Simply outstanding place to visit. Excellent service, but the best aspect would be the fantastic selection of native art. Prices range from low entry level bargains and opportunities to high end level rare finds and exquisite pieces of native art work. While the awesome display of Indian tents caught my eye from the freeway (drawing me in) the best part of the experience was the inventory and displays within.

I have nothing but good things to say. There are two sides to this business. The first is the typical trinkets found in just about any "tourist" store. If you are looking to satisfy the children you will also find the trinkets are very reasonably priced. They also have touristy stuff outside that young kids enjoy. Great for some out-of-car time for young non-drivers.If you are a rock, or crystal person you will not be disappointed. The jewelry behind the counter is created by local artists. I think it is a consignment and I like supporting the artists directly this way. After purchasing a very nice sterling silver turquoise bracelet I was so happy that Denise? then told me to follow her to the "rug room". (Being an old Marine I silently chucked inside.) She then unlocked a door in the side area to show me super high-quality authentic items. I will not talk about them here but please look at my videos and photos as I took many photographs. The hand-crafted detail was mesmerizing.I must thank Denise and Betty for showing me around.CAUTION...I DROVE IN FROM THE WEST AND YOU WILL MISS THE HARD RIGHT TURN IMMEDIATELY AFTER YOU EXIT. IF COMING FROM THE WEST DO NOT GO INTO A NARROW TUNNEL. MAKE A HARD RIGHT 180-DEGREE TURN THROUGH THE ITTY BITTY GATE.If you want trinkets they have them...the question is if your budget can afford some of their "trinkets". If you have a special someone in your life that likes turquoise this place will bring a smile to their face.May this business have nothing but peace and prosperity.

Outstanding shop & worth a stop! The grounds of the giftshop is really neat, plenty of photo opportunities for the family! This was by far the best selection of artisan items we've seen so far! Affordable prices and some rare finds! The ladies who work here were extremely friendly and helpful!

Very beautiful and reasonably priced handmade jewelry. Better than some I’ve see. The woman who runs the store was very polite and helpful. Of all the “trading posts” and “souvenir shops” this is the one I would stop at. They have many unique items and offer a piece of free petrified wood. Also, have cute setups around the shop for kids to enjoy and make great photos.

Exactly what is needed for a kitschy experience on the road. This place is full of treasures from touristy junk to exquisite handmade jewelry and tons of petrified wood. A few teepees and a couple dinosaurs dot the perimeter of the parking lot. Restrooms are nice. Employees were very courteous and helpful!

It was nice. There is a big selection of items native to the area. I'd already purchased petrified wood at another store, so I was in search of sandstone. I found an awesome sandstone photo frame for a very reasonable price and was able to complete the purchase with minimal effort. Definitely worth the stop if you're in the area.

I have driven several times between Arizona and New Mexico and have always wanted to stop at Painted Desert Indian Center. Well I finally stopped. The ladies that greeted us were very friendly and kind. I enjoyed browsing through the store looking at all the items that they offer. This was well worth our stop and a bonus was they had very clean and beautiful restrooms. I will definitely be stopping by again on our next trip.

Overall pleasant experience. I felt slightly weird vibes from one of the ladies working there. I'm not sure if she didn't trust me because I had a child or because I'm not fully white. I was courteous and polite the entire time we were there though. The receipt also makes it unclear on what I was charged for certain items which is not ideal but that's okay. Great photo ops there though.

No phones on inside, but we did get pictures outside and wow, what a great shop! Items and gifts for every budget, including varieties of petrified wood ranging from under 1$ to 6000$ all of them wonderful! There are all kinds of art and sculpture and just sheer brilliant and full hearted craftsmenship; plus some touristy souvenirs of the manufactured art kinds. The vibes of the place is awesome, very relaxed and filled with love. My twin and I will be coming back! It's so well worth the stop!

Stop in and shop for a minute. Great place to soak up the old Route 66. There’s not much more than a photo op, but the gift shop does not disappoint in kitchy wares from a road-trip.

We shopped here in 2019 and bought 2 Navajo rugs with the assistance of Mrs Betty. Had them matted, framed and under glass as recommended. They are both focal points in our living room. We returned to the area in 2023 and again we were assisted by Mrs Betty. We purchased a 3rd rug, pottery and jewelry. We shopped at several other places in 2019 and we got educated by a few locals on what to look for in the rugs. We we’re grateful for your assistance and will see you in the future!

If you're looking for a nice stop with a shop, clean public bathrooms and a few photo opps you've found your place. Lots of authentic items and jewelry for sale along with some fun trinkets too. There are teepees that the kids liked exploring and metal dinosaurs to take pics with. They give each car a free piece of petrified wood and we also purchased whole geodes for $3 each that we will let our kids break open at home. Good stop!

Nice place to stop for a minute. Photo ops. Dinosaurs and T.P's to look at and take photos with. Beautiful petrified wishing well. Good prices. Beware the Chinese and other fillers in the gift shop. Ask first before buying. Friendly staff.

Pop in for the restrooms, stay for the dinos outside. Fun throwback souvenir shop just like the old days when family vacations involved rolling down the car windows and hitting the road.
