This was the best trail ride we have ever been on and as a family we have been on quite a few. Wes and Phyllis were very good with the children in our group. They were very patient. They gave clear instructions and allowed the children to interact with the ride itself. They are full of history about the area, and we did not feel ever that we were rushed at all through the ride. I would do this again without hesitation. The kids in our group, 2 that were 16, 2 that were 9 and 1 that is 20 years old thought it was the best thing they have done so far on this vacation. A definite two thumbs up.

This was the most enjoyable experience!!! My daughter and I loved this so much!!! We are here from Texas for winter break and decided to come to Sedona for the week….hands down one of the most memorable trips we have taken!! You guys take such good care of the horses and it shows!!! It was a very informative and exciting ride!!! Short trip from Sedona and we also loved all the pictures that the host took!!

We had a wonderful time with Phyllis and Wes. Phyllis was very knowledgeable of the area and the history of the land. They were both good to the young kiddos who were a bit scared. I highly recommend the trip out to see them!

Best experience horseback riding ever! My eight year old son said it was SO GREAT!!! It was his favorite thing he did on our vacation! All eight of us thoroughly enjoyed the ride. Wes and Phyllis were great and very informative of the surrounding area and allowed my kids to get involved by opening up gates with their horses! So glad we chose this place and would highly recommend them for your next ride!

We had a blast. The ride was relaxing, was able to ride through a few wash ways, valleys and hills. Good stories in history about the area and all the mining that occured along with the recent wildland fires in the area.Easy to moderate ride but with good instruction on how to ride properly. Tack was well kept and our horses Richard and Austin were well trained and easy to ride. We received good instruction before leaving the ranch on how the horses would react and commands to properly control them. Horses were not docile trail horses they truly reacted to the rider. We will be going back again and enjoying a ride longer than 1 1/2 hours.

It was a wonderful experience for our family to explore the mines and the hills on horseback. Phyllis was so kind and knowledgeable about horse riding techniques and the terrain. We would love to visit again.

We went on a trail ride and had an amazing time! Wes and Phyllis were great with my daughters ( 17&14), both novice riders, pulling them out of their comfort zones. They are extremely knowledgeable about the area, plants/animals, and great food nearby. Despite the rain and hail that got us the last 5 min of our ride, we had a blast! Definitely recommend. They clearly love what they do and their animals. Rip, that little energetic dog, was our favorite

Our family wanted something to do while staying in Dewey. This place was close and reasonable so we gave it a shot. Hands down this was the best trail ride we've ever taken. The horses were easy to ride and bond with. Our 6 and 9 yr old loved it and so did we. The trail is full of History and Phillis gave us the whole story. Even their dog is super cool doing amazing tricks. We highly recommend this place and will be bringing friends up to enjoy it too. Thank you, Wes and Phillis!

Best experience ever! So glad we went to Foothills Ranch with our grandsons (age 8 and 9). It was the highlight of our trip. Phyllis did a great job with all of us, but especially my grandsons who were on their first ride ever.

Our family took a trail ride this past weekend with Wes and Phyllis and had an incredible time. The horses were beautiful and well mannered! Our kids are 7-10 years old and very beginner riders, and it was a couple decades since my last ride. The horses were gentle and perfect for my kids and they even had a large horse (Brownie) that made it possible for me at 270lbs possible to ride with the kids. Wes, Phyllis and their team were attentive to the details and we always felt safe. The trial itself was through some beautiful terrain. Our family will be back and are already looking forward to our next ride!

Took my girlfriend horseback riding for her birthday and she absolutely loved it. Our horses, Larry and Smokey, were amazing horses especially for first timers like ourselves. Our guide was awesome and for a person who has lived in the area for 10 years, it was great to see something new and historical facts I had no clue about.

Lovely location with beautiful views from the trails. It was a great ride out, with lots of interesting local history pointed out along the way. The horses were super, obviously so loved and cared for and well behaved. Everyone there was so friendly, and went out of their way to thoroughly spoil you and make it a great experience. The canine chaperones were a very welcome addition too! Would definitely recommend to anyone - both experienced and beginner riders are both well catered for. We will definitely be coming back!

Great place to ride! Phyllis and Wes work well with the inexperienced rider. They have very nice horses and take great care of them. Would definitely recommend them to anyone. I would put a 5 year old under their care. Even the fearful can enjoy their ride!! They work well with everyone.

We had an amazing experience at Foothills! Everyone is welcoming, helpful and informative. Phyllis took my wife and I out with another fun couple who are regulars, it felt like riding with old friends. All the horses were well behaved yet spirited, Phyllis kept a good pace and took us slightly off the beaten path which we all enjoyed. The personalized touch along with the rugged feel was a great surprise, can’t wait to return. Thank you for the great day.

Foothills Ranch (1 1/2 hour) ride was a great experience, it close to Prescott but removed enough to enjoy riding off the beaten path. We rode through the foothills of trees, streams and bush. The horses were well cared for and were able to roam on 25 acres in their down time. I rode Miles, he was a great horse easy to ride and responsive to my requests. The ranch hands/ owners were kind and knowledgeable. Highly recommend this place!

Our family of 4 (with 3 novice riders) had a fantastic time on our ride! Phyllis and Kiara were absolutely wonderful guides. The horse were great, plenty of room was given for us to actually guide them. The terrain was incredible with lots of different routes to take.Would highly recommend this place to anyone!!

Hi! Hopefully philys and Wess will see this! I went to this ranch 4 years ago when I was 9 and I had the most amazing experience. I met their old horse Smokey and fell in love with him unfortunately they don’t own him anymore but I still see him to this day. The owners are truly amazing and we’re like 2nd grandparents to me. If I could rate this ranch 10 stars I would. Please check them out they are a truly amazing. I will always keep coming back to them to ride whenever I can.

We had a nice time riding with Wes and a few other folks. This is a great place to go horse backing no matter what kind of riding skill you have-you are paired up with the horse that fits your skill. The horses are well-mannered, clean and friendly. Wes and his wife were great; good people! Manny and I will definitely go back again! We had a great time!

Short review: Amazing place with amazing people I would highly recommend!Long review: I went with Foothills ranch due to it being a small family owned ranch. I booked the 3 hour tour for myself and 4 others. (3 had zero experience and had never rode). We were staying in Sedona AZ, just over an hour drive. Upon arrival all 5 horses were saddled up with water in our packes. The horses were in excellent health and were very clean. The owners Phyllis and Wes greeted us with smiles and made us feel welcome. After some very short business we got in the saddle and headed out. Phyllis guided us and was very knowledgeable about the land, gold mines, horses, and general Arizona history. The horses we got were excellent! They were easy to ride but also had enough personality that made the ride engaging. After our ride had concluded the other owner Wes spoke with us for a short time and made some very nice suggestions for lunch.Over all: Foothills ranch far exceed my expectations, I enjoyed the private riding experience they offer, the ride was anything but boring for us, owners/guide is knowledgeable and friendly (make you feel apart of the family). And the value for money is the best that I could find compared to other companies. Definitely book a ride with Foothills Ranch!!!!

I had family in town - 1 person who never rode before- and was unsure if I was able to book a same day ride with the short notice. I called the number and left a message and received a call back immediately. Thankfully they had the ability to book a short notice 1 hour ride for 4 people. The owners were great - we had great conversation along the route and the trail ride was perfect. My daughter in law is now in love with horseback riding! Will definitely be returning and so happy they are so close to my home! Thanks again!!!!

Great place for horseback ridings! Reasonable prices and they always take you on a good tour of the area. Perfect for showing out of town guests the beauty of the countryside. Also very patient with kids.
