HORRIBLE! This store was a bigger MESS than usual!! The pic is from 1 of the good rows - at least you could get through this one - there were many that you couldn't. I never have a problem with the staff - they are very nice.But maybe they need more staff.Definitely need to do the stocking of the shelves during closed hours!!!

Employees at this store care more about stocking than they do about enabling customers to check out. No self-checkout is ever open here and they make you stand at the counter for several minutes before one of multiple employees can be bothered to stop stocking and come to the register. What are they in business for if not to HELP CUSTOMERS buy Dollar General products?

I frequently shop at the location off of Main St. in Cottonwood as it's very close to my home. I usually have a decent experience, they have cute things and I love the $1 section. That being said, I'm disappointed with how some of the employees behave. I understand wholeheartedly that people have bad days and get overwhelmed...HOWEVER, this should not be taken out on the customers! When I went in today, a display had fallen over, which the cashier/manager did point out so I could avoid it. Seeing that he was obviously very busy, I thought I would try and help by picking it up but I hesitated for just a second to think out the easiest way to do it. Well the manager LEFT THE REGISTER with a line full of people and ANGRILY picked it up and was snapping at me about how he didn't have time to pick it up yet because he was busy with customers. I WAS JUST TRYING TO HELP!!!!! I just left the store and went and cried in my car for 10 minutes in disbelief. SO to sum up....I will never shop this location again. Don't treat your loyal customers, OR ANYONE, like s**t!!!

The store is usually well stocked, however there is usually a line of approx 4 people in checkout. Manager is extremely helpful and pleasant.

On 3-2-2020 at approx. 8:45am I stopped into Dollar General on Main St. in Cottonwood; on my way to work to pick up a few items. I got these items and went to the register where one person was already standing and we waited over 5 minutes for somebody to come to the register. No bell to ring. Finally a man came to the register, rang up the person ahead of me, then rang my purchase up and I paid using my debit card. Before I finished with the transaction on the machine, the employee felt he was done and he just left the register. As he walked away without a word, I finished my transaction and I saw a bag with some of my purchases on the spindle. I only had 16.00 worth of merchandise, mostly small stuff... I grabbed my bag and left. When I got to work I realized that only about 3.00 worth of my items were in the bag. I called the store (less than 10 minutes had passed) and I told the person answering the phone (I'm sure it was the same person who rang me up at the register) what had happened and asked if my other bag of items was still there. I was told I needed to tell to him exactly what was supposed to be in the bag before he could answer that question. I read it to him from my receipt. I had only motioned 2 of the items I was missing before he cut me off and said: Nope. Nothing here. Because I was paying attention to my debit card transaction and not to him bagging my purchases, I didn't know there were two bags. Everything was small and light enough to have gone into the one HUGE bag that only 3 items were in. This particular employee is always away from the register when he is at work. There are people lined up, waiting before he comes from somewhere in the store and rings people out. He is never pleasant or helpful. I realize that I have to take some responsibility in this, but I believe that had he been courteous enough to wait until I finished the transaction using the debit card machine (and I wasn't slow) and handed me the receipt, instead of laying it on the counter, or had he said 'you have two bags' like the employees do at other Dollar General's (and Family Dollar) do, I believe this would not have happened. Its almost like I was a bother to him, because he just walked away without a word after his register opened and closed. There was nobody in line behind me when I left the store. Regardless, I doubt if I will be shopping at this store again any time soon. LP Cottonwood AZ

I recently shopped at dollar general, and at checkout, I asked the clerk if the credit card machine was set up to take touchless payment. ( not all do, and I was just asking) . He very sarcastically remarked that he didn't know, and perhaps I should wink at it. I tried touchless, and it took it no problem. Then he continued on, remarking that he doesn't pay attention to technology, and the more technology the worse things are...... some one in line behind me grunted "Yeah" ..... okay- what now? You work here and you can't say yes or no to a question? I took my bag, because he left it in the bag holder, and didn't offer it to me, and walked out. I was very disappointed with the huge lack of customer service.

I simply wanted one item as I was walking through the door . The front register clerk was very nice and greetfull. As I was walking around the staff greeting my son and I with big smiles . Then it was checking out time . I only had a $20for the one item I went to get in the for place. I saw A set of headphones for my 2 year old son and asked how much ? 5 bucks more then I had. She saw they would have been so beneficial for my trip ( son's use ) she marked it down a little so I would be able to get the two items . Felt blessed 🙏

I like a good value and and shop at General Dollars in general but this location is always very messy. The shelves look like they haven't been recovered in awhile. The store isn't able to keep an accurate account of the inventory. How do district and regional managers allow this? Too bad.

I visit this dollar general frequently. Throughout the pandemic they have kept a professional approach. I know they're have discrepancies about mask wearing but who wants to unload multiple pallets of freight, wearing a mask that restricts breathing? The store is clean, uncluttered and well managed. They also have the 5 off on Saturday's for purchases over 25 dollars! Go check them out!

Employees were great, but unfortunately customers still shopping without masks presenting health risks to other customers even though signs are posted that a mask must be worn to shop/enter store. One lady even coughed while exiting.

I went there was not given a receipt by a manager and then when I went to return the items he called me a liar when I told him I didn't have a receipt and threw a fit about giving me a refund and insisted that it only had to go on a card. I'm back in to speak to the other employee about getting a number for General Manager he fumbled around on his phone proceeded to call someone else to get me to speak with her and didn't grasp the concept but I wanted the general managers phone number. The employees at the Cottonwood one look like drug addicts they're completely incompetent the job is not difficult I will never return again

It was a great visit to one of my favorite go to places to buy paper products and cleaning supplies. I even found Clorox wipes which I haven't seen in 7months and as an added bonus I found $11 in the parking lot 😀

This is one of those trashy little dollar knock off stores. You know the kind I'm talking about, the ones that ride on the back of the brand name chain of retail store that actually has everything in the store for a dollar.You get lured in because you think it's a dollar store and then you find very little inside the store that's is a dollar.?!And the things that cost a dollar, are probably what you wouldn't want to buy anyways.But, I give them 3 stars for effort, and take one back for plagiarism. Final score, 2 Stars.

I shop here for toiletries, such as shaving cream, body powder, mouthwash, hair conditioner, shampoo and foot powder. I can buy all the above for the price of one item at another store. The quality is just as good.

The appearance of this Dollar General Store very definitely shows that the employees just don't care! Merchandise is never straightened in the displays, is strewn all over the floor. Sitting everywhere, blocking the aisles are carts of new merchandise that has not been put on display.The place is just dirty, unkept and it is obvious that the staff simply do not care about doing their jobs. The Dollar General location out along 89A in Clarkdale is the much better choice.

There's quite a variety in this little store & fun to shop in. You could spend a couple hours easily just looking at their wide selection. Great place to shop low end!

They require a I.D. To purchase alcohol AND tobacco, even if your 100 years old, very annoying to say the least!!! Always a mess, you have a hard time simply going down a isle. You must ask permission to use the restroom, how embarrassing is that!!!

Because it's in Indio I love Indio I like the name I think Sonny and Cher did a great job in the highway names here give you a lot to think about Gene Autry. Frank Sinatra Captain Cook and so forth if you pay attention you will see that they all the same names just different webs if you look at a map you'll see what I'm talking about. It's all good it doesn't matter if you make a wrong turn in a bad neighborhood policeman or their fireman or their we are watching we're protecting and defending the Constitution of the United States of America as best the United States Supreme Court sees fit I personally requested all Americans pull together and end this crisis immediately we have to set the example for the world to be let out of slavery. We are the leaders of innovation ingenuity and most of all freedom to create and not be judged by others thank you America for making me the man I am today. I enjoy shopping here not just because of the price, because of the wonderful greating you get when you walk in. The morning cashier Jaquelyn makes sure you are welcome and she is always smiling and always busy in making sure your shopping experience is a very good one

Its good if you need quick stuff like juice, milk, & snacks etc. They have everything a regular dollar general would have but This place is usually always a wreck though i think they are low staffed. Somebody should help them out!

Hard to say why or what gave me this feeling but i felt in charge, felt like i owned this location. Honestly can say everyday i spend at minimum $40 & up at dollar general and can never remember to save and bring the coupon thing for sat & sun. Hate that i dont take my monies elsewhere

Great customer service which exudes a Mom & Pop General store feel. I racked up on clearance items for $15 that would have normally cost me $150 full price.

I love Dollar General. It's a good alternative to Walmart. The staff is friendly I always find what I'm looking for and I love the digital coupons
