My friend and I had a great time on Talkeetna Gear Shop's bike and brew experience. We had never used e-bikes before and are tempted to buy one.We took photos of Denali, checked out a local creek, explored a bit, and finished up with a yummy pizza and drinks at Denali Brewing.Hailey, Tyler, and Ryan were all great! Thanks for an awesome experience for a lazy Sunday in Talkeetna. I highly recommend this experience!

I wish I could give this place 100 stars. Best customer service experienced in my life. Shawn is an awesome, generous, and passionate person who loves adventures and Alaska. He is so excited for you to get out and experience the outdoors and is genuinely excited to help you get there any way he can.So the shop needed a couple more weeks to officially open and they were still setting up/getting bikes and gear, but we were trying to cycle through Denali while the park was closed in May. Because the season wasn't in full swing, we couldn't find a place to rent bikes outside of Anchorage! That's when we called/emailed North Shore Cyclery and despite being closed, Shawn contacted us back and offered to help us. He said he can put together two fat bikes, locks, extra tube, and all the tools we needed for the trip! The next day before we went to go pick up the bikes, he told us that unfortunately he realized last night that he didn't receive the tools to put together one of the bikes yet. But! He said to swing by nonetheless and that he would lend us his own personal fat bike! I was so shocked at his generosity. We had an incredible experience riding in Denali (even rode right into a bear on the road) and we wouldn't have been able to experience that without Shawn. When we returned the bikes, he was so thrilled we had a great time. You don't see people like Shawn around anymore... He reminded us that kind people leave a lasting impression on others. I can't recommend this shop highly enough. It's worth making the stop at Talkeetna on the way to Denali to rent/buy gear from North Shore Cyclery.

Excellent bike shop and great rentals. The fat tire was a great choice for the trails, gravel roads, and the paved path too. My only wish would have been more time to go a bit further!

This bicycle rental shop was great on our visit to Talkeetna. Very friendly staff, well equipped shop, and great bikes. Their location is also close to good trails.We rented two fat tires, a kid's mountain, and a trailer, and had loads of fun riding to Talkeetna River, at a decent price. The fat tires were awesome on the gravel. Michelle made sure we were setup just right for the ride.

We rent a cruise e-bike for 4 hours, which allowed us to enjoy Talkeetna! While most trails were manageable, one provided challenging for a cruise bike. I'd suggest considering a mountain bike for more extensive exploration!

I can't say enough great things about Shawn and crew. My daughter just came to town for the summer without a bike. What was she thinking. Shawn hooked her up with an awesome Specialized mountain bike, WITH a lock and helmet @ a VERY reasonable price all this on Easter day.

Offers a huge variety of gear rental at a reasonable price. Snowshoes, cross country skies and poles, bicycles, fat tire bikes, and all the equipment is up-to-date gear and fitted for you! Convenient location. Helpful staff. And directions to the best site seeing, trails in Talkeetna! A must when visiting Talkeetna !

A real top-notch experience. We rented two fat-tire bikes to ride the Denali highway, and the bikes were awesome. I've been into riding my whole life and it was a great surprise to find such a quality outfit near to Denali. Not only were the bikes high quality and in excellent condition (almost brand-new), but we were given everything we'd need for a multi-day trip including spare tubes, tools and locks. The owner Shawn really knows his stuff and can give advice based on his personal experience and knowledge of the area. This place has a real Local-Bike-Shop feel, and I wouldn't consider going anywhere else if you're looking to rent in the area.

Four women from Anchorage rented bikes for the day. We had a blast. The bikes worked really well and the owner was relaxed and extremely helpful.He adjusted the bikes to each of us before we took off and he mapped out a route for us to take over the course of the day. I highly recommend this shop. Great fun and very chill.

Had a blast getting to know this amazing duo who run the town's shop. I could not believe how many bicycle selections he had. His rental prices could not be beat. Once I settled on my sweet ride, no body could catch me. Also, before you leave, go inside for some sweet fudge, amazing coffee, and original stickers! I will be back, Shawn! If you're going for any kind of mountaineering equipment it's not actually a great shop. It's more of an REI garage sale. It's a cute boutique in the front, but I think calling it a great shop is misleading.

Loved the easy check-in process, ability to rent bikes by the hour, the kind and educated staff, and the amazing tips and route ideas to take the bikes.We had a great time in this beautiful area and it was so nice to get to explore on bike. It's a wonderful staff with many options and I highly recommend checking them out!

Sean was fantastic, great route advice and exceptional service. If you want to talk vintage bikes…I think we could have spent the day doing that! If you go to Talkeetna and skip biking, you missed Talkeetna.

Shawn (didnt catch the spelling) was great. Locals recommended I try some skiing so I rented a set from this shop. I was in and out very quickly with all I needed and a map and directions. Very affordable so do not hesitate to try it out.

One of the best days I’ve had all summer. Biked the Talkeetna Lake trail and it was super rad. Highly suggest checking this super sweet bike shop out. And the folks there are awsome!!!
