The recent rain had the river too high to fish but the sightseeing trip was just amazing and super informative. Our guide Cole and his dog Curry were just great. The owner, Aaron, was beyond amazing. Got to experience my first time fishing in Alaska with an early season trip with Phantom. I wasn’t really sure what to expect but had the best day even though it was cold, rainy, and gray (that’s Alaska for ya). We were provided with gear, great instruction, and enthusiastic guides in Scott and Taylor. Both were personable and helpful - and when my toes were freezing, they found me warmers to put in my waders. I started the day as a first-time fisher and left hoping to do it again. I can’t wait to be back out on the waters with Phantom later this summer! Definitely one of the best Alaskan days I’ve had.

Scott & Rhett at Phantom charters were FANTASTIC! Would highly recommend booking them for your next salmon fishing trip. Very knowledgeable, very personable, and Scott went out of his way to accommodate our father who has a bad back. We caught our limit and then got to do some ‘catch & release’ fishing just for fun. We’ll definitely be back!

Hey there - we booked out of Talkeetna on Tuesday. We were guided by Calvin. We wanted to reach out and give Calvin an At-A-Boy. He was super accommodating and made sure we had a good time. He’s a good dude. We’d definitely go out on the river with him again.

The whole Phantom Tri-River Charters team was very friendly! I give a 5-star rating even though we only caught one rainbow trout (we were too early in the season) as Dawson and Rhett were both so cool and accommodating.We started out as a group of 4 that after a couple hours became a group of 2. Once it was just my wife and I, Dawson took us to a more secluded creek and gave me some fly fishing lessons. Sure, I didn't catch anything, but we had a great time talking and learning.I would highly recommend this guided fishing excursion and furthermore I want to come back when the salmon are running so we can really do some work!

Great time on the river with my wife and teenage boys. Scott was a friendly, patient guide, and the jet boat ride was a blast. Tough fishing conditions, but he still put us on em! Would definitely fish with Tri River again!

Amazing service. Me and my wife did the morning charter and then the drop off service the next day. We both limited out on delicious sockeye salmon before noon on both days. We would highly recommend and will use them again next time we go to Alaska.

First rate guide service! We had an absolute blast with Scott yesterday. He was very knowledgeable and spot on. His wife Debra makes check in a breeze,. She will even take your wet hip boots off for you is you don’t listen and wade out too far when you have a fish on! Hands down, our best fishing experience ever. Glad to meet the owner Rhett too. Can’t wait to book again with Scott, he’s awesome!

Unfortunately, my husband wasn't able to go on a trip because they were booked up during our stay here. But I wanted to share our experience when we went to their shop to see if they had any openings.The people there were so helpful! I wish I could remember the name of the young man that really helped my husband. He told him about good fishing spots in the area and explained what kind of fishing gear works best.We really appreciate him taking the time to help us out. Good people work here!

I'm traveling in Alaska, I came from Brazil to do several fishing trips and they were all satisfactory... except the one with Phantom Salmon Charters....I made my reservation more than 4 months in advance and the day before the fishing trip the company sent me an email changing the meeting place. That's why I missed the fishery and the company didn't give me back the money.The only bad experience I had in Alaska was this one. I don't recommend this company to anyone... I tried to reschedule the fishing for the next day but they didn't have any vacancies.

If you want action, and catch plenty of fish, try Phantom! Allen, super nice and very helpful. Knows where to fish on these large rivers you will go home with the best fishing experience ever! They gots the boots, waders and all you need.

Stop your search, these are the people you want taking you fishing on the Talkeetna River. We booked 4 days of salmon fishing. After the first day, we added a 5th day.The guides are first class. Shoutout to Captns Scott and Calvin. Very patient with the 2 first timers in our group. Even helped facilitate shipping our salmon straight to our doorstep back home in Florida. Can’t wait to get back!

This was the best fishing trip my Dad and I have ever been on. Booking was super easy online, and Aaron was quick to answer any questions we had in advance of our charter. Day before the charter office folks helped us with our fishing licenses and filling out release waivers. Day of charter, Cole came and picked us up at our cabin and drove us out to the boat dock. From there we were in the very capable hands of Rhett and Hayden along with two other folks fishing on the charter. Hayden and Rhett were fantastic. Both guides made sure everyone had hip waiters, caught at least one fish, took pics of our catches, helped untangle fishing lines, brought over our snack bags, rescued lures off the bottom of the bank, and boated us around several different spots on the Talkeetna river to catch the most fish. We got to cast off the river bank and plug fish off the back of the boat. I caught a rainbow trout and a dolly varden, and Dad caught 2 rainbow trout and 2 dolly varden. Rhett the guide and captain of the boat for the day even rode us over to the end of the Talkeetna River to get some pics of the Denali range before heading to shore. Hayden then filleted and bagged our dolly varden for us to cook for dinner. Cole picked us up from the boat dock at the end of the trip, and drove us back to our cabin. Highly recommend Phantom Tri-River Charters!!

Me and two buddies came from Texas and had never river fished for salmon before. Rhett and Margo, the owner's, were extremely helpful to 3 guys who didn't know what they were doing. We hired them to do the drop off service, rather than a fully guided trip, but they spent a good 30 minutes with us before hand showing us the correct knots to tie and giving us pointers on where to find the salmon, etc. They weren't extremely patient and helpful even while we were on the river. In about a day and a half each of us caught around 15-20 salmon apiece!We had fun doing the drop-off trip, but I would probably do a guided trip next time just to learn from Rhett! He's a super nice guy and has story after story that a bunch of Texas boys enjoyed hearing. Thanks Rhett and Margo for being so hospitable!

Best fishing trip ever! Rhett and Margo where very professional and fun! The guide, Allen, was phenomenal! He knew the river and handled the boat in conditions I would be scared to do. The boat was clean and very comfortable, it was heated for a nice ride to the fishing spot. The waders and gear were in excellent condition! I will definitely be back for more! We had a great time with this charter service. The guides were helpful, professional, personable and knowledgable. They knew the area and the river and were adept at operating the jet boats. They began the trip with a very thorough safety review. We left on time and the boats were clean and well maintained. Even though we knew there was no guarantee about the number of fish one might catch with any charter service, we were especially happy with the number of fish that we caught. Had 2 5 hour days fishing. Margo in the office was great answered any questions we had always had smile on her face. Other lady in office was good and knowledgeable also. Had rick for guide first day 👍👍👍👍👍was awesome had us on the fish and ready to go at legal fishing time couldn’t ask for anyone better. After limiting out in very short time loaded us up took us to another spot for catch and release. Showed us what to use and turned us loose if we could of limited out again it definitely would of happened. Got us back to dock and filleted fish for us with help. Could not ask for any better service. Second day had Allen. Did great job got us on fish again. Limited out in short time again. Took us to other spot and turned us loose also. Answered questions for us so we could go out on our own the rest of time in Talkeetna. Took care of fish exactly how we wanted them filleted. Whole crew did AWESOME JOB!!!! Could ask for anything or anyone better!
