DO NOT ADOPT FROM HERE. PLEASE READ.My parents went in so excited to adopt this beautiful puppy and my parents are just sweethearts they treat their animals like they are their own children. My mom had her eyes set on this cute puppy. They made a phone call and were told to head over to the animal league. (there’s literally no point in going because they don’t let you bond with the animals unless you’ve already adopted it) After a few questions with my parents everything seemed to go well until they asked if my parents worked. My dad said yes but that my mom was only gone for 4 hours throughout the entire day and that my grandma would pet sit for them until my mom’s shift was over. The lady completely shut them down right away after that, said “Well if you would have told me that over the phone, I wouldn’t have made you come down here.” with lots of attitude. Told them that they couldn’t adopt the dog because they need someone home with them 24 hours a day…RIDICULOUS. we have always had pets and we know very well how to take care of them especially a husky which we had cared for before in the past. she began to get rude with them and say that they can adopt but that they can’t adopt “THIS DOG” and proceeded to ask them if they wanted to adopt a cat instead???? I’m furious especially because my parents are the sweetest. They were so confused on why this lady was treating them the way she was and I am so mad. like we as a family are so understanding and we were and would have been but to be rude for NO reason?! like what is your problem?! So there goes a puppy who needed a great home to live in that was turned away because my family works…. SHAME ON YOU. It is because of you INHUMANE lady with such hatred that these dogs here aren’t getting adopted?! well screw you…i’m very disappointed.

I took my class on a field trip to the Animal League. Kim Eisele had a wonderful presentation for my elementary students regarding the facilities and how the students themselves should take care of their pets.My class enjoyed themselves so much! Thank you, Kim, and all your group of volunteers that made our field trip A+!

Weather you are looking to expand your family with a new Dog or Cat or are looking for something from the thrift store with gently used items it's definitely worth a trip to Green Valley Animal League.I adopted a little Dog a few years ago and I don't know how I got on without this bundle of joy. Rocky has enriched our lives each and every day. He's brought us so much love and company he really is a member of our family. The staff there is very devoted to these Animals. The love and care there is second too none. And after you adopt your new bundle of joy take the time to visit the thrift store where donated items are sold for pennies on the dollar. These sales help support the funds needed to run the adoption and care for the dogs and cats including the day to day expenses. There's a set adoption fee that includes all shots and cost for that particular pet no matter how much it cost them. These expenses can be quite high depending on what that particular pets needs are. And don't forget they accept donations at any time if you are able to help offset these costs. And don't forget to donate any of your household goods and good used clean clothing. So stop by and look around, you'll never know what you might come home with!!!

We showed up later in the day. The ladies in the car area were very kind and accommodating of my girls' high energy. The site was well maintained and we were able to meet and bring home the newest member of our family.

Jean and her massive crew of volunteers deserve the highest accolades for the quality of their facility and the care that they give the 4-legged residents. This is a No-Kill shelter that protects and cares for cats, dogs, and birds. Believe it or not, you have to get on a waiting list to reserve a spot for a pet that you want to give away. And this is after a huge expansion over the last several years that virtually doubled their capacity. The Rottweiler that I have always wanted, for at least 35 years when my two daughters were young and chose a cool little dog instead, was discovered here secretly by my wife about 6 years ago. She took me all the way down to Green Valley (a 2 hour drive from the Oracle area) one hot September day to check him out. The moment I saw him there was no question and he and I bonded deeply over the next 45 minutes, while the adoption paperwork was being reviewed and signed. They called him "Copper Dan" and we renamed him "Raji"which means "King" in Hindi. He is the most talkative dog I've ever heard and he is also the most tactile, a Rottweiler trait typically reserved for touching the herd that the dog protects in order to feel the vibes as they travel quickly through many bodies at first sign of a predator. Raji made devoted sponsors of us toward the Animal League of Green Valley. I will always be grateful that they exist and that other people can find the 4-legged friend of the dreams. The League operates a second-hand/curio/antique store immediately next door. They accept furniture and other donations which can then translate into money to help pay the operating costs of the huge facility. Thanks Jean and all the passionate volunteers. You bring a lot of love into the animals' lives as well as to their humans caretakers.

We scheduled a visit to meet our new beloved Pet, Hank. October 17. The reception, attentiveness of staff, were exceptional. They were very eager to provide us with a detailed history, and resource information. We could not be happier with our adoption, and look forward to many years with this guy! They allowed us to spend a good half hour with him, walk with him, and play with him. He has settled in beautifully in our home. Thank you to all the staff and volunteers at the Animal League.

I've adopted my last dog from them 7-8 years ago. He was the best dog I've owned since childhood. I was fortunate enough to get him as a puppy. Hoping to get another puppy but they don't last long here. I found a cute little guy about a year old but he is a little too little as he would be sharing the house with three senior citizens and I'm afraid he'll get hurt getting underfoot. I'll keep trying and I'm sure the right companion will come along when I least expect it. 😁If you are thinking about getting a new member of the family, this should be your first place to look. I'm sure you won't be disappointed. My buddy Rocky.

We adopted a bonded pair of adult cats from here 6 weeks ago, and we are SO impressed by the dedication of everyone at this shelter. Our kitties were surrendered under (for them) very stressful circumstances, from what we read in their bios, but the staff and volunteers ensured that their health needs were met, and that their sad little hearts began to heal. They settled in with us incredibly quickly, which is attributable to the care and work of the awesome staff and volunteers.TALGV does wonderful work on behalf of pets who lose their homes for any reason, and they are determined to provide or find a home for each animal that is surrendered to their care.PLEASE ADOPT, when looking for a furry addition to your family!! and support the Animal League through donating to or buying from their on site thrift store, or volunteering there.

Kind and dedicated people with huge hearts work and volunteer here. I'm so grateful to the Animal League for both of our sweet fur babies Nya & Piper. Nya is my beautiful black kitty & the silkiest, most playful loving diva on earth. Piper, my little orange rascal - has a severe congenital issue with his right eye. He was rescued by the Animal League as a very young kitten and I am so SO very grateful for this sweetest of angels in my life and to the people at the Animal league for this kitties life. We are so blessed that they got him the medical care and tons of love he needed and deserved. He is truly one of the most loving and extraordinarily affectionate beings on the planet. Keep up the good work Animal League of Green Valley, AZ!

My long term experience has not been pleasant here. I was lied too, discriminated against, and had so sympathy or empathy towards my situation. “Foster parents get first say on if they want to adopt” is a complete lie.Kareen, kim, and Sue are accountable.

We adopted Maya 8 months ago. The volunteers were helpful and answered all of our questions throughout the adoption process! The fee was extremely reasonable, about $85. It included her vaccinations and spay surgery. We also found an animal crate at the thrift store for $5. Maya has been a joy since day 1 and training her has been a breeze. I wholeheartedly recommend adopting from this organization!

This place is great they're doing good work for dogs and cats the volunteers friendly some of the people you have to deal with her a little batty but if you had much experience with any animal shelter those are the kind of people that make those places run.We adopted an adorable five and a half month old Mastiff he is one of the best dogs we've ever had

Never been here before, I didn't realize they closed at 2. My boyfriend and I decided to walk around and look at the cats and the ladies who worked with cats were so nice and told us we could walk around outside and look. I left a 1 star review because we walked a little farther down to look at the dogs. My boyfriend asked a lady what breed some of the dogs were and she flat out said she didn't know. We continued to look and the lady then made a comment that they closed at 2, it was about 2:10. She obviously didn't want us there. Really bad experience, apparently there is no such thing as being kind anymore. Apparently walking around outside really bothered them. I was really interested in adopting a dog and/or cat but not after being treated so rudely. You would think the volunteers would enjoy what they are doing.

They denied me from rescuing a kitten due to the fact of me wanting to give the cat a better life and to take the cat out for walks(on a leash). They said they do not want "their" cats outside. So while they are packed full of cats and kittens, doing a 2 for 1 deal trying to get rid of them, they will deny you if you want to let your cat outside and enjoy life even a little bit

My husband and I love coming to this place! They're smart at constantly moving their inventory, so it's always fun no matter what day of the week. All the staff/volunteers are so helpful and it's always good to know your spending goes towards helping the fluffs!

I've been there on many occasions. The first time wasn't bad. We were treated very very well. We adopted our pup and were very happy. Well it is been 2 yrs and we were thinking about getting another. So we went to look. Day 1 was great. The kids got to look at the dogs and pet a few. Then came yesterday. My husband came with us and we were treated like the dogs were too good for us. We were told where we could pet them. We were told that we could not hold the dog. The lady wouldn't even put it down on the floor for him to go between the children. It got to be so ridiculous. So we went to the front to put a dog on hold and no one knew what kind of hold was on the dog which really is kind of stupid. We had all kinds of questions but the lady that could answer the questions wasn't feeling well. One lady who can answer questions???? Seriously!!! I was fuming. All-in-all every volunteer there acting like they didn't want us to adopt a dog. Edit: Was helped by Sandy. AMAZING! She was great.

We just adopted our third dog from TALGV and once also the entire process has been a great success. It is a small shelter, and the all-volunteer staff works incredibly hard to get to know each dog and cat. When you read through the dog and cat bios, you will see that the staff takes care to assess each animal's personality, strengths and needs and then TELLS YOU what you need to know before adopting. They vet each potential owner and their living situation to make sure it it is a good match with the cat or dog, they observe the potential owner and pet together, and they even require a meet-and-greet with other animals in the home before the adoption is finalized. It takes a lot of work, but in the end it's the best way to have a successful match. The Animal League has a great thrift shop and we donate all of our unneeded household goods there. 100% of all donations go to caring for the animals.

We had two kitties that were both nice but one was just too rambunctious. He went there and was quickly adopted out to a family with kids to keep him busy. The staff is very knowledgeable and kind.

Animal league is a great place to go for many reasons. You are able to look into adoption for a dog or cat, you can volunteer for the animal league, you can donate belongings to the thrift store up front of the building and or you can buy from the thrift store. This is all for a great cause with helping the animal league and its mission statement for helping cats and dogs. It is easy to get your hands on some amazing finds, you just have to look. The Staff here is willing to help and always smiling. The staff is always so pleasant when coming or going, whether you bought something or not. Go check out this gem!
