I ordered an Italian sun from the deli and this is what I got. For almost $9 this is ridiculous. One piece of ham are you serious? Not going back.

A lot of empty shelves; partly due to pandemic but more so on employees not stocking them. Cashiers can be rude and unhelpful at times. Prices are no better than Walmart or Fred Meyer. Best deals are probably only during case lot sales or when coupons are valid. Be sure to check coupon dates as the commissary has a bad habit of leaving expired ones on shelves.Update 20 months later - shelves appear better stocked. Prices are still unbelievably worse compared to Walmart and fred meyer. Warehouse section that have clubpacks are often disorganized with some products without price tag on shelves. Holiday products that are "suppossed" to be marked down the day after holiday are NOT marked down. Either due to store not caring or the "store associate" not doing their job. I really tried to like this commissary but after almost 2 years of shopping there, I can clearly see why it is one of the worse commissary stores in the region/zone.

Good selection, pricing, and clean. Unfortunately I've bought rotted pork here a couple times before. Gotta smell the meat before you cook it

Under construction currently, but should turn out really nice. Charlie's, Popeyes, Starbucks, GNC, Eye Glasses store, Barbershop, Military Clothing, and several stores with PX and Commissary.

Good commissary for the location. Easy access for retirees and they will take special orders for meat and produce if you don't find what you're looking for. During holiday meal prep times the shelves can lack the basics due to demand. If you prep early, it shouldn't be an issue. Workers are friendly and helpful, just like any commissary, there are baggers to help you to your car.

Cheaper than most places I visit for grocery. Stays stocked and cashiers are very friendly. The self checkout can be busy but that doesn't keep you waiting for long. Normally one or two lanes opened for you to checkout.

The meat is a few days away from freezer burn, the "fresh" vegetables are non existence, they are a day away from going bad. Prices say one thing but at checkout are another. Shelves are sometimes stocked, sometimes not. Overall best option would be to go off post

Typical commissary, decent prices and not alot of traffic. It's a little smaller than what I'm used to, but this is Alaska were talking about. Definitely has what you need and more.

Great selection, clean facility, friendly staff. The produce could be a little it better sometimes, but we are in Alaska her all. Sometimes is nice to go here since it's not nearly as busy as most places in Fairbanks. Good prices as well.

After using DFAS in multiple other areas of the US this one does not meet the standards. No cash back at the self help having to tell them multiple times no plastic when I bring my own bags

The commissary is a convenient place to go to get almost everything you need at a reasonable price. But like every store in Fairbanks, if a shipment is skipped the shelves run bare, so it is slim pickings at the moment and the quality of the produce is not up to the normal standard. I hope this will improve when the next shipment comes in.

I like going here most days. Fair prices on most besides eggs, milk and bread. But an older larger male cashier is rude. A lot of us talk about how we avoid this cashier at all cost. Just heads up if you get this cashier.

Lots of construction and maintenance, remodeling. Low supplies available.

Great place to buy meat products in regards to selection and price, but very bad place to buy perishable items (bread, cakes, and etc) as it was expired or tasted spoiled. Offers a few alternative choices to some products but does not come anywhere close to Wal-Mart. Dead zone for cell phone service at least with AT&T, so if you want to do research or price comparison move close to the entry doors to obtain a bar. If not be prepared for your phone receive a lot of messages and missed calls once you exit the store. In other states or cities the surcharge is a better trade off but here its a penalty as Fairbanks does not charge city taxes.

Worst Customer service I've ever experienced!!Need A Manager Meeting, by far I have ran into 4 rude people I'm not sure on names, but it's unnecessary. What happened to Customer service is that not a thing anymore!!What's so hard about being polite?

Very pricy, cheaper to go to walmart..Okay for last minute items if you're on base.Baggers rely on tips. No hourly wages there. You feel like you have to tip..

While the commissary is a fine, I was highly insulted by a check out employee who was very vocal and disrespectful about her political view points. I won't divulge her political persuasion but would simply say, it would be best for employees to keep their view points to themselves.

Good place to go grocery shopping that's close to on post housing but you gotta be extra careful to check sale by and expiration dates since they don't seem to pull expired items from shelves especially meat and fruit

Options are fairly limited as you could expect from an outpost in so far away from the shipping hub. However they do well with what they have and my neice loved chit chatting with alllll the visitors to the commissary

I keep getting freezer burned food from this location. Getting tired of having to throw away food. Also the commissary has been raising prices, what gives? And water and milk is price gouged. I can buy water at the px right next door for half the price.

They can have better prices in some things like the water. Walmart offer better deals in some articles. But their personal is the best.
