Deli is the worst. As usual get ignored and then attitude when I ask for service. Told her I wanted ham and instead she gave me turkey turned and walked away without asking if I wanted anything else. MANAGEMENT get better employees! I’m done with this store and their rude people.

I have recently relocated to Lakeside, AZ (September 2023). I visited the Lakeside Safeway today for my groceries. At the checkout - I had the pleasure of interacting with "Charity". She was checking me out, but also packing my groceries. In all of my years of grocery shopping, NOT ONE PERSON has EVER packed my food with such care! (**I have certainly been the recipient of those who take ZERO care and throw cans on top of tomatoes; place the food in bags so that when you lift it, your food just falls out onto the ground... etc. -- I absolutely WILL unpack and repack my food right then and there if it a seriously bad packing job!) This post may seem like a nothing-post, but people's groceries are important! This has long been a pet-peeve of mine.Charity packed my groceries to perfection and absolutely deserves a shout-out for her care and thoughtfulness! It is RARE! And very much appreciated!! I will seek her out now when I go shopping - she makes the difference between just choosing any old aisle for checkout - or her! THANK YOU Charity!

Slightly concerning experience at self checkout on Saturday 11/4 in the evening. My wife and I came up from Phoenix for the weekend to celebrate our anniversary, and stopped by for dinner supplies and some beer/wine. The woman monitoring self checkout appeared to be very friendly to the people in line, (although she was talking poorly about people who had recently ended their employment with the store) however when engaging with us, it appeared that upon taking notice of my wife’s colorful hair and alternative appearance, her expression and demeanor turned very cold and unwelcoming. Both of us smiled at her, we got a sour face from her in return. When we scanned our adult beverages, we both pulled out our ID’s and offered them to her, but she didn’t look at them or speak to us at all, just quickly came up and put in an approval. We both look under the age of 35, and expected to be ID’d, especially being different faces in a small town, and wanted to respectfully play our part in purchasing alcohol. This should be concerning as I fear what may happen if an alternative looking person with a fake ID came in, and your store breaks the law due to one persons intolerance. With the way her demeanor changed so suddenly, and how dismissive she was of us during our transaction, it made us quite uncomfortable and nervous about choosing to visit Pinetop for our celebration. Thankfully the rest of the weekend went very well and other residents of Pinetop shared mutual respect, kindness, and tolerance of different people.The only reason I’m not giving a 1 is because of the gentleman working the deli. He was quick, thorough and attentive, and we had a wonderful steak dinner thanks to him.Please address DEI with your staff. Thank you.

This store has many issues. First issue I noticed is how rude everyone is that works there. If you can't provide customer service, then they should find a job somewhere else. The service Deli needs a serious attitude adjustment! Second issue, they know how busy it gets every summer with all the flat landers so you think they would double their order to have enough food for the locals and the tourist that we can't stand. But no, that's not the case instead you have a store with empty shelves most of the summer months.

Good store but internet is basically non existent inside of your one of they "Just 4 U" members. You will not be able to add anything to your list once inside so don't try or you won't ba able to get back to your list. Luckily the checkout person was very helpful and made sure we got all of our duscounts.

Absolutely AWESOME store! Best meat selection in the White Mountains! You can get a dozen long stem roses in many colors for $12.99 and they smell And last for several weeks. Weekly specials are fantastic and helpful. Associates are the best! They will drop when they are doing to assist with questions and needs!! Absolutely the best!!!

I moved to Lakeside 3 weeks ago, I love it and people are friendly except some employees at this Safeway, some are down right rude! I went to the self-check and started to put my items on the counter, two employees came up behind me and rudely said "There is a reason there's a closed sign on this register", WHAT? this was the third time I have been treated badly by employees and it was the last straw and asked to speak with the manager... sadly no change. I went to deli for fried chicken yesterday, once I received my chicken I said thank you very much, the gal didn't say a word to me....just walked away!!! Their attitudes really put a damper on the beautiful scenery on the mountain.

Most complete grocery store. Excellent cashiers! Not 5 stars because the meat dept cutters routinely hide the excessive (way beyond a reasonable 1/4") fat trimmings on the bottom where you can't see what you're buying on the multiple steak Styrofoam trays, which I find to be disreputable. At least display an accurate depiction of what we are buying, please.

My experience yesterday was awful. I was looking for a box of gift chocolates and had to walk the whole store to find an associate. When I asked, she didn't even look at me, she pointed and said aisle 13. It was rude. The shelves were almost empty. I ended up grabbing something else because there was no boxed chocolate.I checked out at Starbucks inside the store because I wanted coffee. The first cashier was polite but something went wrong. She had scanned my Starbucks pay phone app and then I ran my card. They said it wouldn't take after having me run it twice. So, I ran a different card. They said that one only ran for $2. I said that's impossible. They ran my stuff 6 times claiming that I needed to do it again and again. While I was taking to a new cashier she turned her back and started talking to the other girls and laughing. I said, hey I'm taking to you and your being rude. I was Shocked. I went to find a manager and before I could, I left crying because I have never been treated so poorly by people I wanted to pay for a service. I will never go back in there. I can't believe Safeway and Starbucks allows such rude employees to work there. I have never been treated with such contempt and disrespect.

This store needs major improvements in the deli department,I was there today at 3pm and they still had rotisserie chickens on the hot plate that was cooked at 830.I asked a employee what the shelf life was and I was told 4 hours,some of the bags were open and the chicken was rock hard.The employee quickly removed the product.I asked if they had fresh ones ready and she said they’ll be ready in 30 minutes.I continued shopping and returned to the deli and they were bagging the freshly cooked ones,a employee handed me a fresh one.I arrived home and cut into the freshly cooked chicken and blood was running out of it.No where on this chicken is a mark where the temperature was checked.Also in fine cheese section there is expired goat cheese from September,the packages are about to explode.Don’t they check for out dates,this store needs attention.

My trip to Safeway today in Lakeside was as usual a good shop. They always have the best vegetables and of course great meat cuts. The only thing that I would like to see changed are the prices they are quite high. I am not sure how people are making it work with at home healthy meals with prices being so high?Thanks Safeway

The costumer service is top notch. However, the registers and app are the worst here. Every week the discounts are not applied. On average I'm overcharged $4-16. I add things to my app, scan the bar codes and it isn't applied at the register. The in-store discounts aren't applied. For a couple of years they've claimed they are going to update the store. I hope they do this summer and update the internet so it's worth it to shop here. I know I'm not the only local over it.

Safeway always inspires me to create great meals. The produce is so fresh! And I can almost always find the cuts of meat that I need, like skirt steak. I just wish they could figure out and streamline the check-out process.

Staff letting multiple family in when they have signs saying only one per family. I always do my shopping here but today was a different experience. I get that everyone wants to be on the safe side. Employees need proper training had one person practically breathing down my back
