Unfortunately, this breakfast place in Valdez left much to be desired. The service was slow, and the entire establishment was filled with smoke and an unpleasant odor. It was disappointing to see such a limited menu, especially in a city with an abundance of fresh fish. Instead, they only offered GMO meat and overly greasy dishes. Overall, it's not a recommended spot for sure…

We ordered the kitchen sink omelette and the chicken fried steak. The omelette was great and had a lot of flavor, with well seasoned toppings. The chicken fried steak was a bit tough but the gravy was great! I got my eggs scrambled and they were also very light and fluffy, while not being undercooked like at most restaurants. Their pancakes are also super soft, and not too oversized. If you're not a fan of really buttery pancakes, though, I'd probably ask to get the butter on the side since they come with a lot of butter that melts and spreads quickly.All in all, pretty good, not too expensive place to get breakfast.

The food was decent, but nothing really special. The sausage gravy wasn't bad, but tasted canned. The biscuits were home made, though, and the home fried potatoes had a good flavor to them. My hash browns, eggs and bacon were good, the eggs were cooked just right

I had the reindeer sausage omelette, the fluffiest omelette I have seen. He had the Southwest skillet and enjoyed it. That says a lot about the gravy! Loved the ambience and how well they take care of the locals.

Prices and portions were comparatively good. Friendly service, great go to diner! We had breakfast two days in a row and really enjoyed it. This pic is my order off of the sides menu since I'm a lighter eater. My husband ordered the 2N2 order with a side of country gravy and he really enjoyed it.

Hands down the best breakfast place in town. Had the eggs benedict and country fried steak. Both entrees came out great. Portion sizes were good as well. Staff was very attentive and definitely made us feel at home. We'll definitely be back next fishing season

Lived in valdez for several months and have heard great things about this place. I was not disappointed. Cute, simple diner with good food and prices. I got the special and my friend got a pancake, both were delicious. Will be my go-to breakfast joint from here on out.

Summary: don’t come here if you’re not localLabeled this as breakfast, although we waited through brunch into lunchtime. My 2 year old was as patient as she could be through our 1.5 hour wait for our food. Food was good and decently priced for the portion sizes, but absolutely not worth the wait. The service was horrendous! I felt awkward and like a burden by the waitstaff the entire time. I would not give this place another dollar of my money.

The food was okay but it definitely wasn’t worth the horrible service we received. The waitress never spoke to us except to take our order. No eye contact, no smile, no personality. The food was brought out and placed on the table without comment. My husband’s order wasn’t correct so he told the waitress it wasn’t right. She asked what was wrong with it, which he explained. She then proceeded to blame the cook, picked up the plate, and was mumbling as she walked away. I was nearly done with my breakfast when his plate finally came out again. My husband ate it, but it still wasn’t correct. When he told the waitress, she again blamed the cook and was a little argumentative. He asked to speak with the cook, who came to the table. He didn’t take responsibility for the errors until my husband pointed out we were locals and he knew the owner. Only then did he get an apology, but when my husband continued to speak he walked away, also mumbling. Customer service is nonexistent in this restaurant, which is sad. While it was my first time eating here, my husband has eaten here many times in the past years. He has never experienced this type of bad service in the past. We spoke with other locals who had also experienced the same bad service. IF YOU’RE THE OWNER OF THIS BUSINESS: Do you know this is happening? If not, you need to know and do something about it. Your restaurant is headed to a path of closure and lost money if this continues.

Best breakfast in Valdez, hands down!!! Love the value for what you get and quite honestly their French toast is probably some of the best I've ever had!!! Highly recommend for anyone visiting or working in town!!!

I can't believe this place gets good reviews. We waited an hour and finally asked for a menu after seating ourselves at dirty table we cleaned ourselves. Once we finally ordered and got food the biscuits and gravy came out cold. Like not even luke warm. 2 of us also got the wrong food. We didnt have silverware after asking 3 times. It was just all bad, and it's not cheap. Unfortunately your options for breakfast are limited in a small town. The one and only server was very rude and unfriendly rolling her eyes. Our food mostly went uneaten don't waste your time or money.

Went here for breakfast 4 times when in town. Nice little diner. They can be very busy sometimes (probably because there are only 2 staff: one cook and another taking orders). I guess this is the small town style. Food was serviced hot, and in large portion. Also, they are open from 7 am. If you need to go on a tour early in the morning , this can be your place!

If you have a couple hours to waste for cold food this is the spot for you! Service is definitely geared towards locals so if you’re adventuring to Valdez I would recommend going somewhere else. Owner was gladly taking phone orders over serving the people in his restaurant. Definitely did not feel like our business was appreciated even though our group filled more than half of the restaurant.

The food was okay but NOT worth how long we waited for it. We arrived shortly after 9:30 and our food started coming out separately starting around 11:05. The waitress almost seemed mad at us for being there. No one said anything to us about the long wait. No explanations or apologies. We heard staff taking orders for people they seemed to know and then those people got their orders much more quickly. We think the fact that we weren’t locals may have been a problem here. It was also pretty expensive, although the plates were large so that’s not unreasonable. If you’re in Valdez visiting I definitely don’t recommend this place - it’ll take a giant chunk out of your day and you’ll feel unwelcome the whole time.

TLDR;-Terrible service-Mediocre food-Locals onlyThe waitress did a fantastic job at letting us know we were unwelcome. It was so uncomfortable that I wondered if we somehow offended her. I can't recall ever getting such horrible service. Technically, they took our order and gave us food but it was a very disturbing and ludicrous interaction.The canned gravey was cold -not warm, but cold. After the interactions with the waitress, I can't help but wonder if the cold food was intentional.

Worst service I've ever experienced - ever. Waitress was clearly disinterested in her job. Had to basically "beg" to be served. Standing at the front door, waiting to be seated, no acknowledgement from the staff Ibfinally asked "are you all open?" Reply "Sit wherever you want." After 20 more minutes of being ignored asked if we could get some water and coffee. Big sigh from her. Place is not busy but we've been waiting 1 hour since arrival for 3 breakfast burritos. Water glasses and coffee cups empty - No awareness by staff.Yes. We understand Alaska time but this is not that. This is just a waitress who doesn't seem to give a rip.

“It’s 9am and you take your friends to breakfast. Where do you go?”, I asked the front desk agent at the hotel. She responded not missing a beat, “TraDa’s”Food is ok. Definitely not worth the 2 hours from the moment we walked in to paying the check.Don’t come here if you’re hungry. If you’re not a local, you will not be greeted, seated or served. Locals definitely get priority here. I’m ok with that. But damn it was obvious. Front house staff does not work together. It appears one works only locals and the other non locals. They won’t greet you or seat you. We thought it was seat yourself. Don’t make that mistake! Then you get straight ignored. Our cups sat waiting for refills while the “locals” who sat after us got refills, food and cashed out before we received our order.If the front staff can get it together, communicate and care to see the goals and vision the owner/boss probably has, this place could do much better

There was only one waitress who had to handle everything from seating, taking orders, and serving food today. It took us a little longer time to get a table, place our order, and receive our dishes. Moreover, there was no coffee mate or cream on the table and we had to ask the waitress for it. My seat was near the entrance to the restroom. I had to move my chair every time someone wanted to use the restroom. I felt a little uncomfortable.

Cold food, colder serviceGravy was canned and served cold, not Luke warm, cold. As if it was sitting in the pot next to the open door out to the parking lot.Waitress whispered, "What can I get you?" And that was it for the rest of the entire stay. Weird energy all around and it was not even that busy.Can not recommend.

Breakfast was great here, easily one of the best in town. Prices are good for the area. My breakfast burrito was really good and big enough to save for leftovers (which I did). Quick friendly service. Seating was lightly padded hard chairs and simple tables. Area was small and cozy. Not a big place. The selection of items was pretty big for a place this size. They have good portions on the food I ordered a biscuits and gravy and a waffle.The waffle was average size and the dough was a little more spongy than it was light and crispy. The biscuits were good size but we’re not cooked all the way through and parts were still Raw dough. The gravy while it was a white country gravy. Did not have any sausage in it like I like and it was not as thick as I like. This would’ve been a great breakfast with a little bit more effort on quality
