Small museum with memorabilia about the race, 33 minute movie about why the dogs like to run, gift shop, and the opportunity for $10 to ride in a cart pulled by dogs that have been in the race. What's not to enjoy?! Thanks Riley and best wishes on your next race! Visited Sept 13, 2023.

Great little history museum of the Iditarod. It is only one room, but there is a lot of info packed into the space. There is also an informative movie called "Why They Run" that explains the dog point of view in regards to the whole sled dog thing.

Easy to get to. Friendly staff. Clean bathrooms. $10 for a short but fun sled pull. Dogs got so excited! You can pet one of the frisky puppies. Gift shop has good selection, and lots of historic info inside museum.

Great place to stop to see/learn about the Iditarod. Was great to meet Riley (and to have the kids ride behind his dogs for a couple minutes) - having some first-hand knowledge and stories made for a very memorable experience! Also a nice little gift shop if you're looking for some souvenirs.

We were able to pet the puppies and some of the adult dogs. The owners were very informative and friendly, there was a dog powered cart to give rides ($10) and plenty of opportunities for photos. There is also an indoor museum which is free to the public. Great fun for the kids and the adults too.

I had such a great time here. The dogs are wonderful and the people that work her are fantastic. I learned so much about sled dogs with the free video they show in the gift shop. Sled dogs have a natural instinct and desire to run and work. When properly cared for and trained, sled dog teams can lead fulfilling lives. Responsible mushers prioritize the well-being of their dogs, ensuring they receive proper care, nutrition, and rest. When treated ethically, sled dog activities align with their natural instincts and I could certainly tell these dogs were happy and loved to run! I love that after I left here I knew so much about sled dogs. I highly recommend going here if you’re in the area. The sled ride was $10 and it was just a short loop (about 2 minutes) but I was so worth it!

Very cool small museum that's free to visit and has a nice gift shop. Learn all about the Iditarod Don't sledding race. And you can take a short dog sled ride for $10 each.

A small group of us visited here for the first time recently. The staff was very nice and helpful. It is a really neat museum, and even has a little gift shop. If you are interested in learning more about the Iditarod, this is a great place to visit!

Inside the building was a large display of memorabilia related to the Iditarod. The movie that plays on the TV gives some history of the race as well as diving into the dogs themselves and how the race has evolved over time.

July 2023- Really nice quick stop! It’s not a full scale museum, but they have many artifacts to see and learn about the race. Expect 25-45 minutes here. We did the sled ride and got to learn about the race from a competitor. Our group really enjoyed this!

The museum here is fairly small but has a lot of info packed into a small space. There was also a movie about why the dogs like to run and pull the sleds.

The museum was small and not really worth the trip except that they had the dogsled rides. It was the perfect length for small kids who mostly wanted to meet the puppies. They really enjoyed the ride too! We watched the movie in the museum and I found it interesting as an adult but the kids got really bored about half way through. I had to work to keep them engaged. Overall everyone was kind and considerate.

Had a great time. This is where they train the snow dogs for mushing! All the animals were in great health and happy to play with us. Those little guys are strong and fast!

Everything outside was well manicured. Good says they close at 5. Got there at 3. They are closed on weekends. Very weird if you ask me... you get more traffic on weekends... close on Monday and Tuesday.

This was a great introduction to the Iditarod! There were trophies on display, facts about different races and dogs, a movie about the Iditarod playing, and a little gift shop too that was stocked with different gear. There's even a spot you could go do mushing.

This was very interesting. It was raining when we were there so we only stayed inside. The film was about the dogs and very enlightening. The winners portraits line the walls and the history of the race is explained . Its free. You should go.

The staff and trainers were very pleasant & friendly, while keeping the dogs top condition and learning to work as a team for the annual Iditarod Race. There happened to be several puppies that could be handled and petted, really cute. They had information on the race, museum, gift shop and films for viewing. They also had training rubber tire carriages that the dogs would pull around a small track that serves a dual purpose of keeping the dogs in shape for pulling the race sled and it also delights many of the visitors who pass through. We enjoyed

Super nice people! Highly recommend riding with the dogs with Riley. You can now say you rode with the Iditarod dogs. Much faster than I expected. Fun stop off between Talkeetna and Cooper Landing.

Went to the HQ during the running of the race and was disappointed they didn’t have live race tracking running! The employee remarked that we could login with our own account. Lame!

The museum is largely limited to a "trophy room" with photos, trophies, and memorabilia. There is a shop offering clothing and related items. Outside, there may be a demonstration of sled dogs pulling a wheeled cart and you can take a short circular ride for a fee.

Good place to learn about Iditarod! They offered a 30 min video on the history of Iditarod which also covers how they care for the dogs. We knew nothing about this so was interesting to learn. We also took a quarter mile cart ride pulled by the sled dogs which was really cute.

Cute place with sweet dogs. Affordable quick sled/wheels ride. Free film about the dogs, gift shop & small museum, pleasant staff. Real deal. Not real "touristy".

It is very sad to see all those poor dogs being treated as things. They are not in the best physical conditions or well taken care.
