Bought 2 angelfish from this location and I should have known, when I saw the Beta fish's containers-they were dirty and a couple of them dead, not to buy from here. A nice young gentleman assisted all our needs, including which tank to buy. He specifically pointed out which ones, so we bought those that he recommended. Sunday my fish passed away. I called the store and a lady immediately on the defense, said I bought too small of a tank. I told her the tank is what the gentleman recommended and she said he said it would be too small. He did not say that. Then why would I have bought the tank he pointed out? Everything we bought that day was what the young man recommended. He was nice and helpful to an extent of this situation. I am not recommending to purchased from this store location. Spent $90+ dollars. The lady said they need 30 gallon tanks to live good. When I asked for the guy's help I said we wanted a fish that was easy to take care of, weird or cool, freshwater fish, and something a 15 year old can take care of. Waste of my daughter's time and waste of my money.

Made an appointment for two of my dogs for grooming. I was told the last time with my other pup that I could drop them off early and they would call me when they were done. I got there 20 minutes before the appointment as I had an appointment in town before their start time and I live out of town. They would not allow me to drop my dogs off early and did not even attempt to show kindness or try in anyway to help. I stated that the person I talked to before was fine with me dropping off early she stated that isn’t allowed and I’ll have to wait until the appointment time. So I had to leave in order to get to my appointment and she just canceled them both. I have 4 dogs and I will not be returning to this location due to poor customer relations.

The staff here was super helpful. I had a crate arrive, very broken, that I ordered online during a sale. They took the return and contacted me when a replacement arrived and honored the original price I paid. Highly recommended this store and its staff.

The Petco groomers in Alaska are awful. Rob and I spent $80 on just a bath, it sounds more like a spa day for Daisy, but seriously, it seems like a waste of money to us! Don’t Bother 😡 NO HAIRCUT?! Wtheck!!! 🐶🐾Update: we wanted her to get a haircut and all we got was a wash/ brush for $80 what the heck

Will not honar online prices because we live in alaska even though told couple days earlier that they would and have done it before with multiple items. The tanks always have dead fish in them and are always sick. I went to the competition and spent my money elsewhere. ordered fish online all bought elsewhere will not shop there again....

We had a positively wonderful experience at Petco with Marisa. She was such a patient and encouraging dog trainer. She gave us wonderful tips that actually worked and reassured me that my dog was trainable. I noticed a difference with my dogs behavior after 6 weeks. Highly recommend!

We usually shop local at our Kenai Feed store but sometimes we have to go to Petco. Our local Petco has always been a good shopping trip. The employees are always smiling and willing to lend a hand or help you find something. The store is clean and shelves are stocked. I also really enjoy how many folks bring in their pets for their shopping trips. We never utilized the puppy training sessions but I enjoy that they have them. We have gotten all of our dogs collar tags made here. This last trip when we went my husband donated to one of their causes helping animals in need and we got a really neat reusable tote. If you can’t shop local I do believe that our Soldotna Petco is a great alternative!

Love the store, the pet salon has had quite the turnover of staff, but myself and 3 friends bring our dogs there we always have great service. The main portion of the store could be kept a bit picked up. There always seems to be carts with additional product on them in the aisles. That is the reason for the 4 star.

Bathroom in this location is always disgusting. The soap is watered down and no paper towels to dry hands, sanitary napkin bin was overflowing, always smells bad every time as well. A lot of empty shelf space. Unable to find some products that used to always be stocked, but is now never there. The workers on the other hand are always friendly and nice as well as helpful.

Super disappointed.Went in to get aquarium rocks, a fish and dog food. There were 4 carts in the entire store. All filled with debris from stocking. After waiting 15 minutes for someone to help with the fish i finally went up front to ask for someone. Waited for the cashier to struggle checking out 2 people in front of me.I asked him for a cart and he told me where they are. I explained there are none and i wanted to get dog food and needed a cart to get the dog food…. No movement from this kid he blankly stared at me and told me to retrieve one from the parking lot. When i went out to the parking lot there was 3 carts there. Making a total of 7 carts for the entire store…. I know ive seen more carts than that in this store. Why would this kid not help a customer?Now annoyed with this kid i ask for him to get someone to help me with the fish. He called for someone and 4 people come straggling out the back and argued about who was going to help me.When i finally got one employee to help me he explained that they were all in the back having a meeting about someone’s medication.What should have been a quick stop on my way home took nearly an hour to accomplish because of no cart or employee. I got the fish and aquarium rocks. I will go elsewhere for my dog food.

First the groomer's complained that I picked a later appointment time on the website, changed it to an hour a half earlier and then wouldn't honor the appointment because my dog was nervous. The dog has been groomed at the Fairbanks petco with no issues

Petco groomers are the best!!! The fun, caring, and loving staff always treat our dog Tips like he was one of their own. We’ve been taking him to Petco for grooming since he was a puppy.

Love this location, everyone is really friendly. The items are decently priced, nice selection of pets. I would love to give them a 5 star but those fish tanks are pretty gross (old and past time for refresh), but pets seem well taken care of.

We have a very large version of German Shepherd who is young and learning. An excellent job was done working with him. Will related well to our dog and helped him get through his experience. We have regular appointments!

Needed supplies on a Sunday when another local pet/animal store was closed. They had what I was looking for but the prices were outrageous. Monday went to aforementioned local store and found what I was looking for, 1/3 of the cost. However, employee that assisted me was wonderful and very helpful.

Our 1st time going into a Petco and my son and I had such a good time. We were hoping to see puppies and kittens but they don't keep them at this location. I'm not sure if they have them at any locations. We just assumed that a pet store would have puppies and kittens 😀. But the bird, reptiles and fish were awesome to visit as well!! Actually ran into a friend I didn't know worked there and he was so kind to my son and I and we actually got to learn how to read the salt levels in aquariums. We have been thinking about getting a small one. We had spent about an hour just having fun in Petco. Go give it a look, you won't be disappointed

Most if not all of the pets were being treated terribly cages or tanks to small for their size most were fish i and my sister were taking care of some fish and they died shortly after buying them she only has a few left.

Th staff there is always helpful and kind. The store is clean and well stocked. If by chance they don't have the brand of dog food that I need in their store, the clerk will find it in another location and have it shipped to the store within the next 2 days. I will continue to shop here and would definitely recommend this store to anyone who has pets of any kind!

Staff are helpful and friendly and there always seems to be a good stock of everything. I love seeing all the dog tags/toys for the holidays they sure are darn cute! The crew in the doggy spa are soooo helpful and treat the pups awesome. Prices are a steal! I’ve taken my dog to get washed else where and had to pay $200+ and only have to pay $88 for her here and get all the same services. Highly recommend going to.

edit - changed to 4 stars. outstanding employees make the store better than the sum of its parts.The store is great. the products they sell are of a high quality. you can get most of them for half the price or cheaper online. they will price match, but you have to show them the ad for every. single. item. it's a hassle. the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. to be honest, they are the only saving grace of this location, because i can get the items other places. was going to be a 1 star review if not for the cashier and people helping.

One of the best Petcos I've been to in a long time. However, they have gone down hill alot! The fish aquariums looked horrible, had dead fish all in them and the staff over there wouldn't even speak when spoken too.
