Not the friendliest bunch of people that work there including the owner Grumpy Ken. Buyer beware, no refunds. Un-businesslike and unprofessional. Try Sportsman's Warehouse or Trustworthy Hardware for your fishing needs - better prices and deals.

Totally understand the bad reviews. Rookies that think they know it all are always disappointed. This place is awesome if you treat them right. Ask if you don’t know. They will help you. They will rent equipment and not charge you if you don’t damage it. I love this place. Have respect and you will be respected.

The store rented us partially broken fishing reels then blamed us for the break. The fishing combo only costs $20 to buy but they took the entire $20 deposit for ‘repairs’. The rest of the store is also over priced. Save your time and money and go to the hardware store instead.

Legitimately the worst customer service I have ever received. After purchasing bait for myself and waiting for the person I was with to finish shopping and purchase his, the person I presume to be the owner (as the girls behind the cash register called him Ken) accused me of coming in the day before with a van load of others and buying bait in bulk. He proceeded to take the other bait away from the counter until I informed him the person I was with was not done shopping and he would be purchasing the bait. The owner then dropped the bait, threw a tantrum and went to the freezer removing the remainder of the bait for any further customers to purchase. This was my first day in Soldotna and last time ever shopping at Ken's. Take your business to someone who appreciates it.

I walked in this location and asked where can I find sink tips and the two girls behind the counter had no idea what I was talking about! Another customer had to tell me where it was! They only had a small selection for fly rods and they are far over priced!

"Shady" as mentioned in other comments. Non-locals beware if you rent anything here. There is a reason cash only for deposit and rental, you can't dispute the charge for faulty equipment.
