I had the most wonderful experience at the inn in Patagonia, Arizona! The rooms exceeded my expectations -they were comfortable and well-maintained. The location was absolutely stunning; photos truly don't capture its beauty. The laid-back, family-run inn was a true gem. We stumbled upon this haven when our Airbnb's AC malfunctioned during a scorching 100 degrees weather spell. I can't thank them enough for turning a potential disaster into a memorable and enjoyable stay.

On our recent trip to Patagonia, we stayed at the Stage Stop Inn. There are not many hotel options in the area, however, the historic nature of the Stage Stop Inn is worth the stay. It is rustic, keep in mind that it is not a Marriott or Hilton, so do not expect that level of modern. It is clean, well kept and the room was very quiet. We stayed the John Wayne room; it was large, very clean and there was plenty of room. Our only complaint was that the mattress(es) was very firm. Other than that, it was a nice experience. There is not a lot of parking in the front, but there is ample parking in the back. With that said, there is not much traffic in the area. The on-site restaurant stays open until 9 PM and has a good number of selections on the menu.

1st impression = NOT GOOD! 😡My family booked 2 adjoining rooms, as we are 3 adults and 3 children (10 and under). We arrived 6 minutes after the 2:00 check-in time, only to be told by the desk clerk that she had ALREADY put ANOTHER guest in one of our RESERVED ROOMS, 20 minutes earlier!--*before* check in time!So I'm sitting outside in the 100° heat, patiently waiting to see what is being offering instead, and I am NOT HAPPY.If we'd been late?--MAYBE. But we weren't, and the lady behind the desk didn't seem to care AT ALL.Now we're upstairs in a suite, that we'll make work. But I still am just appalled that she thought it was some kind of good idea to put another guest in a room reserved for us. ☹️Room update: the John Wayne suite had a non-functional ceiling fan/light fixture in the LR.The kitchen area had a great mid-size fridge with a separate freezer and provided dish soap and sponge. The fold-out queen sofa-bed was very hard.I am upgrading the room to 3 stars, but Service still gets only 1!

Generally good service and food. The interesting thing lately is they really don’t feel like serving customers. The told us we couldn’t be seated as they were going to mop the floor…huh what? it was at lunch time on a weekend. The lady was really rude and disrespectful about the whole situation. Not sure exactly what is up but this has happened (bad service) twice in a month. They must be flush with cash if they can turn business away and sleepy little Patagonia. I hope the owner sees this and make corrections because I really like this place and it has a lot of potential, especially if they get their service dialed in.

Very disappointed this is the only hotel in Patagonia. I highly recommend getting an Air BnB or staying a town over. Hotel is way over priced for such a small room, uncomfortable bed, and no special services. Plus the workers were just rude but more importantly management was the rudest of all! I could not believe the amount of disrespect I received here! On top of that none of the employees speak English which I am sure of some of them don’t even have paper work to be in the states. May I also mention there was to privacy. They would just enter the room whenever they felt like without even knocking! I requested them to knock due to me being pregnant and constantly sick in the restroom to which they refused and told me they can come in when ever they want(even while I’m in the shower). I would catch the workers even management staring into the sliding glass door and watching me the whole time I stayed. I was so uncomfortable to ever shower or change clothing. As well I couldn’t even brush my teeth let alone wash my hands in the sink due to the foul septic smell coming from the drains. I would throw up everytime, let alone my husband would even gag to the smell. May I mention the constant ruckus beginning at 5am everyday. My room was next to another room they seem to use as a shed and there was constant banging of heavy objects against the wall, a leaf blower blowing rocks at the door, workers yelling and tussling. It was just horrible. Management randomly came into my room(as usual) while I was sleeping and started yelling at me in Spanish to which I didn’t understand and stormed off leaving door open allowing my dogs to run away while I am pregnant chasing them. This was just the worst experience of my life. It has really made the beginning of my pregnancy so hard when I thought I could rest due to staying at a hotel. The best part about this place is the restaurant next door that always gets my order wrong, but still charges me for what I original order.

I unexpectedly had to spend 4 nights at the Stage Stop due to a sprained ankle I aquired on the Arizona Trail last week. A bummer at first, but my stay has been a pleasure. From housekeeping, to the front desk staff to the owner, the hospitality here is top notch. Everyone in town is so friendly. The beds here are amazingly comfortable! The hotel is clean & homey, the courtyard is super cute, the restaurant downstairs has good food and incredible margaritas! The town of Patagonia is just as charming. I can't wait to get back on the trail but I do not regret my stay at the Stage Stop Inn!

We've eaten here before and food is average or slightly below. Not inspired or creative. On our recent visit we left after an hour without being served. When we got there the place was emptying out, as we missed the lunch crowd, and the servers were socializing amongst themselves rather than coming to serve us. We finally had to go get their attention so we could place an order. Even then, the food never came, so we notified them we were on a schedule and had to leave. I'll never eat there again.

We love this place..rustic feel with upgrades. Bed is so comfy I didn't want to leave it. Shower has good pressure. Room is clean and well equipped including bottled water dispenser. Room is so cute and looks over pool area. Would definately recommend and return.

Construction guys staying here upstairs had no consideration for anyone else on the bottom floor. Our sleep schedule had to be there’s also. 11pm to 5:30am. It sounded like the guys were running around back and forth and doing jumping jacks. The building is very old and nice. If I decide to come to Patagonia I would stay somewhere else or next time I will verify if there are workers staying above us. The management was responsive and asked them to keep it down but it didn’t matter to them.People need to think about how they clomp around on the upper floors, slamming their heels into the floors dragging and dropping things on the floors etc….

Really cool, somewhat period correct building. My bed was very uncomfortable and the person or persons next door had their TV on full blast,to the point I could follow the show they were watching. The water dispenser was empty in my room. Not very private,at least not where I was.

We had a short but nice stay. Our room was clean and a nice size with a coffeemaker and fridge. There is a courtyard area with a pool and a restaurant with a nice patio area. There are other restaurants and shops within walking distance. Thank you for a great stay

The inn's design is that of an old motor lodge, that is, outside access via sliding glass doors. I was fine, but I suspect many women traveling alone might not be comfortable here. I stayed in both 1st and 2nd-floor rooms. Preferred the upper since I wasn't bothered by people walking overhead. Rooms aren't well lit, making it hard for a reader. No hair dryers. No bath mat in one of the rooms, with used soap at sink (yuk). Mattresses were OK but not great. Second room had a bit of an odor to it. Great location though. Coffee shop and bar/restaurants are easy walk. Welcoming staff.

This was a some what rustic setting. It was very way kept, in fact our bathroom was recently remodeled. We had cable tv, frig, coffee maker and free bottled water. The bed was comfy and the grounds were full of places to sit and relax, read or enjoy a drink. Also on site was a restaurant, we had dinner and breakfast both were excellent!

We had 3 couples ride motorcycles to Patagonia and we stayed one night at the Stage Stop Inn. Very nicely remodeled rooms, very clean, and quiet. The owners were very pleasant and thoroughly enjoyable. Great restaurant too. We plan on doing this trip again.
