good easy trail for kids under 8 and elders, otherwise it’s boring in this winter season. The Nature trail that's close to the gift shop has just sands and withered plants. The wild life trail can’t see any wild life, seldom any other hikers on the road. There are so many side ways that’s misleading. We miss the Wild life trail and proceed to firebreak road at first until we saw 4 others coming down from a hill. There’s only 1 ranger works at the gift shop. No other rangers guide you on the way. We arrive about noon and the gift shop was closed till 2pm. There are some gold finch birds perching at the bird feeder in front of the Ranch house. The 100 year old house is well maintained with some nice household display. Outside the house is a bit windy. The park close at 5pm so we barely have time to finish 3 trails. The Geology trail has nothing much to see. The granite loop maybe more fun with the boulder views. If you bring small kids, don’t forget to ask the ranger for the activity pamphlet and later return for the cool yellow badge. People seem to call in to book the star party at night while we were at the gift shop. You pay parking at the gift shop not the front door.

Not bad. Walked on two small loops trails and the view is about average in Arizona. The rocks are interesting. Not many cacti here. It's on the northern side of Mt Lemmon and you can see a small peak of Mt Lemmon. But you will have a good view of the San Pedro valley and the mountains on the eastern side of the San Pedro valley.

Great, easy hikes. Amazing night sky. Look for their night events. They have a night gate and you can pay for an after-hours gate code. I've never seen so many stars in my life. Worth the trip out. Hit Biosphere 2 on the way.

Great desert! It's way different than the south of Catalina Mountain. Howvervtge trails are short and not well described on the map. Nevertheless, it was a nice escape from the city heat.

This park is outstanding. It is easy to park, with clean bathroom facilities throughout the park. There are well planned and maintained trails as well as sites to explore such as the historic Kannally Ranch House. There are plenty of activities sponsored throughout the year for the public. Attended an incredibly informative geology tour with Tom Buckley, Oracle State Park geologist. He was key in development of the self-guided geology tour at the park. There is a map and information that can be downloaded on your phone as well as a paper brochure.

Hiked through the back side of the park using the AZT. Circled around and went back on gasline rd to ATZ. The land is beautiful. Lots of wildlife.

Nice picnic area and restroom. The Geology trail is an interesting and easy hike. You can take a GeologyTrail map at the beginning of the trail and learn more at the numbered markers (selfguided tour). We did just a part of it this (first) time. Starting at Geology trail from the group area (over Marker 1-3, then over the Kanally wash shortcut to marker 9,10 and back). Suitable trail for kids ages 2 and up during mild temperatures, which we had today🙂 (walking only/no strollers).

This is a great park with dog friendly trails. It’s slightly higher in elevation than Tucson, so it’s cooler but not as cold as Mount Lemmon.

Feb 5 2023: Took Nature Trail to Wildlife Corridor Trail to junction with Arizona Trail. Out and back was an easy 4 miles with wonderful views. Saw gray fox, white-tailed deer, and lots of birds. An enjoyable hike without many inclined

I came down here to take my family for a nice day trip. The park ranger at the front desk, J. Hanson was very kind and helpful. We enjoyed going down into the historic sitting rooms in the ranch house. He also suggested taking the short interpretive trail to see the trails and the old cattle corral area. It was very windy but the trail insulated us more from it. Make sure to bundle up! Highly recommend taking a trip down here. We had a very good time. Thank you!

We loved the trails at Oracle SP. The nature trail is easy but has a lot of interesting ups and downs. A big plus is the self guided tour of the original owners house that serves as the park info center and museum. One of our favorite days in Oro Valley.

Quite state park nice seating picnic area. Bike trails just ok. Many trails in the park don't allow dogs🤔sadly they are not pet friendly. 3 stars for that fact . Otherwise very clean restroom and landscaping natural area to explore with trees and boulders. Please Be rattlesnake aware as they are lots of hiding places for snakes.

Beautiful park. Peaceful area. You have to check out the house that is in the park. Very cool and love the history. The vast landscapes were beautiful all round. Nothing really stood out as overly amazing but still loved this park. I will be back and bring my mountain bike. The staff was so nice and chill and fun to talk to.

Very pretty area with over 15 miles of trails. A section of the Arizona Trail crosses this park. This park was also the first state park in Arizona to receive the designation from the International Dark-Sky Association. The first thing I would suggest to do is to visit the Kannally Ranch House built in 1932. It’s a very pretty Mediterranean-Revival style house where you can do a tour that lasts about 45 minutes. The tour is only available on Saturdays and Sundays. Throughout the year, there are lots of events going on. In my opinion, the most interesting event is the Storytelling Sky Tour. Here people also come for stargazing; however, the best area to go for stargazing is actually the American Avenue trailhead parking spot. The gate there is always open.

Love this part. It has beautiful trails that you can make as long or as short as you wish, wonderful views, a wildlife observation area, and a little beautiful old farmhouse. Oracle State Park is a little hidden gem.

We went for the dark sky event. ✨️ really great group of people who are knowledgeable and kind sharing about astronomy. The park itself is unique. The large rock landscape is beautiful. Almost alien looking. Plus lots of birds!

Granite Ridge trail too dangerous, easy to fall and break something. Work needs to take place. Serious warning signs placed.

Nice trailhead for the AZT with ample parking and easy access. Nice views of the Catalina's and landscape if you climb up the trail a bit. Gets hot in the Summer, good for cooler months.

Oracle State Park is a special place in a unique area. It serves as an environmental education center and hosts numerous speakers from all walks of life, all with the common interest in helping palnet earth and its environment. My wife works for a well-known environmental non-profit and has spoken to the public on several occasions at the State Park. Her programs, like other speakers, serve to educate and answer questions. The 3,000+ acres of the park have a series of excellent hiking trails that will lead a visitor to wonderful panoramic viewpoints as well as to quiet high-desert landscapes.Oracle has had several famous people consider it as their home. One, famous in the environmental world, was Edward Abbey, author of many books and the creator of the "monkey wrench gang". Environmental interests run high in the area. The Biosphere just outside of town is another prime example.Your visit to this quiet state park and its historic ranch setting will add the Golden Star to your visit in the area. The state park's main building, the Kannally House Ranch, has a beautiful 1930's Mediterranean-Revival Style ranch house that is also a museum of period memorabilia and paintings. It will give you a taste of the interesting world that early Tucson and its environs shared, including the lifestyle of early ranchers.

We visited the park to participate in the bird walk with Mary Ellen. It's a beautiful place to go birdwatching and Mary Ellen knows her birds! The park includes an old historical ranch. A beautiful place.

We were really excited to visit Oracle state park however the ranger was rude. As a family we always support AZ state parks by hiking or camping. The ranger continued to question us even though we assured him we paid our fee. The ranger really needs to show more respect to his customers.

A beautiful park with an interesting historical building! This desert grassland is lush with many plants including desert spoon, manzanita, barrel cactus, soap tree yucca, and arizona cypress. We spotted a cool rainbow grasshopper.
