Stayed for a week here and it was an amazing experience, Tennessee made sure we were taken care of. She is an amazing human being and made sure we felt at home.There are some things to note:Wifi is hard to get upstairs so you have to go to the lobbyNo TV in the upstairs room that only have one bed.Public BathroomThese are all things that didn't hinder my experience, it is a wonderful place to stay and will visit again.

My wife and I stayed here on a short trip to Alaska while visiting the Yukon in December. We had originally just booked one night but loved the town and the hotel so much, we booked another night! The owner/manager, Beth, was fantastic! Very friendly and welcoming and happy just to chat. Because it was the off season and because we were coming in late and nothing would be open, she even offered to order a pizza before the restaurant closed and have it waiting for our arrival. Excellent service, great small town warmth, we would love to stay here again.

Reserved a room here yesterday afternoon due to change in travel plans from covid. Because of confusion with new ferry booking i had to cancel the reservation today. Owner listened to my explanation and in the end agreed to waive all fees to include the my deposit. I would recommend this hotel, even tho i have not stayed here, simply for their customer service.

My husband and I stayed at the Morning Wood Hotel and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Check-in with KayLynn was super quick and easy. The room was very clean and spacious. The bathroom tile was beautiful. I loved the toiletries- including a grooming kit & full-sized lotion!! It’s always a bonus to have a fridge in the room these days! And the coffee pot was a full 8-cups. The bed and bedding were super comfy and provided a great nights sleep!Location: We were directly across the street from the grocery store to grab a snack. In the evening, we stopped into Happy Endings Saloon (just a few steps away) for a relaxing night cap. The next morning, the Station (again, just steps away) provided an amazing breakfast of Irish Eggs Benedict. We recommend staying at the Morning Wood Hotel while visiting the great town of Skagway. You can’t beat the staff or the central location, close to everything!

We spent two nights at the Morning Wood. Wonderful! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was awesome! Super comfy bed. Excellent restaurant attached. Happy Endings bar was a fun mix of locals and tourists. Wednesday night is "corn hole" leaguenight. Professional grade "stadium" in back of bar. Very fun and entertaining.Thank you Shakey and Nerd! We will be back.

Was a nice stay for a work project at the grocery store a cross the street. The station had amazing food. Pizza was great. We also loved the chicken wings. It was great with the sauce on the side.

New and clean rooms. Centrally located to all attractions. Staff was friendly and nice. The restaurant attached had a great breakfast and the bar on the other side, the "Happy Endings" (named after the owners fatherapparently and a fun play on words) had a cornhole setup in the backyard which was really fun. Had a great time and would definitely stay again. I love a place with a good sense of humor. Side note, the restaurant seems to be a favorite with the locals and is open all year round. A+

Stayed one night in the economy room ($97.20 USD after tax).I made my booking via email (I don't believe you can book through third-party websites) and the owner responded to my inquiry within the hour. Ditto for confirming the booking/taking my deposit.The room was clean and bigger than expected. The only furniture is the bed (big enough for two to sleep comfortably) and a nightstand on either side. Very clean and fluffy towels were also provided, along with a impressive and nice-smelling assortment of toiletries. The shared washrooms were also very clean and were stocked with more towels and toiletries. Staff was nice enough.Location is very good and in the heart of tourist-y Skagway. Street and lot parking both available for free. The rooms are connected to an adjacent bar and a bar/restaurant but the noise (we stayed on a Friday night) didn't travel at all.Only downside is no WiFi. Also, our room was up a flight of stairs, which was fine for us but might be a challenge for anyone with a physical disability. Overall, very worth it for the price.

Nice rooms. Would definitely stay here again. Beautiful views right out your window. And you can play catch at 4 am in morning so light. Had a bar on both sides of us and little rowdy and loud late but locals and workers were celebrating last night before cruise boats came in and work begins. Take train ride. There are no chain restaurants here so food can be pricey. There are some smaller places with affordable food. Food trailer in front of hotel was nice. Groceries really high. Can take helicopter up to ride dog sleds. Fish when salmon are running. Check out old cemetery and waterfall behind it. Great history about early settlers.

I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who would like to sleep. The beds are quite soft, but that is not the real problem - the real problem is that our room is so close to the "Happy Endings Saloon" that it is as if the music is in our own bedroom. Perhaps if you had a room further away (which we did ask for) it would be okay, but I can't in good conscience recommend this to anyone.

I was here in the off season, they gave me a room in the new addition for the price of a smaller room. It was clean and quiet, the rooms are very nice. Good place to stay.The Station restaurant however I wasn't a big fan of. Service was ok but the food was overpriced and not great. Tried the seafood pasta, it was spaghetti and a few bites of seafood in a bland sauce that was way overpriced. Had better food and way better service at the Skagway Brewery.

The owner was so accommodating. She facilitated getting me in my room before check in as I arrived early. The following day i received a phone call after I checked out as I was waiting for the ferry. It was the owner informing me that I had left my rings in my room and that she would drive right down to the docks to deliver them.

Amazing staff! Really spacious brand new rooms with beautiful art, triple sheeted beds, granite double sinks, satellite tv!! With a restaurant (Skagway Pizza Station), and Happy Endings Saloon, it's a great location for your vacation. Most comfortable beds in town! Walking distance to everything.

These digs are tops! To be greeted by the familiar warm hospitality of the feeling of friendship was really special. The Morning Wood Hotel does an excellent job of attending to all the details. Amenities galore! Yeah; central location, refreshing, clean, brand new rooms; power outlets everywhere, temperature control, quality coffee, clean-ingredient body care products. On-site lively restaurant with beer, wine and spirits. Thanks!

Very unsure how they have such a good rating. Poor managment, front desk agents very poor attitude. Had quite the mix up with rooms. Bookings all done on a sheet of loose leaf. Doesnt even seem like they know who's coming or going. Not a clue which rooms are booked? Very frustrating. What time do they even open? 11am still nobody in the office. Maybe they switch their staff each year? Not sure. Not a welcoming experience , that's for sure. Also we noticed a few of our belongings were miss after the room was cleaned. Restaruant staff next door are great however!:)

Phenomenal! The courtesy, hospitality and the genuine down to earth care was wonderful. They went above and beyond to help me when I came into town. If you have the chance to stay here I highly recommend it, if not, go to the Station next door, grab a beer and some food and you will be equally satisfied with the service.I have never felt so welcomed to an establishment, town or state as I did on that day.

There was no wifi in the economy rooms (only room available). I thought that since the restaurant closed at 10pm we wouldn't have to worry too much about noise, but the music was loud until much later, it actually got louder after the restaurant closed. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean other than a weird stain on the carpet. I will not stay here again...maybe if I was more of a partier...

Its what you would think - Friendly small town hospitality with Great Amenities..... first thing my wife noticed was the luxurious / high thread count sheets and plush towels - felt like home. The location is amazing. Having a restaurant and separate hotel bar on-site made me smile :) If you like to play Cornhole say no more ... they actually have a Cornhole arena.

Room was what we needed. I would recommend staying here. I was surprised our room #8 was updated (I wasn’t expecting that) it had everything we needed. The only downside is, the walls are thin so you can hear all your neighbors and anyone running outside you hear them.

This place was amazing! Walking distance from everything good. Bar and restaurants attached to the building, the owners were super friendly. Would highly recommend, if I'm ever in Skagway again, I will definitely stay here again
