Great sport store - particularily hunting shooting fishing. Appropriate apparel for same. Prices moderate - might find less expensive on-line, but then ya can't try them on or fit for size, length of pull, how the rod feels in your hand' or any other "try it" experience.

I recently purchased an HM Defense HM-50 from Sportsman's and am impressed with how quick it was shipped and Mark and Steve at the gun counter are very helpful. The HM-50 is a dream to shoot, super accurate and Clay at HM Defense is very helpful with lots of ammo information and reloading tips. This is the very first review I have ever made, Big Thanks to Sportsman's and HM Defense.

Having a local place to buy items that you can try on or try out is essential for many items, and if you think you can find it cheaper online, they usually price match, and sometimes their sales will give you a better price. It's a bit difficult to find assistance, though. Still, it's better than shopping online.

The prices of ammo are not as advertised on the store shelves. I went to buy shotgun ammo and the boxes marked as 8.99 were actually 17.99 and the ammo marked as 9.99 were 11.99. Several days later my brother had the same issue trying to buy ammo marked as 8.99 and was actually charged 10.99. I’ve never had this problem before and am disappointed in the staff for not honoring their mistakes in pricing.

Great location, plenty of fishing gear and great location. It was nice having it so close that we could run over to the store if needed. We had one of our reels break, so we ran to the store and grabbed a pole and reel which was very quick. Staff was nice and helpful.

Service was great! Went in to purchase a new hands gun (.45) process was simple and concise. Instead of filling out forms in paper, everything is digital and completed on a tablet. This minimizes questionable handwriting and mistakes in getting clearance for the sale. I'd highly recommend the firearms service counter and the gentleman that helped me out. Just remember: bring your government issued ID with your physical and a government form, of some sort, that has your physical address if your ID only has a PO Box.

Went in looking for nice pair of sunglasses, went up to counter where glasses were located sales associate quickly helped me I chose the pair I wanted he proceeded to unlock the cabinet they were stocked in but lock was given him problems he proceeded with a conversation that was pleasant before I knew it I followed him to check out( security reason due to the shop lifting problem this whole country is going through time to start arresting and prosecuting these thieves) I was in and out within 35 minutes very good experience.

There are some very rude and judgemental employees. Beware of this if you plan to buy anything in the firearms dept. Not all of them, just a select few from that select department.

Don't know why but the Soldotna Sportsmans is the BEST when it comes to hiking shoes, socks and deck shoes. The only one in the state that is stocked up! Wish Fairbanks was this way!

They have a limited selection for a larger store (and I totally understand the Covid thing about store selection). However, I called before I went in to get some line on a reel and they told me they had enough. They were wrong and had to take the line off. Furthermore, the lady that was helping us line the reel had no idea what she was doing. On the other hand, the gun counter has excellent service. They usually have a good amount of hiking equipment as well.

I went in to look at and purchase a pistol. They didn't bother to acknowledge me until I butted into the conversation the employees were having with each other. The whole time they acted like my business wasn't important right up until I pulled out my debit card and they were trying to upsell the purchase. I'll find what I want somewhere else from now on.

Not very nice or helpful at ALL. We arrived for a fishing trip in AK. My friend got his AK fishing license wet so we went to Sportsmans Warehouse to have them reprint it. (We have one in our town and shop there often) They said they could not reprint the license (even though it is in the federal or state DB), because we didn't buy it there. (No kidding, we just flew in. Where should we go back to Washington??). So we drive down the road to a little local hardware and tackle shop, and for a small fee they reprinted the fishing license no problem. So we spent a bunch of money at the local shop on fishing gear. We will NEVER shop at Sportsmans Warehouse again.

Did an online order for same day pickup. The lady I called when I couldn’t locate our order (I’m sorry I don’t remember her name) was great! She helped me locate the order I had placed and got the auger I ordered ready from my daughter to pick up within minutes! Thanks for a great experience!

I had hear horror stories about prices in Alaska, but these guys were pretty much on target with their catalog prices. The store was big and VERY well equipped. DEFINITELY the place to get your supplies if you forget or run out.
