This store has really gone downhill. (Wasilla, Ak). The place is disgusting and dirty. My newly groomed dog was covered with dirt. While the employees are helpful and nice, they are few and overworked. The shelves are mostly empty and it’s always hard to find products. It’s like they are going out of business every day. I really hate going there.

Used to be a good store before the "covid 19" excuse for no workers, now all the fish are always sick, always small, animal cages are in poor condition, can't get any pet service, i waited half an hour on someone to come get a parakeet out of the cage for me then walked out and went and bought one at petzoo, dont recommend, and petco FIX UR FISH TANKS! Alot of them hav wasting disease, signs of the disease are : clamped fins, low mobility, sunken/caved stomach, this disease is basically eating the fish from the inside out and making it incapable for the fish to get any nutrients from the food they eat, a package of all cure would solve it, but they wont even do that

I love their groomers and so does my dog. Every time we get close he starts talking and gets really happy and he is all smiles the whole time there. They love seeing him and he loves seeing all of them. He is 80 lbs of love.❤❤❤

This is I must for pet owners to check out. The displays for both pets and pet supplies are set up well and arranged conveniently with a fair variety for each species type you want to look at. Pretty awesome variety of live foods for reptiles and great customer service when picking out supplies. The fish display is pretty awesome overall and can trap me for hours walking back and forth checking out all the different tanks. Lots more stuff I could put but those are my favorites.

I don't like writing bad reviews due to how damaging to a company/business it can be.The staff is friendly.The store is filthy and lacking.The floors dont appear to have ever been cleaned since the day it was open.They carry food the other stores do not.Cat supplies are short.The bulk litter is great and affordable.I'm not sure if corporate is responsible for the problems or if it's the store management's shortcoming.Either way, this store needs help and to be cleaned.

I've been bringing my dog here for grooming since she was a puppy. I love that they are happy to see her when we come in! Morgan is fantastic and I know my dog is loved and cared for while she's getting her bath and hair cut.

This place NEVER has anything in stock and to see the condition the animals are kept in a straight up fowl. Hamsters kept in tiny cubes with no wheels and feces everywhere. That does not happen over night. Every single enclosure has feces and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in days. Multiple dead fish in there tanks. I could keep going.. The fact that they think this is acceptable really tells me they have no regard for these animals. Disturbing.

The store barely has any stock on the shelves and the store is severely understaffed. They change their hours very frequently, but do not update their Google page. There's been a half dozen times that I've gone to the store during operating hours and the door is locked with a sign taped to the door indicating that they're closing 2-3 hours earlier than indicated online. I only shop there because it's the only pet store that can get crickets somewhat consistently. Don't expect to find anything you're looking for when you go, and they may be already closed, so I would recommend just calling to see if they have what you need - if they actually answer their phone. I just tried contacting customer service and after 2 minutes of ringing the line just goes silent, but remains connected. There doesn't even seem to be voicemail set up for the store. They're open right now, but after calling three times I haven't spoken to anyone and I can't leave a message.

I use the grooming service to keep up on my dogs nails. They do a great job, fast! By the time I pay, they are done!!! My dog is happy with their work.

Filthy. Just absolutely filthy. Worst Petco I have ever been in. It is hard to breathe due to the overpowering smell of animal urine. All of the products on the shelves are a compete mess and covered in a thick layer of dust. This place definitely needs new management. What a shame. It has been in bad shape for several years and keeps getting worse.

I went to Petco to buy some USA SOURCED and MADE dog chews…collagen sticks, bully sticks, etc. Other countries do not have our strict policies and safety in mind. They just want to get our money. Please stock USA SOURCED and MADE products. I ask you, would you eat products from Mexico, Indonesia, or other 3rd world countries?ALSO:1. There was one checkout open yet the line to purchase items was half way down the main isle. No exaggeration.2. Many items not in stock.3. I have no choice but to return as this is the only Petco in Wasilla.4. The store was disheveled and dirty.5. I am thankful that I am able to order from going into the Petco store and getting items delivered for free. This is the only reason I do not shift to shopping at PetSmart. However, if 1, 2, and 4 don’t change I will shift to PetSmart.

This store has bare shelves every time I go in, it is not clean, and short staffed. This is NOT a supply issue as Anchorage stores have full shelves. Reviews have been the same for at least a year and nothing has changed.

someone needs to read about setting up your salt tank, a kid can do this but the current people running it dont seem to want to get it up and going,and all the stock has been way down, its nice when you all have the stuff i need to be in stock, but this hasnt been happenin for awhile now, its frustrating to me couse ive seen wasilla store all going good, but not for a few years now.....its bad, please straighten up your store please

I took my kitten in for her first shots.I had an appointment, but that didn't matter when I got there. I still waited in a line.All the "helpers or vets" were very young. I'm not even sure if they were real vets.Not very friendly overall. Only 1 girl spoke to me. She was the one to take my information and let me know what they would be doing. She was nice and helpful.The other 2 people. The "vet" I assume didn't say a word to me. She acted like she really didn't want to be there. So that was a concern.The other girl assisting... didn't speak to me either. But she was at least friendly with the pets.The whole thing is done in the front entrance of the Petco store. I did not like that. It all felt very unprofessional to me and I will be finding a actual veterinary clinic for everything else.

This particular store is horrible. It's dirty, unorganized, and low or out stock in a majority of items. It's crazy what difference there is between petco in wasilla and the petzoo next door. Even the fish tanks and small animal cages are dirty at petco, sad! No clue how they are keeping the doors open. I'm sure this review with be followed up with some generic response from Petco and nothing will change.

i was a little leery on going to petco to get luna groomed due to some reviews. i called and left messages and they would call me back with in 2 hrs to answer all my questions. the lady that did luna was super nice and did an amazing job and before grooming i had questions due to never have brought a dog to a groomers she answered them all. when picking her up which was a very reasonable time, they said luna got excited and peed a little and got her tail in it so her groomer brought her back again and touched her up. i'll absolutely go back 100%. amazing staff and amazing work and they are honest.

They absolutely never have anything stocked or in the right place.They never hire enough people to get the freight on to the floor and they've admitted to me on several occasions that they have the Product in the back just can't go get it

I have 5 dogs. This particular location is always out of the dog food that I need (Purina Pro Plan). This store also seems to be out of a lot of items, with multiple bare shelves and isles. It's sad. They're always understaffed too, so the employees are obviously stressed and trying to do many jobs at once (please note - this review is not a reflection of the employees). I'll be shopping at PetZoo from now on because their shelves are always full.

They said they'd be helping me in a few minutes I was the next customer it didn't happen I went back up to the counter she said I'll be there in a minute and just kept checking people out of the counter I don't know I waited my time in line I left she said I'll be right with you I said you already had your chance goodbye

It was easy in and out to get cat litter. Petco has some of the best sales on litter at times. Also, they have a brand with a "refill your bucket" option that saves a couple of bucks on a regular basis. I still think their prices are a bit high, but comparative to the other chain in the Valley.

The customer service is solid. Staff courteous and positive. The dog tag maker is really convenient. However the dog section, where we search for multiple products, is bare bones with numerous partially-empty shelves. We assumed a re-stock was occurring two months ago when it was half-empty but it’s still that way today.

There was a woman in the Reptile aisle who asked if we needed any help. And then she proceeded to answer all of our questions and then some. She was amazing and made us feel way more confident buying. She also explained the different rewards programs and how they could benefit us. I asked her name and she said Stacy. Stacy definitely made it a better experience.

Clean facility overall, clean pet containers that hold animals such as ferrets, kittens, mice, birds, and guinea pigs. The reptile/tarantulas containers/hold environment looks like they need attention. Needs cleaned. The pet groomers are attentive and friendly.

Just got our Siberian Husky back to find that they completely shaved her body due to “matting” (she was in fact not matted) and her head is cut so uneven. She looks so bad and is so upset. She already hates the tools at the groomers and the shavers absolutely petrify her. She hates car rides but was so content on the way back to just be away from them that she was happy to just lay there the whole trip home. Her fur may never grow back and if it does it wont be the same. Do. Not. Take. Your. Dog. Here. They do not care about your baby, how they look or how the feel. Her coat is what allows her to regulate her temperature in heat and cold. How groomers in South Carolina know not to shave this breed but not someone in Alaska astounds me. Absolutely awful place.
