Although we live almost two hours from Soldatna, I am so grateful for my fumble in not realizing an original appointment with what I thought was a local animal hospital was actually in Nebraska...hence rescheduling with Soldatna Animal Hospital. Now my dog HATES vets and so to my surprise when we arrived and other dogs were around he did not growl or bark while we filled out paperwork. When we entered the exam room we expected to be told we had to wait outside, a common thing at our old vet in WA, post-COVID. The vet was so easy-going and to our utter shock, we could go in with our precious fur-baby. The vet didn't even initially make us get our fur-baby on the exam table...we got to explain what was going on with our pup. When it finally came to put our dog on the exam table our dog was still very surprisingly calmer than a usual vet visit. Past vet visits in both WA and CA our dog would be muzzled because of his growling and attempts to guard his personal space. Not here at Soldatna Animal Hospital. The vet was immediately able to pet our pup (another thing he doesn't like from strangers until he was comfortable with the new scent). The vet just continued to pet our dog and even offered treats. Although our pup refused, we believe it was only because he wasn't feeling well. The vet eventually was able to examine our dog and she did it without our dog being aggressive in any way. I was just shocked and couldn't believe how well our dog was being. The only time we began to see any stress by our pup was when he had to go in the back to get a blood sample. Even then the vet was still able to pick up our pup without our pup exhibiting any fear response behavior. It was like the vet hypnotized our dog and he was OK. In the 12 years we have been taking our dog to vets, never have we seen him comfortable with any vet. So the least I can do is give Soldatna Animal Hospital the props it has earned. I am so happy that Soldatna Animal Hospital will be there for the senior years of his life.

Bonnie loves coming to visit with her favorite vet and staff! Yesterday was valentine’s birthday for Bonnie. She had special treats and got to share some with staff pups too! Dr. Meezie gave Bonnie clean bill of health and shared much love and hugs! We had a pawsitively wonderful visit! 🐾🐾🐾❤️❤️❤️❤️

We have had an excellent experience with Soldotna Animal Hospital.. It’s easy to get an appointment when my girl has an issue. They can take urgent problems when needed They are always very thorough, friendly and caring. They are technically savvy and you can submit paperwork online before the appointment. I’m impressed with them and they have become my dog’s regular vet.

Dr. Grady and staff are welcoming, kind, caring and compassionate. We had an emergency when our girl was injured. We are so thankful that she was able to be seen and treated as soon as we could get her to the Soldotna Animal Hospital from Seward.

Very impressed with Stacy, the Vet we seen & all the staff we encountered on our visit. We recently moved to Alaska & I was very apprehensive about finding a vet we felt comfortable with & could trust to care for our baby as well as the vet we had in the lower 48, whom we had been with for ten years. Well, I can safely say we found them here yesterday, Stacy & the staff were very kind, caring & thorough with my pet & that meant the world to me! I highly recommend this Clinic!!

These people really do care about our fur babies! They spend as much time as necessary with them and never treat us like a number. The place is always clean and the employees are really efficient.Most recently I brought my kitty in for a check up and a concern I had. The doctor was very thorough and explained things in a way that was easy to understand. We left feeling relieved and pleased that everything was addressed.

My dear old friend Butterfly (a tuxedo kitty) is nearing the end of her life. She was treated with gently kindness and soft kind words. The staff understood the delicatness of this time for the human family involved and worked out reasonable, professional options. I appreciated them all!!

Yesterday Soldotna Animal Hospital saved the day! We got a new dog a few months ago and haven’t had the chance to bring her in to the vet yet. Yesterday morning she woke up throwing up with swelling in her face that got worse as the day went on. I called and talked to Chelsey, who is always the sweetest, and she had us come right over, even though she hadn’t been seen there before. It was clearly a busy day for them but they worked us in and the new vet we saw was so nice! I’ve been bringing my other dog to them for years now and I’ve yet to have a bad experience. It just solidified that we have the right clinic to look after our fur babies!

Hospital got my cat in the same day but neglected to advise, while on the phone, I would be charged an additional fee of $76.50 for same day service (urgent care), plus an exam fee of $79.50. Truly thought there was a 2:30 pm opening. Pretty shocked when I got the Invoice!

You need to improve the manners of the front desk person. She have to realize that our visit is not free. We pay for the service. So maybe find someone who is compassionate. Thank you! The Doctor and the staff are great besides the front desk people.

I’ve been working with Soldotna Animal Hospital for 2 years now after I needed an emergency c section for one of my dogs. Even though it was the middle of the night and staff had to rush to the clinic to open it and care for my girl, she was given the best care I could have asked for. I was let know ahead of time of cost estimates, things that could go wrong and ect. It was an extremely hard time for me and I was allowed to say goodbye to the baby who passed away as well as sit with my momma and comfort her as she was waking up. Staff were all extremely patient and helpful and even took on the care over and over to try and help another pup survive who was not in the best health. Fast forward 2 years and I took a male in for OFA hips and Elbows and I was extremely pleased to have Staff go out of their way to make sure he was cared for and his needs where accommodated for. I was also professionally and compassionately informed about breeding a dog who has to be muzzled for a vet visit. Staff where extremely kind to ensure he was getting the best care possible and I as an owner was taking into consideration the best way to care for him as a dog who needed the use of a muzzle. I was very anxious about the whole visit because it’s hard to have him out of my site and in the hands of others but staff went above and beyond to give him the care asked for as well as clip his nails and inform me of an ear infection as well as treat it the same visit. I never felt rushed away from my dog and I was made to feel that every single staff member had my dog in their best of interest. All interactions with staff where very nice and calming and helped me to get through the appointment feeling as though my dog was in the best hands and would be cared for with the best possible care.

My little Guy took a tumble out of a truck and hurt his little legs, Soldotna animal hospital was able to fit me in , so Nico could be seen. The staff at soldotna animal Hospital is amazing very compassionate and professional. At the end of the day Nico was able to come home after having x-rays and prescribe meds. He is now recuperating and doing well. I would highly recommend Soldotna animal Hospital..

In August 2017, I took my 10 year old, 8 pound Yorkiepoo, who was in excellent health, to the Soldotna Animal Hospital for a teeth cleaning. There was no plan and I did not give any consent for the staff to extract any teeth without contacting me first. My understanding was that she was only going to get a regular teeth cleaning. They failed to contact me to tell me they wanted to take any teeth out before they did the procedure. I called three times that day to check on her. Not once was I informed that they had extracted any teeth. She went in at 8 am and they did not call me to pick her up until 5 pm that evening. When I got there, they informed me that they had extracted 19 teeth without any previous contact or permission during the day. I then asked for her teeth, and they said they did not have them, that they had already thrown them away. (WHAT!?) She was under anesthetic for over 2 hours. She lost weight over the next 2 weeks and to this day she cannot eat dry dog food or chew on any Greenies. It was totally unethical for a veterinarian to extract 19 teeth without notifying or asking permission from the owner. I will never bring my dog to them again.The lifeless pictures are of my dog after I picked her up from the Soldotna Animal Hospital.

My puppy needed her first shots and dewormer. I was on a limited time frame and they got her in the day we needed. We got there early and they got her appointment done in 5 mins. The lady that helped us was super sweet. Great first experience for my girl.

I really appreciate the friendliness and professionalism of everyone on staff. My precious baby went in to be spayed and the doctor kept me informed every step of the way in an honest, respectful, and reassuring way. I would recommend these folks for any animal.My dog considers them to be the worst babysitters ever but her vocabulary is limited. I would hate to see what she would write on Yelp. ;)

I took my dog in for a vaccine. The front desk lady is seriously lacking in customer service skills and really shouldn’t be in that position. I had my two kids with me. Both my children and my dog are extremely well behaved but they all just seemed to immediately annoy the front desk lady.While we were there, she managed to snap at me, my son, and two other employees. She treated me like I was stupid. She acted very annoyed when I asked her to update my dogs microchip and I was very thankful that someone in the back overheard and said they could easily do that because the lady at the front desk just gave me a look like I shouldn’t have even asked and tried to tell me they didn’t have the information for his chip.Overall, all the other staff was super nice and the facility seemed nice. I seriously hope the front desk lady was just having an off day and conducts herself better in the future. Oh man, she was so rude, I wish I had caught her name and I just hope it’s a different person the next time I take my dog here.

These folks have been our vet clinic for years, and through all of our pups they have delivered great care. Once the clinic was purchased by a corporation I was not sure how the service and care would be, but I find it to be just as high quality, our long time doc is still serving there, and the staff has been very helpful when we call. We had a issue arise with our cocker and they gave me instructions and then made room to get her in to been seen.The follow up care was so important to have.Thank you for the great care!John and Kathy Haley
