Understaffed and not straightforward. Place was not caring or considerate. Sat there for 3 hrs as my dogs face continued to swell with zero attention. Choose to leave due to lack of service.Went back the next day after speaking with Mary.Front desk was better with communication and Snowball was able to be seen by the vet. The vet was thorough with Snowball and straightforward with her recommendations. Snowball is doing much better now. Thank you 🐾

Desert Ark has treated us very well. I called in on a Saturday morning needing to bring in our puppy who injured her leg. This was after calling our regular vet and 3 other clinics near us, none of which would fit us in during their Saturday business hours. Desert Ark got us in right away, Kathleen at the front desk was so friendly and so was the technician and veterinarian who spent plenty of time with me and my pup. We were well cared for, treated compassionately, and felt very welcomed. I’ve returned several times these past couple weeks for our pup’s bandage to be changed and have received great service each time.I will be switching to using Desert Ark as our primary vet now because our regular vet has turned us away on Saturdays twice in recent months and they rush through our appointments and try and upsell vaccinations and other things. Desert Ark was so much better to us and we appreciate that they offer same day appointments for urgent needs.

Had to do a walk in yesterday because my normal vet was booked up. We have a 10-week old golden retriever that hasn’t been feeling well. The staff was super friendly. Everyone loved our little puppy. The vet was very knowledgeable and quickly helped us to start getting our girl back in tip top shape. Thank you for the hospitality and fast support.

After my pup got sick one late Saturday afternoon, I had the most difficult time finding a vet that would take a last min walk-in. Was turned down numerous times before finding Desert Ark who agreed to squeeze me in. They were SO nice and personable. Not cold & formal like most vets I've gone to. Their facility was nice and clean and they were so sweet to my fur-baby as well as understanding to my lack of knowledge, plus helped ease my worries. I'm so thankful to them. I'll def be using them again for regular pup care!

They have walk-in hours, which was very helpful since my dog had an ear infection. She can be difficult at the vet, and she has a lot of anxiety problems, but they handled her well and were able to examine her thoroughly. I was very happy with how they treated her.

I regret to inform you of the distressing experience I encountered while waiting with my ailing pet at your establishment. Despite the prolonged duration of our wait, there was a notable absence of concern or provision for the basic needs of my pet, particularly regarding hydration. Furthermore, the extended wait period exacerbated the anxiety of both my pet and myself, culminating in an uncomfortable confinement within a chilly check room for an additional 90 minutes. While I acknowledge the inevitability of wait times, proactive communication regarding anticipated delays would have been appreciated and would have contributed to a more professional and considerate atmosphere. Regrettably, this experience has left me profoundly dissatisfied.

Desert Ark Veterinary has been our primary veterinary care center for over a year. As a pet mom of both dogs and cats, we have been seen for annual wellness checks, as well as, occasional illness. The staff have always been friendly and respectfully. They have always gone over all cost associated with our visit prior to treatment. This way, there is no surprises when you go to pay. This practice has allowed me to ask questions about other treatment options which maybe less budget impacting. We have seen multiple vets and staff members, all of whom have been friendly and compassionate to our specific situation. Yes, quality veterinary care can be expensive. However, I have never once left a visit feeling that I did not receive the quality of care for the price I paid. Desert Ark Veterinary Care is perfect Care Center for our fur babies family members!

Highly disappointed, my daughter found an injured kitten this morning, did the right thing in picking the poor thing up out of the road and looking for a place to get help. Desert Ark was the closest, they required her to pay $750, she took responsibility for a poor injured animal that needed help. They did refund a bit, however, she still had to pay $570 for the kitten to be euthanized. She could have just left it to die in the road, her compassion wouldn't let her do so.How can you not have any kind of compassion to just charge a small fee for euthanizing in this situation?Would it have been better to leave a defenseless animal to suffer in the road?How can you call yourself a compassionate veterinary care office by not assisting this poor animal without charging so much?Thank you for addressing this concern, I appreciate your apology and glad we were able to give the kitten a chance, thank you.

Had to take my boy in unexpectedly because he's been feeling out of sorts for about a week. Was treated with respect and care. All the possible diagnostic testing was presented up front so no surprises. Once we knew what was wrong we got our meds and got right our for less than what we were quoted! I recently was a walk-in at the Desert Ark Veterinary Clinic, W. Indian School location with my 5lb rescue dog who was suffering with what I thought was a acute serious condition? From the moment I walked in, I was treated in a professional and sympathetic manner. The receptionist was expeditious in registering my "baby" and was cognizant of my concern, and immediately reassured me that my pet would be seen as soon as possible. True to her word, a technician shortly thereafter conducted the preliminary evaluation and took my pet's medical history. We were then called in to see Dr. L. Griggs, who was the epitome of professionalism and compassion. She examined my pet, who is extremely skiddish (a grossly abused animal), explained in easy to understand language what her initial thoughts were and what diagnostic tests she thought should be conducted. Before any testing was performed, I was given an estimated bill to review and approve. The tests were conducted and a preliminary diagnosis was made (pending confirmation from radiology and hematology). Dr. Griggs was thorough in her explanation to me, which put me completely at ease. I was given medication and verbal instructions for my pet and was reassured that I could call at any time if my pet's condition worsened, or if I had any concerns. Dr. Grigg's personally called me to inform me of the results of the tests and to enquire how my pet was? Her diligence and caring manner was a breath of fresh air to an anxious pet owner. This may be a long-winded review, but I feel that credit should be given where credit is due. Thank you Dr. Griggs and her wonderful team!

I have a mixed review because everything from my first call inquiring about their prices services etc and even scheduling an appointment was absolutely wonderful and even the care we received from the second we walked in. This was an already very emotional trip as we were going to put down our 16 year old dog and have never gone through something like this but then imagine this… my dog has been euthanized they give us the room and say take your time and we overhear staff saying what a “sissy Lala” we are for crying and grieving and to “get over it” another tech even mentioned how when they lost their dog they didn’t cry!! I was so heartbroken to hear that we immediately left and had to leave our dog with these people who were laughing at our pain…. I just can’t imagine at laughing or making fun of anyone who is grieving….

I am giving 2 stars because the vet is so nice and I wanted this to be the place we go for my dogs care. But the day my dog was seen, the front person that knows all about the pet membership was not there. While I was paying I asked if I could just enroll so my dog would be covered. The guy had no idea if he enrolled me correctly and on the receipt it showed I was enrolled but I was still charged a normal exam. He told me he would leave a note for the enrollment lady to call me. NEVER CALLED. Have not been back since but they have been charging me. Now they have changed their system and payment information was erased, funny now they are calling because they are not getting paid but still nothing on if I was charged correctly the first time.

I found these guys by chance when I had an emergency with my German Shepherd about a year or so ago. They were able to take us without an appointment even though they were busy and didn’t overcharge us like all the emergency vets were trying to do. Since then they’ve been our primary care location. I’ve even referred some co workers and clients there because finding a good vet is like finding a good mechanic , it can be hard but is very important.

Very happy with my experience. The staff answered all my questions and i felt confident that Leo was in good care even though he stayed overnight. I called in and got updates without issues Little Leo is back to his usual self running wild and scattering his toys all over the house.

I was able to get an appointment to see a vet and for some further diagnostic testing within a day for my dog who was diagnosed with cancer while in a road trip. A very stressful time.

I bring all of my pets here for excellent, loving care...but mostly my diabetic dog every 2 weeks for a new glucose sensor and these guys are all so sweet with my Sonny, even the front desk! If I have to get him in for an earlier appointment they always accommodate me. Even the woman from the back office came out today when I took my cat to urgent care to say hi to him and talk a little. Very down to earth staff. We love them all!❤️

I had to bring in my 18-year-old cat, and she got the best care we could have hoped for during what can only be described as the perfect visit with this group of glorious animal care specialists. From the phone call I made the night before, to the front desk's cheerful greeting, to the sweet and hilarious nurse, to the thoughtful and informative doctor, I felt heard and cared for, and my cat is as comfy as can be. I will 100% be bringing my old girl back here.

I made a appointment for my new dog Casper, who we adopted. They made a mistake and scheduled it on a day I wasn't available. So they said bring him in as a emergency and we did. Then they told me that he couldn't be seen to get his vaccination and they didn't have time for him. That we could try another day. Now thanks to them the dog is over a week due for a vaccine he should of received. What kinda veterinarian turns a animal away is beyond me. I honestly don’t know how there are any negative reviews on here… I called to see if they could see my Pomeranian 2 hours before closing and they said yes!! Dr. Cal was awesome and the rest of the staff was very nice. I can now sleep peacefully knowing my dogs stomach issues should be settled in a few days! Thank you guys. We’ll be back!

I have been taking my Golden (Ryleigh) here since she was 9 weeks old and she is now a year old. I have been amazed with the environment and staff since the very first visit. Dr. Velez is by far the best vet I’ve come in contact with since I started coming here. She is extremely knowledgeable and eager to make sure you understand everything as the pet owner. In the past, I have had trouble with vets giving huge medical terms but not breaking it down to a level an owner can understand. Plus, not only am I in LOVE with Ryleigh’s level of care but the staff is incredible! Every visit I’ve had, I walk in and it doesn’t matter who is working they know Ryleighs name and immediately get down on the floor to greet her. They truly make you and your animal feel like you’re family. If you’re looking for an amazing place for animal care with the feeling of family chose Desert Ark, you will not regret it! ❤️
