Our favorite place to get cookies, hot chocolate, lunch or pie after a day of sledding. But since the scam-demic they are NOT open. I’m a local, each time I drive by they are locked up. Always! You can’t wash your clothes, get food, nothing. Unless you reserve a room then it’s like you’re locked in. It’s strange.I love this place but since 2020 it’s gone down hill massively. I miss it.I can not in good conscience suggest a place that is still treating people like it’s 2020.They treat locals like they are walking contagions but travelers from out of state like royalty, like they are gods or somehow better than the rest of us.I am a local, 25 years in Alaska. This is NOT Alaskan behavior.

We stopped here for cinnamon rolls back in July and were not disappointed. Absolutely incredible! The ginger molasses cookies were good too (and from my understanding you really can't go wrong with any of the baked goods) but the cinnamon rolls definitely won out in our opinion. Huge and reasonably priced, too.

The Roadhouse was on our bucket list of places to stay and I have to say it’s been one of my favorite experiences. I’ve never stayed at a place that felt so comfortable and relaxing. The owner is incredibly nice and has covered every basis to make the stay as perfect as possible. Thanks to Trisha and staff for the memorable time here! Looking forward to our next stay.

Trisha is an excellent hostess. She overcommunicated so it was super easy to check in & know what was available. The upstairs suite has 3 individual bedrooms with a shared bathroom (which was small but for one night, more than adequate). Delicious cinnamon rolls in the morning downstairs for breakfast were available as well. Great location & a perfect stop on the way to Denali.

This is one of my favorite places in the world. If you're looking for the most authentic Talkeetna Alaskan experience this is it! Love all the great memorabilia from Talkeetna's storied mountaineering history. Even though their breakfast menu is limited it's one of my favorite breakfasts in the entire world. If you care more about staying someplace fancy, this might not be for you. But if you want a real Alaskan experience it's this place. So charming and authentic!

Trisha was so nice. Due to covid our family of 4 had the whole upstairs(3 rooms and our own bathroom). She's very covid conscious and trying to keep everyone safe. Every group has their own bathroom. She had cookies waiting for us when we got there and they were delicious! The breakfast we had was amazing, eggs, orange juice, reindeer sausage, thick cut bacon, sourdough starter that was from 1902 that was used to make regular and blueberry pancakes. She is so kind, the other guests were so nice too. It's such a treat to stay there and be surrounded by so much character and history. We also were visited by the Mayor of Talkeetna, a cat named Denali. 😀 Stay here, you won't regret it.

My husband and I recently lodged at the Roadhouse for almost 2 weeks. The first half of our trip, we stayed in the queen sized room downstairs (I think Room 2). For the second half of our trip, we stayed in the room with one bunk bed (I think Room 1). Both rooms were great, and perfect for us. The photos I've provided are of some of the common areas. Everything was very clean - including the bathrooms. Trisha was an amazing hostess, and served us a delicious breakfast. We will definitely stay here again when we come back to town. Thanks for a great stay Roadhouse team!

Amazing breakfast! Be sure to get the sourdough pancakes (the starter has been around a LONG time and is amazing) and reindeer sausage! We had lunch there too and the reindeer chili that had was delightful - just the right amount of spice!

I cannot say enough about what a good time we had at the Roadhouse. From the moment Trisha (the owner) picked us up at the train station we were like old friends. The little cabin in back was cozy, comfortable, and perfectly-supplied (home-made cookies). The main rooms Are filled with memorabilia and things to help you decompress - like big comfy couches, books, jigsaw puzzles, games, maps, antiques... even sewing. I spent a few hours playing the guitar (next to the piano) and when I broke a string, she had a friend in town bring over a completely new set of strings for me! Amazing!And then there's breakfast... The. Breakfast. If you are on a diet, just don't come here at all. This fat southern boy absolutely loved it. Trisha's pancakes are made with sourdough starter that has been kept going since 1902! There's enough thick sliced bacon and reindeer sausage to feed a platoon, plus eggs, t'maters, O.J., real he-man coffee and... and...... and I'm getting tired of typing. This is already the longest Google review I've ever written. Ya'll just go there, OK? Trust me, it's great!P.S. We accidentally left some stuff behind in the room and Trisha shipped back to us free of charge. It was waiting for us when we got back to Texas. Thank you Trisha for a wonderful stay. We can't wait to come back!.

Ginger Molasses cookies greet you in your room as you scurry from your car. The fireplace is crackling and once the warmth sinks in you are overwhelmed by the coziness of the Roadhouse and the history.The propieter has done an amazing job of balancing the restrictions while still keeping the fun of the roadhouse and everyone safe.She is very friendly and chock-full of knowledge.It's a short relaxing drive from Anchorage and a great mini vacation to unwind and destress.Highly recommended local business.

I LOVE THIS PLACE! It's CUTER than a button and super cozy. Trisha is so awesome and extremely helpful. There were homemade cookies in my room awaiting my arrival. A fire going in the reading room. I seriously just want to live here! Oh... and there's a FRENCH PRESS in my room!!!! LOVE!!

We got a great little room with these guys on short notice and the price was very affordable. We accidentally left some belongings in the room and they went above and beyond to return them to us. Thank you guys for the hospitality! We'll definitely stay here again.

This is the kinda' place that money can't recreate. The history of outdoor pursuits all over the walls, the log cabin like interior,, the cookie subscription they provide , the several stone hearths and the home cooked food supplied in the morning, warms your soul like a cup of hot chocolate brought to you by a your grandma on a cold night. This place is exactly what you didn't know you needed. I will come back here, over and over again.

One of my Favorite Stops in Alaska, by far. Someone on the Alcan Highway told us to stop in here, and the experience lived up to our expectations!!! Out of all the places we visited on our 2 week visit of Alaska, this was the place I remembered the most. So unique and fun and interesting inside, I’d go all the way up to this town again just to visit this establishment
