You know, they say “adopt don’t shop” yet this group of clowns seem to make it damn near impossible to adopt a dog. “First come first serve” yet if you’re there first and want to commit to a dog there’s no real tangible way they can seem to make that happen. Incredibly disappointing people to try to work with. The PD should take a long hard look at what’s going on in this shelter.

A yr ago I had to put down a cat that was 22 years old I felt bad because I had to put him to sleep I'm about 6 minutes later I wanted another cat I saw pictures of one on the internet went to go see her to see if I wanted her and see if she like me they tricked me they had a brother in there with her I couldn't separate them so my husband said that we could take both of them and I love them both they have grown so much and here are some pictures of them

HiI can’t find an e mail adress of your animal shelter, so I write here a message to you: we are here at the Essex Rest Area EB and here is a dog without an owner. Workers say he is here since weeks and someone came to catch him but he always run away. I don’t know if maybe you were the one who try to catch him, but please try it again. I think he is only afraid and need more time to trust in somebody. We are from Germany and can’t get him with us but if we were living here in the USA we would take him!Please help him. Thanks a lot!

Adopted a 6 month old pup they said was healthy and could go home. Within a week she was hospitalized for coccidiosis, pancreatitis and several other health issues. The staff took the "veterinary" advice of the dog trainer from Risen Star over an actual veterinarian claiming the health issues were just bad training. They even blocked my account on here for posting a bad review which as a government entity they can face a civil rights lawsuit. The US Supreme Court ruled a government page cannot mute, block or violate a person's freedom of speech.

These are awesome people here, we bring decals for those who get rescued by one of these loving pets, gallons of water for the officers to have in the trucks to fill water bowls when helpless pets are found left out without food or water, and non-clumping cat litter for obvious reasons, we come here to donate whenever possible, these guys and gals care for these homeless animals on a very limited budget and truly appreciate any help they can get, additionally they typically have a full house and on some occasions those who can no longer care for their animals and want to drop them off for adoption are re-directed to the Kingman shelter, I always get involved when I hear of someone who is in that situation, I have a tenant who has the friendliest, most loving dog I've ever met, he is a lab/pit mix, he barked when I met him so I approached to discover he only wanted attention, so after being showered with kisses I took the leash and walked him around a bit, this guy walked right by my side and past other dogs without even looking at them or barking at all, I came bake and said only once, sit, and he did, I asked for his paw, he gave me his paw, I asked for the other paw and he obeyed, I told him to lay down, sit up, and shake my hand and he followed every direction, the owner told me she could no longer care for this beautifully spirited dog, having three rescues myself I am at my legal limit, this guy is soon headed to the Kingman shelter, I'd love to re-direct him to a property with a yard for him to run in, if you can help, see the craigslist ad for the apartment rental on Turquoise Road in bullhead city, contact Steve at the number listed in the ad, help me help the overcrowding at the local shelter by giving this awesome guy a home, I wish so bad that I could Take him but local law will not make exception on pet limits. all that said, the kind folks at the animal rescue are awesome, help if you can.

They took good care of our dog. He got out of our home because of the fireworks in July. When someone dropped our dog there an officer from there contact us immediately and told us our dog was found and safe with them. All the kennels were the dogs are always very clean. They provide food and water for all dogs. They're the best. Thank you very much for caring for all the animals.

Most condescending and arrogant 2 staff personal I have encountered in many years. I disagreed with their policy on Feral cats voicing my disappointment in an average voice explain ing I do not blame them because I know they do not make the rules. Wow I presses the wrong button because one of them lit into me like I was some young punk. I told her why are repaying you when I have to do your job❓On the phone earlier I was told I could not bring the two to three week old 6 kittens in a box. I had to spend $40 from my poverty level social security. She said it was too dangerous for them. Then she would not stop telling me Bullhead City this and Bullhead City that. I said I don't care and you can quit talking about the rules because they suck. I was waiting for the cage to be returned to me. She would not stop like she was scolding me. As I saw the cage returned behind me with no notice when I turned to leave and pick up the cage she said have a nice day not in a nice way. There's so much more. This is just an outline of my leaving remarks I said "I will because you gave me an education. By the way I'm a nice guy and take no joy in doing your job bringing the cats here. If I wasn't allergic to cats I wouldn't be here". Two, mostly one public servant needs an education in communication.

They are good as far as I can tell. When I can, I want to volunteer. I have mobility issues but I can sit on my butter and play, give loving and feed them snacks.

Adopted two kittens from this facility, helpful staff, the cages were clean and all the animals were well taken care of, have not seem a sick or uncrared for animal during my many visits.

I clean houses for a property management company and at one of the houses I found two cats that had been abandoned. They had been out in the summer heat for at least a week. The owners had left a bag of food in the shed in the backyard. I called the shelter. I just wanted to help the cats before they added to the feral cat issue we have. I was told that cats are free-roaming and I should just leave them to roam. I agree that a lot of the feral cat problem is irresponsible owners but those that are suppose to care and help obviously don't.

Friendly people in there helping to those animalitos in need, I went at there to see if they could help my farrel kitty that I adopted three weeks ago from pet smart but she is not stable friendly with my home, she hate the tv news and the music so I thought they will be willing to help her, but they put three options on her either to surrender to the place where she is coming from, or give her to the wild, n. If they will taken they will putting her the death raw, so I prefer to her go free at the wild but first I would take her to the vet for her ears.problem and cleaning, so that is friendly place, the girls and boys.

They were nice staff but I got a kitten a month old with ring worm and gave me medicine for a week free when the treatment for ring worm is four weeks and not one. I would not advise going there since I got a sick animal from there and now I have to pay for it.

I usually go in there and pet the animals and give them lots of attention and the woman at the counter is usually pretty nice to me. I went in today though, with my niece and all of a suddenly the woman decides to be rude to me, and honestly I don't feel it's a confidence seeing as my niece is half black. I will go in there still to give these poor animals attention, although I sincerely hope this woman gets her morals in line.

I adopted a beautiful torti kitten, who was in great health. She's grown a little since then and has the greatest personality you could ask for in a new cat. Thank you for my new best friend.

It seems like when I have called to report a lost dog,or dog tied to a short chain in the heat,or dog tied to a tree with a short rope etc.that the employee that answers the phone acts like it's a bother to hear what I have to say,I was under the impression that if you worked with animals ,you cared about animals and they were your 1st priority,you shouldnt work there if you dont care about animals and dont have a heart..there used to be more caring employees in the past

Very professional! They treat your animals just like they're your babies, because they are our fur babies. They even call back to see how the visit went and to make sure your fur baby is doing ok. I would give 6 stars if I could.
