Have stayed here last two summers with friends from South Carolina. Nice, comfortable, and clean. Staff very nice and friendly. Will stay with them again.Rooms: Nice and comfortable.Nearby activities: Off of the main road in Talkeetna. Therefore traffic noise is not a problem. Close enough to walk to activities if so desired.Food & drinks: Breakfast was delicious and gracious servings.

Our host at the Fireside Suites recommended this as a good breakfast spot… he was not wrong! Portions were huge, prices were reasonable and the service was slick and friendly.

Heavily perfumed bed linens make for not the best night's sleep if you are sensitive to smells. Office check-in is in the restaurant so don't be fooled by the lack of an "Office" sign on the restaurant door. No place to hang your coat or anything in the room or anywhere to sit your suitcase other than on the bed. No wifi but you are in Alaska. Website says restaurant is open at 7 but doesn't open until 8. These things aside., the room was clean and the bed was soft but comfortable.

This review is for how accommodating Inn personal is - extremely accommodating!We were coming down from Denali and stayed in Talkeetna to do the flight seeing around Denali. Sadly, the weather wasn’t worth the flight - overcast and rain. We ended up our stay in Talkeetna 7 hours earlier (there’s really nothing else to do for us) and Chris was extremely accommodating to help us catch the bus with only 30 min request to get us to the lodge (mind you it was in the middle of their morning breakfast/brunch rush - the food was amazing and priced was better than anything else in Danali/Talkeetna)The room was clean and equipped great for the overnight stay. It took me (people from Europe will get it) more time to adjust temperature at the shower than actually taking a shower 😄If you’re a belly sleeper - we are out of luck. Bed was a bit soft and I woke up with a lower back pain.Other than that it’s a better than average place to stay!

There are no frills, BUT It's cozy and wonderful! The staff is hospitable to the max. The room was clean and had ALL the essentials. It was affordable, with super convenient access to the downtown area - a 5-7 minute walk down a gorgeous path.I'm SO GLAD we stayed here. Definitely recommend.The nine year old says it was the best sleep she's had. "Six out of five stars" in her book.

Great place to stay! We stayed 2 nights because of the way we were treated. Wanted to stay longer but had to leave. Chris (critter) and family are great host. Gave us great ideas on places to visit.Cabin we stayed in was, very clean and comfortable!Thanks Chris!

Stayed here in April. The worst part of the visit was that the restaurant was closed. I can't remember what stood out to me, but I was so disappointed I wouldn't be able to try it!Other than that, the room was clean, and the most comfortable bed of my entire trip. The owner was very pleasant to talk to, and his suggestion of Denali Brewing Company as an alternative to dine was a great suggestion.This was a beautiful area, and I wish I had more time to explore it.

Nice clean rooms. The surrounding are beautiful, of course, Alaska. A video library is right across the street if you want to pass time at night. I was all by myself on my way to Denali and found it to be really nice, peaceful and well-safe. Since it was late in October the place was empty but I would be glad to visit in the summer and experience the hustle and bustle other reviewers mentioned.

From looking at the outside, we were worried about what we were getting ourselves into. Luckily, we were pleasantly surprised by the rooms, even if they were a bit dated. Although, things took a turn when we tried to go to sleep. The rooms were blazing hot, even with the windows open in the winter. The fridge was in need of repair and made obscene noises all night. Would have helped to watch tv, but we had three channels.The bathrooms were not fully cleaned before arriving and the beds were less than comfortable. There are lots of choices in the area, so make this a last resort.

We walked to have breakfast and it was so good we walked back the next day to have more. Unfortunately they werent open that day so we were disappointed because we just wanted to have the experience all over again. It was that good. I had the french toast and it was fabulous.

We looked forward to our two night stay that unfortunately was cut short by the owners own family member getting sick all over our room. We left after 4 hours of being there, we emailed them what had happened AND called, apparently this wasn’t enough to not be charged the full rate of two days. Many great places to stay in Talkeetna, but this is not one of them

A good inn just off the heart of little Talkeetna. The rooms were well maintained. It is in a rural location so you may see the occasional critter. The breakfast is awesome.

There's nothing Swiss about this inn, the rooms are plain, and have the look and feel of a college dorm, the cabin is much nicer, photo attached. Food is good, but there are better choices in Talkeetna town which is a short walk from there. If I were to do it again, I'd stay elsewhere.

I paid $136 for a room only slightly larger than a queen sized bed. This is a $50 room at most. The TV is one I have not seen for 15 years - a portable VCR 14" TV! No AC. Not even enough room to open my small suitcase on the floor. Make this your last choice if everything else is booked.But I must add the staff are very friendly and helpful, and genuinely care about their guests. Very nice people.

Very outdated rooms, no refrigerators, no working telephone, broken window screen, no cable, slow wi-fi, but the room and bathroom were clean and it was relatively cheap for the area and season. Close to "downtown" Talkeetna, gave recommendations for local activities and food. Not great, but an okay place to stay for a night overall.

Not even close to the advertised. No A/C, no phone. There is a TV (19") only 4 chanels. No tissues and the desk clerk refused to replace them. The beds and pillows are very old and uncomfortable. The pillows were pieces of spunge rubber and mattress was old worn out and lumpy. The breakfast was horrible. The desk clerk had a very bad attitude. On a good note the place was clean.

Clean rooms, friendly staff. And awesome customer service...and I mean awesome. My girlfriend and I got stuck in the snow outside of town, we called the front desk just to get a number for a tow company. At 8 at night, Chris came out and got us unstuck. Free of charge. And he seemed very happy to help us. I will stay at the Swiss next time I'm in talkeetna.

Decent room for the price. Found dead shrews in the traps in the room, but the owner was very helpful and kind in removing them. The customer service is top of the line here. Will return again.
