I have been using Petco for 5 years for grooming my dog. We recently moved to Arizona and on our second time using them to groom our dog they mentioned on pick up he was a little sassy. Well I guess despite having restraints they decided to not compete his grooming. His whole backside was unshaven. No discount for not finishing or anything. If you are professional groomer you must have tricks of trade to work on sassy dogs. This dog has never even growled at anyone. He doesn’t like brushing but without restraints we brush him and yes he doesn’t enjoy it, but never has he got mean. You charge a lot for grooming. I expect more.

I go here for great customer service and excellent product choices. Their dog training package that includes AKC Good Citizen testing I've not found anywhere else. I like the positive training and doing the training myself rather than dropping my dog's off someplace and not knowing what methods are used on them. The trainers explain how and why the training exercises are done and give homework that only take a few minutes a day. Highly recommend!

My dog loves the staff at Petco. We signed up for the Vital Care and love all the benefits that come with it. The vet staff are so good to my dog! The rooms are clean and my dog has no problem relaxing while we wait. In fact, you can see by her wagging tail, she is excited to be here.

I advised I needed 15 female fish. I spent over $80 and only two are female. Your fish are not kept in separate tanks and your people need to be trained better on the fish they're selling. Now I have 30 males and 6 females. My problem has now been doubled.

Petco's service, Vetco, is no longer a quality service for cat owners in the valley due to a vet tech by the name of "Brianna". We have used Petco and Vetco's services for years. We have taken our cats for shots multiple times and NEVER had an issue. Our cats are fully domesticated and do not bite or scratch people, they have completely normal cat behavior.It came due to get our cat his rabies vaccine so we went to the Petco at Ocotillo and Rittenhouse. Brianna refused to get our cat out of his pet carrier and would not let us, the owners, get him out either. She refused us service because our cat hissed. We assured her that he would not bite but she would not listen to us.We were NEVER informed of this, but apparently they put in our file that we are no longer able to use Vetco's services due to our cat hissing. We attempted a second Vetco clinic at the Petco at Val Vista and Warner the next day. Low and behold, Brianna was also there and told us that our cat would not be helped because she did not want to take the risk of getting bitten.We were then informed that we were not welcome back at Vetco. Brianna hates cats and now we lost the use of the Vetco service because of ONE incompetent vet tech that hates cats.I would also note this was not limited to just us. While we were at Val Vista and Warner, Brianna also refused service to a kitten for a similar reason. I talked to the lady who was refused service as well and she also indicated that she has been a frequent customer as well and never was refused service on her car until Brianna.

This Petco location has a pet-hospital. I found the technician and the vet are very good. The technician was able to draw blood without any trouble, I liked that. My goal is to transition from Nova's current vet to Vetco this year. I will post more after the next visit.

Staff was friendly and helpful when I got there but nobody ever answers the phone and messages aren’t returned. Also the coupon that was emailed to me for my visit was already expired. It was emailed on 3/2/24 and expired 2/29/24 and staff wouldn’t honor it. Felt like a bait and switch.

Staff are so friendly! They even know my dog's name when we come in. It's like Cheers where everybody's knows your name. Plus there is a good selection especially now since you've added higher quality food choices.

I wish I got her name 🤦🏻‍♀️ the girl that helped me was wonderful. She made Banksy (my 6 month old Boston Terrier puppy) feel safe, happy and cared for the entire time he was getting his ears cleaned, and his nails done, she explained that she would try to buff the nails but wouldn’t put him under unnecessary stress if he shows signs of it. She did a WONDERFUL job and even had one of the other groomers help snuggle Banksy so he was able to focus on lovin instead of the nail trim. Brilliant job and very much appreciated. You guys are wonderful and we will for sure be back. We’re working on getting used to the sound and feel of the grinder at home so he’s more fun next time 🤞🏻🤣 Thanks so much for being gentle and caring with our boy

I went in to adopt some cats from a save cats az and I forgot my cat carrier at home so I was going to by a small cat carrier from you guys but the price was OUTRAGEOUS 79.99 for a small cat carrier when I bought the same exact one at walmart for $10. You are ripping people off and it is absolutely ridiculous you should be ashamed.You can find everything in a petco way cheaper outside!! Definitely recommend shopping elsewhere.

I went to get a large bag of Purina One, but the 2 bags there were best by March 2023, the small bags were April 2025! The checkout gal asked me if I found what I was looking for and I said "kinda" and explained. She said that I could get 2 bags at the same price per pound as the big bag, and I said yay!Great customer service!

Took my doodle( poodle mix) for his 1st shots, he was a week to young so we were explained about the extra cost, given ways to prevent Parvo and rescheduled. I appreciate honesty over trying to make a buck!!! We got name tags and a jersey for our Bully pit. The Jersey was costly...but hey- its THE Ohio State Buckeyes!!

By far the worst conditions I've seen for fish, came in to look for a pleco for my tank. The options were really limited (didn’t even have any plecos) and when I looked for other fish to get... I found so many dead ones. Really disheartening that these fish are dying like this. I 100% would not trust the health of fish you get from here, part of me felt bad and wanted to take some home but I didn't want to have anything passed onto my own fish. I did see a couple that looked sick as well and were swimming upside down but couldn't get pictures of the two I saw.Super shameful, worst Petco experience to date.

First time coming to this location. Atmosphere was chill at first . Drove over an hour to come to this location to possibly make a purchase on a new pet . The first guy was busy and called another employee over to say that people wanted to play with the animals . Caleb came over and the way he approached and the manner in which he spoke was very rude . Though he said he wasn't trying to to be rude it came off very rude to the point if the person wanted to make sure they pick the right pet or not they are robbed of the options to pick and interact with any because he says the animals can get covid if touched if a person breaths over the multiple holed cage top the animals would still catch covid . I would advise to not purchase something without checking if it is a right fit . Don't let the employees talk disrespectfully to you when you won't being disrespectful to begin with. With the action on the encounter I proceeded to leave Unprofessional . As leaving out 3 employees stood by the door to intimidate.

Signed up for the puppy training course and got lumped in with the adult dogs who were there for behavior issues, not fun. I shared my concerns about vaccinations as well as my pup is not fully vaccinated yet. (which were never asked of me), but i was told not to listen to my vet, that I'm "good." My 3 month old goldendoodle with a 2 y.o. German Shepherd, Doberman pincher, and Boxer (none could go near each other due to fear of biting). Training was okay. However, they canceled on me and switched me to 3 different classes due to people not showing up. Signed up in February and got about 3 classes total in by 2nd week in April. I got a refund, despite the trainer consistently saying AZ doesn't give refunds for "services."

The cashier picked up the phone as I was approaching the register, there was no greeting, no eye contact, and no communication through the whole transaction. I didn’t mind him taking the call and responding to another customer inquiries but it would have been considerate for an employee to acknowledge a customer during checkout, such as hello, total amount for the transaction or a thank you have a nice day. What most stood out was that the employee’s demeanor was disengaged and expressed no interest in being there.

My dog was in distress with an ear infection. I came in at 9am when you open. I was looking for a specific item (zymox). Nobody to assist me in finding it on the floor. Cashier said she could not leave her register, and I found her extremely rude. Did I mention she was not at her register, but out front stocking shelves. I did find what I was looking for, on my own. I checked out with the same cashier and asked about price matching, because your price was $7 more than your competitors, she was rude again.
