La Paz County animal control super disheartened by y’all today, when I called the shelter to see what the protocol for a cat is, I was told straight up that their protocol is let the cats get eaten by the coyotes to take care of the problem. On top of which the shelter takes no cats unless the owner has died, also what the hell? As an animal shelter you take in any homeless animals and give it your best to treat, care, and rehome. DO NOT SUPPORT LA PAZ COUNTY ANIMAL SHELTER

I came into the possession of two feral kittens that I could not keep. I think many of us think taking animals to a shelter often ends in a death sentence. Lee and Jesse welcomed the kittens and said there is steady demand for cats. I left there with the knowledge I had done the right thing and that the little guys would have a future. Thank you Lee and Jessee.

I'd still give this place 1 star because my dog survived their prison and the girl was very nice on the phone. One should not be a dog catcher if one thinks they should be able to decide the outcome of animals lives, regardless of the law. I hope you get caught for taking donations to the shelter back to your home for your dogs, I hope you get caught trying to extort people's pets and service animals from them and face charges for being a baby back biccch who can't handle hearing a woman's opinion about you not having a rabies certificate for a vaccine shot you made her pay for!!! That is inefficient and if you had your shiiit together I'd have had no cause to tell you so.And it'd be nice to get what I effin paid for La Paz County Animal Control, like a rabies certificate and a legitimate receipt. Not just scribbles on a business card and a lemonade stand receipt with no info thrown at me. It would have been nice to not be insulted or verbally degraded as if I'm the one out here extorting money from people and having an ego power trip and instead of reuniting pets with the owner they love, you use their relationship as leverage against people. As if threatening to keep someone's dog is going to make them be nice to you. Albeit so that your words bring unto you all the hatefulness and hardships that you express unto others.Enjoy being a dog catcher until you die.

Nice people and we'll loved doggy inmates. However they don't have dog bath facilities on the premise. Never heard of an animal shelter that couldn't bath dogs.

Came in to look at dogs for adoption and do an allergy test (I’m allergic but only to some breeds) if I found one I liked. Found one, did the test (nothing crazy, just close interaction with the dog then wait several hours to see what happens). Everything went great, zero allergic reaction, 5 star service, and I’ll be picking up my dog tomorrow morning! Will update if anything changes.UPDATE: Got my dog, a very friendly pit bull named Prince. zero issues, in and out in under 20 minutes. They are also covering his neuter and rabies shot next week, free with the adoption. Highly recommend adopting here!

They had my dog for weeks before posting him on Facebook, I had called and left messages (because no one ever answered the phone) about my dogs looks, age, ect and never heard back. I wouldn't have my dog now, who is 14 years old if my best friend hadn't been on Facebook. If you are missing an animal make sure you go here in person. They do not respond to phone calls or their Facebook page.
