Had an amazing experience here today! Recently acquired a hexagonal tank with a couple of fish, completely full of plastic plants 🤢. I came here to see what all they had and if I'd be able to make some improvements, and we definitely did! With the help of Matt we were able to make a custom center piece, stocked with a wide variety of living plant life! A couple suggestions on how to set it up given the unique tank and the possibilities that came with it, a long with this incredible, custom build to place in the middle! I've included some pictures of the process, I just completed the tank not even an hour prior so there are a couple things to tweak but it's late and it looks great for now! The price was beyond fair for what all was included, and the results are incredible. Thank you again Plants N Fins team!

Went there today and it was great plenty of plants.. and fins, lots of cichlids which can be hard to find lately but really an amazing plant selection and looks like they may be expanding to terrestrial animals, I purchased some glass frogs and a few pets I'll definitely be going back.. only down side is the buisness hours but if you can it's worth the visit

If you love fish keeping and plants you need to visit here! This is by far the best store when it comes to selection, atmosphere, and customer service. Compared to the others in the valley, this store has it all plus more. There are species of plants/animals I've never seen before in my life here! Very reasonable prices as well.Now the employees are what made my experience truly amazing yesterday. They were extremely kind and gave me personalized information based on my fish tank. I cannot stress enough how helpful they all were in helping me decide what is best for my tank. These people truly care and have extensive knowledge about what they do!There's also a lot of hands on stuff they can show you; while I was there a very nice man was demonstrating how to scape your tank with plants/rocks.The plants, fish, etc were all very well maintained too.Thanks for making my visit great and I urge others to check this place out!!!

This has become my new local store after one visit! The gentleman who greeted me was a reptile expert so once I started asking about aquatic plants by scientific name he pointed me kindly to Matt, the aquascaping expert. I went in an hour before close and left 45 minutes after the store hours. Every minute of my time there I was shown how much passion the staff had for their respective specialties and Matt answered all the questions I had and many I didn’t know to ask. He even put together an aquascape while teaching me! I never felt rushed and It was more like a crash course into aquatics and how to create a balanced ecosystem than a sales pitch on specific product. All in all I will not only be back but I will be recommending this spot to all friends and acquaintances!

The shop is very inviting. Super friendly staff getting you straight away and giving you the rundown of the whole store. Also very knowledgeable. The plant guy (didn’t catch his name) talked to us for quite a while, showing off some cool plants and giving some information about them in the process.Lots of cool fish, reptiles and arachnids to look at, with scapes to be inspired by.We don’t plan on buying anything, just wanted to check the place out, but can never leave empty handed so we got a couple plants for one of our aquariums, as well as a couple samples of their fish food. Definitely recommend checking them out 👍

This place is great! I have visited 3 times and all experiences have been wonderful. The staff is extensively knowledgeable in their field and I have learned so much in the few times I have gone there. Don't be afraid to ask questions! They love to educate you in anything you'd like to know.They are the go-to place if you are looking for more rarely seen species of fish. They are constantly getting new stock and they are things you would never see in a big brand store.They also have a great selection of plants to fill your tank and if you're lucky enough to run into Matt, you'll get a full course on how to utilize your plants and landscape in your aquarium and I honestly can't thank him enough for all he taught me.It's very hard to find local shops with such genuine people that are just as passionate about the hobby as you are, but Plants N Fins checks all the boxes for me. If you are looking for a new place to check out and maybe fill a new aquarium, I can't recommend them enough!

Super knowledgeable staff helped me get my shrimp and micro-fish 5gallon tank to a state of perfect equilibrium. They can help with water test results, water hardness testing, introducing new species to a tank, and more. I'm about to set up a new tank and they are stop #1 for me.

Julia, Devin, and Brittany were all so helpful, kind, and educated when asked any questions. They provided us with EVERYTHING we need to have a heathy community of fish. When helping us pick our fish they were very gentle with all fishes. Very happy with the store!

This place is wonderful, we had a 55 Gal tank that needed to be stocked. After visiting many other stores in the valley, we found the advice and fish we were looking for. We have stocked our tank with beautiful fish from Plants N Fins. The owner is very knowledgeable, he spends plenty of time with you ensuring your questions are answered. If your looking to start a tank this is the best place to go.We opted to go with the unsexed fish and we ended up with an amazing group of males, who are starting to color up very nice!They also carry custom blended bags of food that are designed for your fishes optimum health and coloring.They also have a great assortment of plants for fish tanks, terrariums and even beautiful house plants. .We will definitely be back again for our other tanks!

I’ve been getting live stock and plants from here for a few years. This is definitely a niche store but in a super cool way. They knock it out of the park as far as selection and pricing. They’re also great at finding oddball freshwater fish you wouldn’t see in any other store. I definitely recommend them for any freshwater fish or aquatic plant. They also have some cool terrestrial plants and frogs.

The amazing people over at Plants N Fins have gone above and beyond for me. Having just started a new 75 gallon tank, much larger than my 5 gallons, I was in need of a lot of help.The knowledge and care from the team was everything to me.I am very attached to my little fish and had no idea what would pair well with my little Mollies. After stocking up on a few more plants and quite a few more fish- we set off on our adventure! We came back days later for more fish and ordered a few more. For the past week, I’ve told everyone I know about this great place who I will be frequenting more often for everything we need for this new hobby of ours. Including getting my fish their food, as they stocked me up with all I will need. Highly recommend Plants N Fins for all your aquarium needs!

I had the best experience here! The two owners both helped me, but I only got one of their names(Mike). Both men were extremely knowledgeable. They gave me great advise as a first timer. They truly love what they do, and wanted to make sure I had everything I needed to give my fish a good home. They were not pushy or trying to sell me anything either, just genuinely ready to help me get what I needed! In fact they talked me out of buying plants I really wanted, because the breed of fish I liked don’t do well with plants. I will be back for more and more.Plus these are the most beautiful fish I have ever seen! I picked out 6, and honestly wanted 60 of them. I couldn’t believe it. Good prices too. Highly recommend!!! 10/5 best fish store I've been too. They have a great selection of fish and plants and a great wealth of knowledge. Other fish stores have felt real sales focused. Here they find sales through educating you so you can care for you fish better. I ended up with 10 beautiful cichlids 5 beautiful guppies and the funniest loach ever 🤣 also they have great fish food, I've never seen such a feeding response from my old fish and the new ones ate right away no problems 10/10 would recommend the food 200% recommend the store

Julia was very helpful and let me hold their Costa Rican tarántula for the very first time. Was very helpful and talked me through my fear, and loved the experience. Will be back for sure. :)

This is my go to LFS for African Cichlids! I have stocked 15 fishes in my 55 gallon from PnF, all of them look stunning and are bred in great water conditions. I will be getting some more very soon. Devin is amazing, you do have to wait for sometime especially on busy weekends because they are understaffed but once it’s your turn, Devin answers each of your questions patiently. The price that you pay for these fishes is about market average, but the quality of fishes are excellent and I highly recommend anyone on the lookout for African Cichlids to Plants n Fins. You will not be disappointed. I do have one suggestion to the owner though, it would be cool if you can throw in some deals like buy 5 get 1 free, that’s more motivation to buy more fish. They also have a great collection of plants and other tropical fish including some gorgeous looking bettas.

Great store with some really high quality fish and hard to find plants! All the fish I got here had gorgeous colors and great personalities. Also managed to get some buce plant and anubias species I haven't seen anywhere else. The employees are also knowledgeable and helpful. I'll definitely be back!

Best freshwater fish store currently in the chandler/Gilbert/mesa/Tempe area IMO. Staff knows a lot about all fish an plants. Lots of cool stuff if you look hard you find something you’ve always been looking for…I went in when they were low on plants but still had like 30 plus plants an really cool aquatic life. Also has alot of very cool nano tanks setup as not many people are informed on this style of fish keeping. I got a sword plant an red root floater. The first store in the valley to have red root floater.

Once we found the store it was top notch Mat was amazing. He helped my wife and I pick out some plants as well as gave us a lesson in etymology and how we should be planting our plants. Needless to say we were doing it wrong. Thank you Mat for all your help and we will be back.
