This store is always clean and nicely organized. Beyond that it leaves a bit to be desired. First there is NEVER price labels on things. It’s a guess often to how much something costs and it’s usually 30% higher than you anticipate.Meat dept: leaves a lot to be desired. They don’t carry any large cuts of meat so it can be frustrating if you want to have a bbq or birthday party and grill a big piece of meat. We even tried buying several smaller pieces but it was like 1 tri-tip, 1 flank steak, 1 roast. Never 2-5 of the same meat and usually no more than 2-3 lbs.Produce: buyer beware. We are at the end of the chain. Produce goes bad quickly. I just spent $20 on a watermelon. My kids were so excited. We cut it open and it was rotten. Never had that happen before. We had to throw it in the trash. So be prepared to just throw money in the trash when buying produce. Plus everything is crazy expensive!Dairy: no dairy free yogurt. I’ve asked multiple times but nope. Also, don’t buy milk with 50% off stickers. I have done this in other Alaskan Safeways but here it was rotten the moment I opened it, even though it hadn’t yet expired.Check out: most checkers are friendly. They often forget to scan my 50% off stickers even when I tell/show them I have them. They have also several times charged me for bags even though I brought my own. I also think if I am bagging my own groceries I shouldn’t have to pay baggage fees! This is the only Safeway in Alaska I’ve been to that doesn’t have baggers or anyone to help you out.

Well... you're on an island in the middle of the ocean so produce won't always be fresh and prices won't be cheap. Safway doesn't have much control over that.Otherwise its a nice store. they carry the essentials, childrens toys, clothing.

It is indeed expensive (30-50% over mainland price). Given the remoteness of the island, that's to be expected. The fact that a supermarket exists at all here is laudable and it's a nice respite from a long voyage.I just wish they would wipe down the nasty tables and remove expired items from shelves faster. Not removing a star because I'm sure it's a logistical nightmare and they're doing their best.

Great place for all your shopping needs! Wide selection of all meats, fruits and vegetables as well as canned food and Jared food. A very wide and diverse selection of food items. Also a large selection of dried food good as well and snacks, cakes, chips, nuts, soda and energy drinks. They also have a kitchen that cooks a wide selection of food items that you can choose from as well as bakery for fresh bread, cakes, sweets and a Deli for fresh meats and Cheese.They also provide alot of kitchen items and odd and end items you may need for personal use as well. You have a wide selection of soaps, deodorants, shampoo & Conditioners, toothbrushes, toothpaste, dental floss and mouth wash. So they pretty much have it all! So stop on by I think you will like it!

over 20 yrs..they had coffee specials get 5 hot cups get 1 free..I got 1cup free. from tracy the cashier.mgr called to inform the police I stold it.im on the job working..they never clean the tables in delie.u have to clean them yuorself.the food in the deli .is under the heat lamp12 noon. to 6pm is inunheathy condition.looks & smells that way.overdone.tonight the had 6 pieces of chicken cooked in deli area on sale cooled down.the sticker sale by the 11.27.21today11.23.21 the product isnt eye appealing..again incompetent staffing.forfilling positions ther not trained & dont apply them sevles to do so..they are just lounging doing nothing & they make it obvious they are not there to work..or do the work effectively . at least show your trying

Great prices, great service. I was able to stock up on my snacks before heading back out to sea. A plus on service for the patience of the staff after being bombarded with a whole ship of personnel.

Found everything I was looking for at reasonable prices given the remote location of this island. My only gripe since arriving has been the tobacco prices and lack of the availability of vape or e cigarettes

Got most everything you need here. Food counter was exceptional with a wide range of hot foods. They make some pretty solid sandwiches too.

Nice store in Dutch Harbor. It's near Airport. Solid prices, have restoran inside, you can find everything here from food to fishermans equipment.
