I love the groomers, but the store never has enough stock. Pegs and shelves are bare. Whatever order system is used is not working and had been hit or miss for over the last year. Super frustrating....I love the vital care program.

Excellent customer service and products are priced competitively. Associates are friendly and always happy to get merchandise out of the back if the shelf is empty. The store is kept clean, and it's also fun to watch their critters.

They are the only store in my town that carry reef aquarium supplies. I have seen the Fairbanks store and Anchorage store which both have disgusting example of saltwater care but the group in Wasilla is doing a great job maintaining theirs.

Great place to go for pet supplies and pet advice. However, lately, the shelves have been pretty bare and it's hard sometimes to get the same foods for my pets. Thankfully they don't seem to mind much, but it can be hard on them to have different foods all the time.

Needed help with getting a receipt I misplaced from an earlier purchase, and one of the managers was very helpful and got me exactly what I needed, and didn't make me feel bad or like I was an inconvenience. Cashier was very helpful getting the manager for me, very nice and polite. Asked an associate about cat litter and what I was looking for, the associate was very helpful and polite as well. I also have asthma, and cannot wear a mask as it hinders my breathing, it was nice to not get questioned, or dirty looks about not wearing one. It overall was a very helpful and pleasant visit, and I will be going back to shop there for all my pet needs.

The employees I interacted with seemed very knowledgeable, friendly, and happy to help find the products we we're looking for. Had difficult to find dental rinse products for dogs. Prices were good compared to other brick & mortar stores and not to much above online prices.

The mammals for sale, chinchillas, all appeared healthy and active. Their cage was clean and there were places for them to hide and play. They were not cramped. The fish were in clean tanks. There were medium size frozen rats for me to feed the family pet snake. The male bettas were not particularly well lit so difficult to appreciate their colors. However, this is probably more wholesome for them. They were still beautifully displayed. The store was overall clean, well-stocked and well-lit. I would like to see dog toys that are made in the USA because I do not trust anything made in China for my pets. You should definitely stop carrying any leather treats for dogs because they can cause stomach problems, and even block the digestive tract requiring emergency surgery. Thank you for such a nice store. I will be back again soon.

I went in to buy some supplies for my newly adopted dog. I spent $150 there. I was asked if I had a membership card, I replied no. I was not asked if I wanted to sign up...which would have been nice spending all that money there. Customer service was extrodinarily nice when I returned things and said I was charged too much for one item in particular. Workers have been nice when I have gone in overall.

The local store had exactly what I needed in stock. The website was very user friendly, offering straightforward ordering and payment options. The associate who answered the phone (upon our arrival at the store parking area) was polite, quick and put the bag of kibble in the car without our needing to go into the store. We sincerely appreciate this curbside pickup option during this time of physical distancing.

Petco offers consumers who shop online and pick up in store a 20% discount on their order. Yet, over the past six months, I have repeatedly ordered items that were marked "available for pickup" only to then receive a confirmation that up to 75% of my items were unavailable. They make it nearly impossible to cancel the order at that point and sometimes even when I did cancel, the order was not cancelled. That is beyond frustrating, but what is more so, is the fact that I have taken financial hits under the chaos that seems to be Petco's inventory management system. Not to mention that for months their chat function has been a disaster. You were expected to type your issue, your responses and enter information without being able to see what you were typing! Not to mention the countless times that the chat agent disconnects you because you didn't "type in the dark" quickly enough. And then you have to start all over! Fun, fun. I guess it would be for me too, if I didn't have a job. Petco has taken rewards out of my account and not replaced them, they have not cancelled items that I have proof that I requested be cancelled, etc. Dubious at best. I have repeatedly asked to have these issues escalated, to no avail.Yesterday, Petco claimed to have Greenies in stock - yet when I got to the store the shelves were nearly empty. I was shocked. Am I expected to believe that they ran out of ALL THEIR INVENTORY in the 30 minutes it took for them to fill my order. Not to mention that they claimed that the harness I ordered was not in stock - but it was. I found it easily. I considered leaving the store, ordering the items and waiting to get the confirmation as to whether they were in stock. And, if Petco were to tell me they weren't in stock, I could have produced them for the associate. The reason why is simple. Petco guarantees 20% of all items ordered online. What it seems to me is that Petco is engaged in some type of bait and switch - in which they offer customers this discount, then claim items are not in stock, and then when the customer gets to the store offer the items at full price. Yesterday, at Petco, the associate told me I had to pay full price for additional items I bought - and didn't even offer to apply the $15 in rewards that I had used on the order and were apparently taken from me. I had to, yet again, contact their ridiculous chat today just to get my rewards reinstated. Terrible customer experience. Absolutely terrible.

Wasilla's fish department "head guy" is amazing! He's really knowledgeable & after seeing him interact with dozens of people over the years, he is a really nice person. My experience with small animals is to do your own research first, the staff has a high turn over & the knowledge they have in this department is basic (they can get you an animal & show you where things are that you ask for). My experience with the groomers hasn't been great, although there may be someone there who listens & is good at what they do, I haven't found them yet. There is a high turn over in the grooming dept & I would really recommend an "owner operated" groomer over any chain store anyways. There is a great rewards program at Petco making the prices reasonable for repeat customers & you can almost always find whatever you need.

Great visit. Brought in 2 Pomeranian for grooming. Dropped off at 11:30 per appointment. Got back at 2:30 and waited over an hour to get them back.That being said, they did an excellent job, the pups looked amazing and we had fun admiring the amazing kitties for adoption next to the grooming area.Took my fur baby in and let him pick out a toy while we waited.Great selection of foods and baked snacks for animals.

Constantly running out of mice and miscounting crickets...however employees quickly correct and always make the situation better. *update* extremely helpful staff, since petco does not have a buy online pick up in store option, and living 100 miles away makes it difficult to get to stores during operating hours, the staff gathered the items I needed and had them ready at the registrar for me to be able to pay and go. Thank you so much!

Cleanliness is great, staff are decent, but I feel some are misinformed or trained improperly due to an incident I had with buying a plecostomus fish who they claimed would work fine in a Betta fish tank. They were wrong😥 The ending is sad, so let's just say princess buttercup sleeps with the fishes and Petco employees need to read up on Betta fish. Shame on me too though.Anyways, great store otherwise. Wonderful selection of dog food and cat, ferret, bird and even reptile. I like the pet adoptions they hold as well!

Young man assisted me with cat food for a special needs cat when I almost walked out after not finding what I was looking for. I wanted a dry beef food as she will not eat can food and is allergic to chicken. I thought I was going to have to place an online order and pay for shipping when he directed me to an origins brand and explained why it might work. She had lost a lot of weight eating very little of her fish based diet and now she's eating again!!!

Employees are always extremely helpful. I am disabled & staff helps me to the car with purchases in addition to being helpful & courteous when in store. Last winter they kept the handicap parking area free of ice & snow.

Petco is great for a lot of pet needs. A lot of variety and specialty items. Thrust very expensive though, especially with another pet supply store within three same block. Seems like they'd lower their prices too at least match the other store. Better deals at the Zoo.

Amazing service! The only complaint would be that everything seems to be over priced and they don't carry brands that you would find in stores like walmart or freddys. For example my cat eats the dry friskys with gravey and the frisky's cat food... you will not find that in this store nor any other "well known" brand. Also their cat section is pretty small and doesn't have much to offer. But for dogs they do have a good variety of options for foods, toys and clothing.My sister loves this store for her mastiff and I always go with her because they let you hold and pet the ferrets.

I love their dog groomers but the service sucks. I've left several messages trying to book an appointment and have never received a call back each time. The appointments are always a month out so be sure to book appointments ahead of time.

Nothing special. General big box pet store. Smaller selection than many other box pet stores. Far smaller that Pet Zoo, local business, just around the corner. Between the two you should be able to get what you need. However be wary of getting pets at Petco. They have not lasted when brought home, dying of illnesses from the store before too long. Once I get, but 4 times dealing with crying kids because their new guinea pig died isn't normal.

I have taken my Tiny Tina to other dog groomers in Wasilla. Not once did any of them listen to me on what I wanted done for a cut. And all times they never trimmed her nails and I paid for them. With that being said I will say Whitney and her crew at Petco did an amazing job on my two little dogs. I am highly impressed with their skill and there customer service. I now have found a new dog groomer for my dogs. Thank you Whitney and we will be seeing you in the future.

They always have everything I need and I can never leave without buying something I didnt come for. Everyone's always so nice and helpful too, especially Cam and Jesse! Those 2 are the best!!

My Boston has a sensitive stomach and needs grain free foods. Petco always stocks exactly what she needs and likes. Plus I love the ferrets, even though I will never own one myself, I still love to watch them play.
