digital coupons. Just give the discount with the card. A bunch of the stuff doesn't ring up right anyway and it's causing delays in the line. With how much we are paying we could be shopping at AJs or Whole foods in the valley. Might have to start packing coolers and taking monthly trips just to go to the grocery store.

Having driven back and forth between here and Phoenix 30+ times in the last few months I've had the opportunity to compare prices here with prices at stores down in the Phoenix valley. Prices on everything in Payson are higher than prices on everything down in the valley and Safeway is a great example of that price difference. Also I'm only talking about the sale prices. Shopping here stresses me out due to everything being too expensive. It seems like they're hoping to make money on the tourists that come through town but that makes it harder to live in Payson. I generally only buy things that are on sale for the week or have a coupon in the digital app. If milk isn't on sale for the week then I might not go to Safeway at all.The prices here are hands down better than the Bashas across the street but the store isn't quite as updated looking.The customer service counter at Safeway closes quite early.The employees in the pharmacy are very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I don't generally interact with anyone else in the store.I hate their canned response down below. Of course I use thier app and coupons, otherwise I wouldn't shop here EVER.

Had exactly what I was looking for and then some. The produce department always has fresh fruit and vegetables available. The fresh meat variations is a plus in my book. I also like the fact that the amount of money I spend here goes towards my fuel points and that is just so helpful especially with the fuel prices right now. Plus, I appreciate the various sales and promotions around the store and that helps to save me money as well. Thank you for all your hard work. You are all very much appreciated!

Worst experience of my time living in Payson. John or Jack the store manager is the rudest “manager” i’ve ever dealt with. Telling me I could give you the sale price but download the APP. I’ll just spend my money at Bashas across the street. I will not be going back to Safeway with my money. That was a great wat to treat a local.

March 11 1pmI was in line to checkout with a elderly man behind me. He ask me for some help when he checked out.I proceeded to tell the attendant in the self checkout that the next gentleman would need assistance.Then she told me in not such a nice voice that he would have to wait his turn.He was still waiting in line minding his own business.It was my first trip into Safeway and it will be my last trip in. I was just was trying to help. The elderly man was just waiting his turn.I think Karen needs a brake and a talking to.

Nice clean store. Good selection of foral for any day of the week. Especially for Valentines Day. The Red Rose are awesome gift with some chocolate covered strawberries. I always come here for the flowers. I think they have the best selection in Payson. The two other reasons is the fresh meat! Ohh the ribeyes are the bomb with good prices. Last thing to grab when leaving is Starbucks to finish your evening or day of shopping. The staff is always nice and friendly.
