MUST READ... VERY IMPORTANT !!!!If you want to get robbed, go right ahead and shop this store. Since the store reset, it's been a mess, sloppy, empty shelves, broke open products from people stealing.. including stealing slices of bread. Also, their prices have almost doubled since the reset. I asked, why? An employee said "because we can, people shop here because it's close and they will pay the prices no matter what". First that's price gouging, second, it's taking advantage of people, many on limited incomes. That's just WRONG !!!! I noticed white bread and wheat was always the same price, well, not at DG... I guess wheat flour costs more than white flour, wheat bread was $ .20 more than white bread. I've tried to call their corporate office.. can never get through to anyone. Emails, I get the same message reply, word for word. Customers... !!!!! You realize that with the amount of markups DG has made, you can drive to Walmart, save more money shopping at Walmart and still have extra money to put gas in your cars/trucks. Oh... and let's not forget dog food. The lies about it being bought out within the same day, but yet shows 26 bags in-stock. Was told their truck would be in in the morning, I've been the 2 days in a row, no truck ever showed and no carts littering the isles. The lies from the manager are countless, I've heard every excuse there was... including a truck hasn't been there in weeks, warehouse only sending what they want & behind on restocking that store. Well, that's why the new registers... are AUTO-INVENTORY !!!!! People !!! ... believe me !!!! ... you'll be saving money driving to Walmart, even after putting gas in you vehicle !!!!!!!

Store never has what a person needs. Only thing it seems to have EVERY TIME I GO THERE, is a 2 mile long line and only 1 register going. Manager doesn't seem interested in working there. Always avoids customers.... Terrible customer service.

Always, always look at prices on the shelves and be ready to question why the product is ringing up higher than what the slef price says it it. Case in point a frozen dinner shows it is $4.25 but you get to the register and you pay $5.25 for it. Honestly I don't know what is keeping this store going, they rarely have products and they scam you out of your money by not posting the actual product price.

Employees are extremely helpful and always help when needed. The store itself is awfully small so it’s a bit crowded at times, but that’s an expansion issue. Shelves clear out quickly so stock stays low on a few products, but there’s always an employee or two stocking to keep up. Any messes are customer made for sure! If you go at opening the store is organized and uncluttered. I went twice one day and the clothes were organized when I passed them in the morning and were torn apart by noon with hangers all over the place. If Avra Valley stops behaving like starving animals ripping everything apart and try to keep our neighborhood store clean, it wouldn’t be bad. It’s easier on the employees as well. Overall, the employees are heroes for tolerating the people that live out here destroying their store daily. Also, STOP BRINGING YOUR DOGS IN THE STORE PEOPLE! Some people have dog allergies and it’s intolerable to be in there because you didn’t want to leave your dog at home. Dollar General staff, please start enforcing the no pets rule. I’ve left the store due to this a few times. Dollar general isn’t a pet store, keep them at home or don’t go at all. It’s unsanitary for all of us!

Last year dollar general made $10.813 billion in profit. That means in 32 seconds they make the same money I have to live on for the entire year. And they have the balls to hit me up for spare change at the register. The greed of some of these large corporations is disgusting.

This particular store has Great employees. They are always welcoming and friendly with me and everyone, I see go there. Great deals on everything in the store. Every week they have new ads to save some cashWhen your running on your last bill. This store is in a great location and has better prices than the gas station has next door.

Decent store and decent prices. Here's the reason for 3 stars: I've been to a couple Dollar General's around town and this one just seems unorganized compared to other ones. It's a nice store and if things were on the shelves as they were supposed to be I would give it more stars. The staff is always super friendly and helpful.

I Love all the employees at this store. Everyone is always super friendly and helpful. All of them always have a smile and there face and the can damn near greet every customer by name.. Betty the cashier and Alex the assignment manager are my all time favorite people that work there...

Love this convenience store & location. It is seriously necessary to have an everything store out here in Avra Valley since besides the Speedway (which is SUPER limited) the next closest place to buy milk, bread, eggs, cat food/litter & a cheap skain of yarn is 10 miles away at the Marana exit. Sometimes though the lines get rediculously long with only one person @ a register, & sometimes aggravating when there's 2-3 employees standing behind the counter chatting when they could open another register ALREADY. There's the [self-checkout] which is nice, but only when you're paying w your card ಠ⁠ω⁠ಠ. Main reason I'm leaving my comment was because the hours were completely wrong for this location. Google maps info said they're open 7am-11pm 7days. But I just got here and they don't open till 8am! So I'm sitting in my car waiting for them to open ¯⁠\⁠_⁠(⁠ ͡⁠°⁠ ͜⁠ʖ⁠ ͡⁠°⁠)⁠_⁠/⁠¯leaving this rediculously long rating. ALSO, watching COUNTLESS PEOPLE pull up, park. Walk up. Then REALIZE, shoot. If you want to feel like you're not going to get robbed when walking into a store then don't come to this dollar General location go to the other one that's 10 minutes up the road in the nicer neighborhood to Gladden Farms area. The manager Shannon here has been the manager here for years and has never seemed to care about the professionalism of her employees nor the cleanliness of this store.Shannon is often been the perpetrator of the unprofessionalism I've had to witness and listen to.This is by far the dirtiest store I've ever been to in my entire life and I have lived & visited many places around the world to give you an idea of the many types of stores in the many different countries that I've been in. Allegedly, the Gladden Farms location is a bit smaller but yet they seem to be much cleaner, and they don't have a bunch of junk up and down there aisles, and it's clean! Their customers at this location (not the Gladden Farms location)don't fair either,they're just as rude.So save yourself the headache. Unfortunately too many people have to come here because it's "convenient" and there's no other store but thankfully that will be changing as long as there's growth the community. Dollar General won't be able to sustain much of this growth any further if they can't keep up with the likes of Walmart. I know it's the DG business to design to purposely not add fresh meats, fruits, and vegetables as you are the contributors to the Obesity epidemic, you guys purposely corner places such as rural America and offer nothing but junk. Its time for you to make many changes here and company-wide.

My visit was very pleasant. My first visit to this particular store. Alex, should be the role model to other stores, showing outstanding customer service etiquette and friendliness are above and beyond. Was welcomed, acknowledged, thanked for shopping at that store, and was invited back! I travel to all stores specializing in sale items for my community function donations. I'd have to say this store is the absolute best!! No matter if it's45 minutes and 30 miles away, I have no problem traveling for kindness. 🏅🏅

Would like to give 5 stars. But they won't stock alo water. I'm even on a list to try to get them to get more. It's been over a month and keep getting told next order delivery. But never comes. I'm even known by all workers because of it. If its a big sale then way not stock it? Plentiful amounts of beer but not healthy liquid

Customer service is always awesome the reason for the 4 stars instead of five is it always clustered. I can't put all of it on the employees because ALOT of the customers don't treat the store like it's a neighborhood store that we all depend on the convenience of it. Instead they treat it like they're at home depending on someone else to picc up after them. So unfortunately the store is a mess and cluttered, maybe an extra employee per shift that's there just to keep the store organized? Thank you to all employees!😀

Are dollar store is the best..All you need to do is go there and you'll see..Everyone that works there are just as friendly as can be..From the greeting as you walk in to the can I help you well your shopping and everything in the store is as it should be if you just need milk or bread it's at the front of the store for a qwik in and out or if you just want to walk around and see all they have to offer. And as you get a friendly did you find everything alright to the..Have a nice day see you next time..And you feel good as you walk in your car as you feel like you had.just left your friends house and you just had a great visit..

I took down my old review.. it WAS a 5 star review.. within the last year or so this store has absolutely nothing I need ever.. If you need spaghetti noodles or dog food or pretty much anything just go to another store... the shelves are always empty but yet there is full carts of merchandise that takes then forever to put on the shelves and when they finally do put some out, it gets wiped out because the customers have been waiting so long..

Staff are very good honest neighbors. Sometimes stock gets low before deliveries. Clearance section is worth a look for deals. Balancing convenience of close-by to price it works especially with discounts and specials. The staff is their biggest asset.

The store was a hot mess. One aisle had merchandise all over the floor. Carts full of products were blocking aisles. I only saw 2 employees one cashier and one staring at a shelf. Love the location and the convenience.

I've had to change my rating from 5 to 1. Why? Was there today to grab a few things with a friend. I shop there quite a bit since its close to my house. A gentleman I guess is the manager gave us a dressing down for " being in the wrong place for the register line". We were last in the line that was already there. He was really agressive about it. I mean really agressive. So sorry for shopping in your store. Maybe I won't anymore then I won't break the rules. Karen one of the cashiers tried to smooth things out with me but the damage was done.

Everytime I go to this particular store, there is always an issue with a price! Either the item just doesnt ring up right or the tag has expired but has not been taken down. When I address the cashier/manager about a price, they get very annoyed and say "Well, show me where it is!" After I show them they go back and make the correction, without saying a word, not even an APOLOGY!!! It makes me feel very uncomfortable! There are only about 3 employees that are actually friendly!! I have NEVER been in a store before where the MANAGER and most of the employees have NO customer service skills and are just plain RUDE!! For this reason, and this reason ONLY, I rarely go in there! But when I am desperate, I will go there, and it never fails...there is ALWAYS a problem and they could care less!! Its very disappointing!!!!!

Always go to Dollar General in my areaI needed an appliance bulb. Was able to look online to see if they stocked it and how much. It was available at two of my area Dollar Generals. When there had to ask where it was but the friendly cashier told me exactly where it was. Found it and as always picked a few other things

Rude cashier. Long lines and my cashier ran out to his car during my transaction!!!! Had to wait for him to return after waiting on a long line. No apology, no explanation. He just told the other cashier he was heading out to his car and left. She was busy with her own long line. Crazy! Never experienced such rude behavior.

It doesn't take long before you are recognized as local. Friendly staff and even other people generally watch out for each other. Usually clean and often restocking somewhere so aisles may sometimes be restricted as staff tries to unload and place new product on shelf.
