There’s not much to do, or not much to eat in Kotzebue so when you have a bad experience at a restaurant in town and you decide not to eat there anymore but when your cousin comes over and is like hey let’s get empress I’ll buy, of course your gonna say well the food sucked last time, but that was when I spent my own money. This time it was good everything we bought, the eggRolls Mongolian beef fried rice, all of it was delicious and would order it again over and over again

Very small place inside, and service was slow. We ended up asking to take our meal to go because we were running out of time. But the menu had many, many options -- surprisingly robust. I had the yellow curry. It was not like I expected but it was amazingly delicious. Loads of chicken and the curry sauce was fantastic.

Such wonderful owners a d staff. Friendly atmosphere and a great spot right on shore drive. Watch the ocean go by, enjoy the delicious food. You will not regret your visit.The Cheeseburger was great, especially considering where we are on planet earth...lol

Don't judge a book by its cover. This little gem is really amazing. Great asian food for a small Alaskan town like Kotzebue. You can get sushi as well as tradition American fare here. Owners are super sweet and very friendly, 2 minute walk from Nullagvik hotel.

Grace, our kind server is a family person. She was extremely kind and really shared interest in the local culture. If you want a heapload of great food, the empress is the place to go. You get exactly what you pay for. The ginger tea is the spiciest I've had and I loved it. Thai, Chinese and American food served here. Been eating here since I was a young boy in the village. Come back again and again and again.

Good Food recommend the fried rice with all the meat crab rangoon’s are cold in the inside and warm on the outside don’t eat the ginger beef i didn’t like it but my family did.
