Every dog I ever own will be sent to train with Sean. My dog did not have any huge behavioral issues. I enjoy a very active lifestyle and my dog comes everywhere with me. He goes to work with me, he goes to the gym, we roadtrip, we backpack, we rock climb. Because of this, I need my buddy to be highly trained. I basically wanted to make him bullet proof in my world. I did not have the time or tools to do the training myself. I found myself feeling frustrated with my buddy. I knew it wasn't his fault, and I knew I needed help. Several friends recommended Sean. I was apprehensive about leaving my dog with him for 4 weeks. I would do it again in a second! Sean exceeded all of my expectations. I still have to reinforce the training and boundaries, which does take work. I cannot express my gratitude enough. Sean is the best. My little adventure buddy is the best. I feel more bonded with him, the trust we have is mutual. The sky is the limit for my dog and I. I couldn't be happier!

We were staying nearby at the Verde Ranch RV resort. The resort had their flyers in the office. I called and set up 3 daycare days for our two dogs. Candy and her crew took great care of my dogs while we explored the area. Highly recommend Hillside!

There are just not even words in the English language to show my appreciate for the fine folks at Hillside Canine Resort. They were my angels.We were recently on a vacation in Camp Verde, and found ourselves in need of boarding for our poor cranky dog that does not get along with other campers, and was causing disturbances. Being from out of state, we consulted Google and was led to Hillside. After explaining our situation (and our dogs temperment) they told us no problem.We were in town for 3 days and left him there for boarding at very reasonable rates. Because I'm such a helicopter-dog-Mama, I called everyday to check on him, and they assured me that he was doing fine, hadnt bitten anyone (lol) and was even starting to like the staff.When we went to pick him up, he was held by a staff member and my dog was actually licking her, and let her pet him several times - I was gobsmacked. These people are dog whisperers, LOL.If I ever come back to the area, and have need of dog boarding or grooming, I would not hesitate even a second to call Hillside. I was so very impressed.

Until last last few months I had been happy with my relationship with Hillside. My dog had grooming and training there as well as occasional boarding. Then the staff had a rapid turnover, I paid for several weeks of additional training for my dog which was cancelled due to weather, trainer not being available, etc. I was leaving the area and asked for a refund of the $400 fee. Nope, not even a partial refund. A credit was offered but I was leaving the area so that was useless. Before I moved I had my dog groomed. Danielle had groomed her for years. Not only was this the most expensive grooming, but it was the worst. Obviously it was not done by Danielle. I assume she has also left. I recently asked fr the name of the product used for bathing the dogs as my dog has an itching problem that we’re trying to eliminate as a cause. Absolutely no response. I no longer will recommend this facility to anyone. Too bad because the staff had been great, then suddenly it was terrible.

10/10 recommend! I am so happy i found such an amazing place! I’ll definitely be bringing my dog back as well as my other dogs. The staff is great and the services are amazing. They made me feel very comfortable leaving my dog there and assured me she was in good hands.

My babies are my world, I wouldn’t trust just anyone to groom or board my girls. The ease I felt from the front desk to the groomers and even the trainers was amazing. I am new to the camp verde area and soo lucky to have found an amazing one stop shop that I know they care and take care of my fur babies. I had a scheduling issue on my end, they were flexible, and overly supportive. Being a small business owner myself is refreshing to see a family owned business that they all care and go above and beyond. I will refer to all I see and incredibly grateful to have a home away from home for my puppies!

I worked in Camp Verde for six months and am so thankful that I found Hillside Canine for doggy daycare and grooming! My pup, Biscuit was always so happy and comfortable during drop off and pick up. The staff was kind, helpful, and flexible with my work schedule! I can’t thank them enough for the great care they provided for my corgi!

Shannon, the groomer at the Dewey location is the BEST!! We have 2 rescues, one very senior with senior issues and one very nervous. She takes her time and is calm with them and they do great there and they look and smell wonderful!!! Highly recommend Shannon.

I have encountered the exact same situation as one of the more recent reviewers. I took my dog for obedience training in January. When my guy was there Tami was the glue that kept me connected. She sent videos, pictures, and texts. I paid for 2-4 week obedience training and 4 handler sessions. After the initial 4 week training was completed, I tried to schedule a handler session. I attempted for 4 weeks to schedule but each time it got cancelled due to weather, trainer not being available, etc. I asked for a refund of the $410 fee because at the time, I was moving out of the area. I worked with the owner (who is also the trainer) for another 2 months while he struggled to understand what happened, needed time to research, didn’t follow through with dates and times for call backs he committed to. Same pattern as no availability for scheduled classes! Plus, somewhere along the way the staff had a rapid turnover and Tami wasn’t there anymore. Eventually he agreed to a refund and set his office manager up to get the funds back to me. This was where it really got fun. Apparently he hired his ex wife to manage his office/business. She shut the whole refund down telling me what I was charged was a package. Maybe that’s true now but when I was charged in January I was told by staff I was paying for one service of boarding and training and another service of handler training. Each had its own price. They don’t publicly share their pricing so they can say anything and no one would ever know the difference. This guy might have been a good trainer at some point in time but it seems now he’s just greedy. He doesn’t want to do the work, he charges for all services upfront as a “package”, then will only offer credit even he can’t provide his own services. No where in America do you get to keep money for services you did not provide. My advice, Steer clear of this shade tree business.

Absolutely wonderful experience. It’s been 2.5 weeks since we had our dogs groomed. They must work magic here because our black lab still is not shedding. It’s amazing! We’ll definitely go back if we’re in the area.

Littermates for obedience and social training. They were horrible on lead, and aggressive. 6 week board and train turned into 8 + and just the anxiety of not having them was, well go figure, it's hard. Staff was amazing, Tami always gave me pics and vids. But the work that was expected for the almost $5000 was not what was expected. We put in our work as well, but I feel duped and if I felt like I could have had a case, I would have sued for at least half my money back. I don't think the trainer took the time for our pups and had other things to do. I'm disappointed and would not recommend them for training. I feel like I spent A LOT of $ for dogs that do really well on a lead. I love my dogs and wouldn't let them go for their behavior, but I did not get what I paid for. For the record I have cattle mutt mix dogs that yes I can take anywhere, but will not tolerate people or dogs they do not know and defend us and their home with leathel aggression. Not the best result, but I've said my peace. Do more research than we did.figure

Hillside Canine has been absolutely amazing from the very first time I took my pups (when Tami had to take an overly nervous mom aside and give me some advice that literally changed my dogs life). Not only do I feel completely at ease leaving my babies, they absolutely love to go! Tami, Mel and Sandy at Camp Verde are always so nice and helpful, I can't thank them all enough. They deserve 1000 stars!!

Super friendly staff. Ernie (the pup) seemed really comfortable and happy when I picked him up. He smelled good, and even had one of the best cuts he’s ever gotten. Also, I met with the trainer for some quick behavioral tips, complimentary. Overall, great experience! If l lived here full time, this would be my go to groomer!

Tammy and her staff are great. We were worried since we had not left our dog anywhere since the pandemic she had a rough first day as expected but ate well played outside with other dogs and smelled great when she got home we could being her own bed, toys and food The paper process is all available on line. The area has several play grassy and tree covered areas with a pool we are taking her back in Sept. 🤗

I just want to give a shout out to Anthony, the New Phone rep for Hillside canine. There has been A lot of times I was unable to get through to anyone on the phone, (lines busy) and my voicemails were rarely answered every time I have called in the past week Anthony has been quick to answer any questions I have about my dog that is boarding, and has answered my voicemails quickly. Anthony is very Charming to speak with also. Having the phone rep is an excellent idea and I just wanted to say thank you hillside canine for setting up a better communication system for our community.

I am so glad staff at Out of Africa park recommended hillside canine resort. Couldn’t be more happier than the treatment and care our frenchie received during her stay while we were at the park for the day. Wished we lived closer as this would be our go to doggie boarding….

Horrible!!!!! I am beyond displeased with the cut. Crooked ears, foul smelling products. We are on our way to a self wash station to rid the smell. Not to mention my dog had an “anal gland explosion” due to stress during the visit. He is seven and has been to many groomers across the country never did this happen. Did not ask for any vet paperwork so I am not sure this place is exactly up to code. Overall sketchy place, semi broken down and very minimal staff. Will never return and I regret going in the first place. My poor baby. I am so disappointed.

We were visiting the area and our Shih Tzu needed a groom. We took her in for a “spa day”. She came out looking like million bucks. Daniella did a phenomenal job. I highly recommend.

So thankful that we were able to get Star groomed on a Saturday and such a warm and friendly staff.We would have given 4 or 5 Stars except we placed on a 30 minute silent hold when we trying to reschedule and find out if Star needed more shots...making the groomer wait was not what we wanted and don't believe she was notified of our delay and what it was caused by..frustrating!!!Also, it could be much cleaner; more than just the camp verde dust but the groomers there don't clean up after each groom...hmm...asked her to and she did but it seemed to be a nuisance. Has this ever happened with your groomer? Found a groomer who loves Star and will trim and bathe her for free! Yippee! He saw that there was much more to be trimmed and more evenly. But so grateful for Hillside canine! We brought our own oatmeal shampoo and wish all of you the best, especially the owner Sean who will hopefully be creating a dog friendly rv park for traveller's with all kind of services including training, and dog loving space!

The staff at Hillside Canine Resort is always very pleasant, helpful and accommodating. Our two dogs absolutely love going there evidenced by dragging us to the door whenever we arrive. The grounds and kennels are immaculate with impressive training facilities available. We couldn't be happier with this home away from home for our pets!

Excellent service! Jennifer, the owner, is so nice and friendly, and my boyfriend and I immediately felt comfortable leaving our sweet Midnight with her. Jennifer was able to pet sit with same day notice, which was a lifesaver for us, as we had forgotten to call in advance. She even gave us a helpful tip in regards to our ziplining adventure. We will definitely use Hillside Canine Resort and Spa the next time we're in town. Thank you, Jennifer!
