After mailing some things at the Post office, I inquired as to where I could buy some supplies for my travels. They sent me here. I was surprised to find so many items for sale, mostly shelf stable or frozen food, but available. People were friendly, prices were what I expected for this part of the world. I bought a beautiful ivory carving. Met a private local who invited me to dinner and a place to sleep for the night. The walrus was delicious. Again, thank you for the honor of your hospitality. Very friendly town, people are very busy just trying to live. If you are in this area, this store is it.

One of the most honest places I’ve seen. Try the carrots (if you’re visiting in spring) or just wander around the frozen food section which gives you an idea about history of this place. People from certain towns around across the river are planning a special operation or festival which is expected to happen later this year. Stay tuned.

It is the only general type store on the island, but the people are friendly and many items are very unique to the lifestyle of an isolated arctic island.

Well it's the only store we have so it's the best. A litre of orange juice costs 86 dollars but it's worth it.

People are real nice in the store I was able to trade 3 RAM skins for a gallon of goat milk and four fingers of rice I love this place

Savoonga, Baazinga, Kazuya. Savoonga sounds like New Zealand. Unfortunately you can't buy a refrigerator here. All I want is for my food not to freeze, so I would like a refrigerator to keep my food warm.
