Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center is absolutely amazingYesterday (Saturday) I called in with an emergency colic situation24 hour stay with treatmentPer emergency visits it was $1000 deposit for his stay and his treatment and then they provided me an estimate best and worstI picked him up today… they told me they didn’t use the full deposit and my account is credited for the overage or I can get a refund. (I usually leave my credits on for good luck)I think it’s just absolutely amazing and unbelievable to even find emergency vets that are so honest and ethical and truly in it for the animals and not the greedI would have exhausted every credit card and bank account to save him and I could tell my husband was panicking on the drive out there because he knew that was absolutely a probabilityTheir team has a way of making you feel calm and filling you with hope without playing on your emotions. I will never go anywhere else.

I'm so disappointed. Emergency, after hours, my beloved mare lost her foal and retained the placenta. Called, and the afterhours person called me back and was super nice. I told her I was short on finances and would bring her in if it was cheaper. She ran an estimates and recommended farm call and had faith in the on call vet. From the second the on call vet arrived, she made it clear she was not happy to be there and acted like being at my tiny place was beneath her. The vet was unconfident, unfriendly, and on the phone the whole time getting instructions from another vet. Then, she did not want to do what the phone vet recommended. My hubby and I were so frustrated, then she finally did what the phone vet told her to, and the placenta came right out! I get my bill, and it's twice the estimate!!! I'm pretty angry at the disrespect that was shown! This on call vet did absolutely nothing on her own, she was either following our instructions or the instructions from the phone vet the entire time. I'll never use this clinic again.Edit: The clinic did reduce my bill after posting this honest review! For that I'm greatful!

My mare was losing wt cause unknown. Measured steps of blood work, abdominal ultra sound to rule out sand, etc, both of which were normal except for a tiny bit of sand. Next she stayed overnight and a scope for ulcers was done. Her stomach was full of grade 3-4 ( severe) ulcers. We formulated a treatment plan and she is starting to eat more after 2 weeks. The communication was mutual and clear. I was very pleased.

From the moment Alexander answered the phone to the end of the visit with Dr. Scott and his assistants I knew we were in excellent hands. My rescue horse doesn’t have a great prognosis because of lack of vet care. Don’t let that happen to you! Call these vets and be the reason your animal lives longer, stays healthier, and is happier!Alexander heard my situation and made me feel so much better. He was compassionate, kind, professional, and incredibly empathetic. He has such a positive outlook and is fantastic at his job.Dr Scott was incredible. He understood the situation, delivered unpleasant news with a positive, but realistic approach and took his time explaining all my options. I know that going forward, if there is any chance at saving this kind soul of an old horse, that he is with the right team. Please don’t hesitate to call them! I highly recommend!

My Arabian horse got kicked and had a large gash on her hind leg. I called Chaparral Veterinary and Dr. Geyer got out to see my Juliet within a few hours. Dr. Geyer did an excellent job bandaging her leg, and giving me explanation of the X-rays and future care. I am so relieved. I would recommend Chaparral Veterinary Medical Center to all.

I love Dr. A. We had been taking our mini schnauzer to another vet in town for the two years we lived there. After being told that our dog had what they thought to be a "swollen spleen" when getting a normal check up but "don't worry about it, and don't get on Google" we asked for a copy of her medical records and of course got on Google. After reading through the records of the past two years and seeing that this "swollen spleen" (which turned out to be cancer) had been giving a million red flags that were noted in her records, but never conveyed to us, we decided to see someone else. If we had been made aware of them, it might have put us in a position to try and save our dog.Enter Dr. A. I requested an apt online. Was seen the next day, after feeling my dogs spleen, doing x-rays and an ultra sound Dr. A advised us to go to get more testing done ASAP and even called the place to let them know I was on my way that day. She interpreted the results for us, and handled our entire situation exactly as she should have. Our dog was the light of our lives and she was very honest with us as to what we should expect even when I was "pretty sure she just has an auto immune disease." She made sure to make her last months very comfortable, took more than one tear filled phone call from me after she had a stroke asking if we should be bringing her in to keep her from suffering and she always lead us down the right path.We have since been relocated and our sweet doggy let go in her own way on her own terms and we really got to enjoy our last months with her because of the guidance of Dr. A. I can NOT say enough how great our experience with her was. I am only sad that my new puppy will not be in her care.

Good Dr's, caring staff BUT- disappointing that they refused to provide an estimate for a specific (PCR) test without 1st charging for an office visit. I've often felt that they put too much emphasis on $ and they were the only hospital that refused, that's like refusing to give a price on a spay or neuter till they first charge for a visit. Ridiculous.

Horse was in colicing and they came out ( to our ranch) in the am, not sure what they did but said he was better, by 3pm he was crashing and said to get him to this vet. Got there and 30 mins later they recommended to put him down. ABSOLUTELY CARELESS VET!!!Almost 9 hours went by and NO treatment!!!!!They should have immediately taken him to the facility but did not. We lost an amazing horse to people who didn't care!If you want to get rid of a horse go here, we are heart broken.

I needed to take my cat to the Emergency. They went out of their way to call me the next day to check on my kitty. I had questions about his condition and treatment options that were being presented to me. One of the veterniarians took the time out of their day to discuss my cats care and answer my questions. The vets are fantastic, caring and have the animals best interest. They explained the condition well and were honest about my horses condition. I did not want her euthanized but they laid it out there honestly. Not easy decision and I will not be over it for along time. But considering her suffering I couldn't have that either. I've been to this vet more than once with horse illness and each time they all were absolutely the best!! I recommend them 100%.

I have been taking my dogs here for several years now.
