Great chicken tenders and crispy fries. The box was so cute too. Burgers look so yummy- we were taking it to go so we opted not to get the burger because we didn't know how it would last on the train ride but boy did they look good. The tenders were large and filling.Kid-friendliness: Cute to go box.

The caribou burger was phenomenal. Fries were yummy too. Seriously, the best burger I’ve had in my life. Tasty & juicy, but not greasy or gamey. The 2 gentleman behind the counter were really nice. Definitely worth a stop if you are in Talkeetna & it’s in walking distance to a lot of cute little shops.

It was great! We were returning home from a fishing/camping trip in Seward and decided to check out the area. The caribou burger was great! My kids loved the corn dogs. Sitting was outside and there was a nice cool breeze. Everyone there seemed happy to he eating there. Will stop by more often when driving through on our way south. Thanks for the great food!!!

I had the elk cheddar burger and fries.This was the best burger (beef or elk) I had on my 12 day Alaska trip.They were super busy, and since everything seemed to be made fresh it took a while. It was worth the wait even though I was almost late to my tour bus and I had to eat on the bus. They had cute to go boxes that look like a barn!

These burgers were amazing, I got elk to try it out, they had beef, bison, elk, and caribou burgers. Originally thought they were a little pricey, but you get your moneys worth in both quantity and quality. A huge tasty burger with a good side portion (I got tater tots). Staff was very friendly and nice even as I was picking up close to closing and was the only one there. Perfect take out spot for anyone visiting Talkeetna

Shirley's Burger Barn is under new management with a new crew with a well known cook who's worked at many old school Alaskan restaurants. I rarely eat in Talkeetna even though I live fairly close for various reasons. I decided to give it a try and had the A-1 Burger with mushrooms, onions and Swiss cheese. Awesome burger, it was big and fat and loaded. The owner and his son were very friendly and attentive. The atmosphere is basic and set up for winter operations since the restaurant is a food trailer. There are outdoor propane heaters and picnic tables. If you're looking for something different and really good, check out Shirley's Burger Barn.

Visited off season so had the opportunity to meet and talk with the owners over lunch. Loved all the burgers: bison, elk and caribou. You can tell they are handmade as are their sauces & toppings.

Probably the best burger in Alaska! Seriously! Oh and the 49th state blueberry cream soda is Prue heaven! But the burger was so good at lunch we went back for dinner while staying at the lodge! Husband had the Elk burger and Reindeer hot dog, I don't eat burgers and fries peoples , but damn! This was so good I ate two in one day! It is kind if take out- they have a tented in area with outdoor heaters so keep that in mind. But soooo worth it.

We ordered the Bison burger (big; juicy and tasty) the caribou burger (lean and tasty) also the salmon burger (really good) the French fries were crunchy and salty (so yummy!) the service was fast and friendly. Nice view of the train while we were eating. Portions were really good and the price was good too ! Highly recommended

Talkeetna local here, this is my go to burger joint when I need a quick bite. As they are not *chiefly* downtown, traffic here isn't nearly as heavy as the other restaurants in the area. If you are coming in on a bus, this is directly across the street from the bus depot and it takes literal seconds to walk here.The Shirley burger with tots is a great first choice. Speaking of tots, they have fantastic proportions for their sides. Shirley's does not skimp out on that end. The owner is incredibly nice and personable. The Burger Barn will have my business for years to come.

Among the best burgers I've ever had. Fantastic seasoning and fresh off the grill. If you like mushroom and swiss the mushrooms were sauteed to perfection. Fries were nicely, well, fried. Not too hard or soft, crispy outside and perfect inside.
