I've been. Fishing with Fireweed for many years. I'm 82 and will be back next year. The experience is unforgettable! Wildlife includes many Bald Eagles, whales, sea otters, bears, and, of course lots of fish. Food prepared by chef Donny and his crew is scrumptious after a day of fishing. The lodge is very comfortable and warm. The rooms a modern and well appointed. But best of all is the wonderful hospitality and friendship I have enjoyed throughout the years with the Anderson Family.Noteworthy details: The freendly happy crew and great guides are a quality unsurpassed.

Our best trip to Alaska! And we’ll be back! From the owners and staff to the accommodations and food, this trip was top notch. No I didn’t forget to mention the fishing. Amazing!!! The best we’ve ever had! Beautiful surroundings and very quiet. We highly recommend !!I have great photos but can’t seem to post them on this review. Operator error probably ;)Rooms: Very comfy and quiet. One of my favorite details was the bright lights in the bathroom! Thank you!!Food & drinks: Food was amazing!! Crab every night before dinner. One of my favorite things was the ability to make our own lunch for the day. That was a huge plus!!Noteworthy details: Can’t say enough about our guide, Adam and the fishing!! Fantastic!!

I’ve been on many fishing charters in the past and the fireweed lodge surpasses everyone of them. Josh and chase the have put together a resort that feels more like you’re visiting family than being at a resort. Everything is perfect from the cleanliness of the rooms to the wonderful meals that are served . The fishing guides they have put you on the spots for some of the most epic fishing you’ll ever experience . To come here is an outdoorsman‘s dream and the opportunity of a lifetime.

This was the cutest little gem to find on the island! :)We were leaving on vacation and needed to stay in town before leaving on the ferry early the next morning so we stayed at Fireweed Lodge! What a treat! The rooms were super clean and cozy! The front desk lady made check-in very easy and recommended making a reservation for dinner there and I am so glad we did!For dinner they had two entrees to choose from, so Joe picked and then I chose the opposite so we could try everything . They had an open salad bar with all the fixings you could ever imagine and a dessert bar!! YUM!! It was delicious! Not only did they give us a basket of bread for the table but they also had a lady who sang music for all of us during dinner! It was SO CUTE!! I would definitely recommend trying this place out! And the prices aren't bad either! :)

Located on Prince of Wales Island, S.E. Alaska. Fireweed Lodge is undoubtedly one of the finest fishing locations for all cold water species and river fishing for excellent trout, steelhead and salmon out of the salt. Kings, Silvers pinks , dogs, plus excellent bottom fishing around the islands wait for you. All lodging, food, transport from airport included.This is a premier lodge, family owned, on site, with finest staff, captians to chefs, I'll return.

Definitely THE place I'd stay again having stayed twice already (once each year on business). Chace and Josh have most welcoming atmosphere and the warmest hospitality.I was telling Josh how impressed I am with the quality of workmanship in the rooms and outside. It’s clearly a well loved place that receives great care and attention.The room was very comfortable, quiet, and relaxing. A welcome oasis after a long day.The dining room looks onto a serene lake with a picture postcard forested mountain view behind.And the food is fantastic, in selection, quality, and taste.All at a very reasonable cost.I'm certainly looking forward to staying here again.ST

Having stayed and fished at one of the “corporate” competitors in the area, I can verify that Fireweed is a superior experience.Reasons for my five star rating:1. They welcome you like family- the whole family from the grandkids to the founders are involved in the experience. They are very welcoming and it’s like staying in someone’s home. But, not in an uncomfortable way. You aren’t smothered, so are able to have private time and be around others at your choosing.2. Rooms- the rooms are fantastic. Clean and comfortable. I highly recommend the suites. And it’s true, the fold out couch is very comfortable.3. Food- the food is great. We had a large group with a few dietary requests, which they worked around very well. Not a negative, but you will have to take a break from eating crab for a while after staying here. The service at meals is excellent.4. Fishing- I found the boats and guides to be great. What stood out to me was the fish processing. The smoking option was huge and they did a great job smoking our catch. The packaging and the freshness of the fish once returning home was far superior to my previous experience.5. The Lodge- I personally liked that it wasn’t as remote in that it is connected to a town. Not as isolated. I think having a true airport attached to the area, rather than float planes only, felt somewhat more assuring. The lodge is beautiful. Great view and everything in the main room and deck is very comfortable.We had a very large group and it was very easy to work with them. Value for the money was great and I would definitely stay here again without hesitation.

The Fireweed Lodge is like Disneyland for those who love to fish but in an intimate setting with incredible people, accommodations and food. Three days of fishing and we have more fish than we can eat in a year. If you love fishing you absolutely need to visit the Anderson family at the Fireweed Lodge.

I've been fishing basically all of my life and around the world. My experience at Fireweed this past year was epic! It was so phenomenal that I visited once in June then again in August. Each time I experienced first class lodging and accommodations. The lodge owners ,Chace and Josh make you feel right at home. My fishing guide, Josh(2), was so cool and knowledgeable which made the fishing even better. Anyone looking for a first class fishing experience, Fireweed is your best bet!

My wife and I arrived on Prince of Wales totally unprepared (no where to stay, didn't realize there weren't any restaurants, etc...) and it was raining. Hard! We just showed up on their doorstep and asked for help. Their dining room was full of fishing guests and dinner was winding down. We were able to sit by the fire with the dogs and drink our own beer (no corkage!) while they put a table together for us. The chef turned the stove back on and whipped up a huge meal. By the time we had finished eating the owners informed us they had found lodging just down the road. So grateful to the Fireweed Lodge.

Over many years I've yet to have nothing but great experiences at the Fireweed Lodge. From the moment you walk in the door you feel like you're home as they take you in like family! - the atmosphere and company, the excellent food, the service, the attention to detail. These folks know how to keep you happy on the water - and catch fish. And they know how to keep you happy off the water as you kick back and enjoy the luxury of the lodge, rooms and surrounds of the Klawock estuary and Prince of Wales Island.

This was my first time to Alaska and have historically not been much of fisherman however when the boss says "team building" off you go! Immediately impressed from the moment our small airplane landed. The owners met us at the airport and got us situated very quickly so we could explore. The guides were knowledgeable and provided a quality service to everybody regardless of experience level. It was a very interactive adventure on the water and we ALL caught fish. Lots of them. I still have some in my freezer months later. I usually don't submit ideas to the wife for family vacations but this one I sold hard. Our family of four is coming up this summer and I can't wait!

This is the best place to stay. The couple who run this place call it their home as well. It has a very homie feeling and truly top notch service and amenities. From drinking around the fireplace to playing ping pong and 3 ball til 1am. The mangy dog “Charlie” and deer eating “hank” are one of a kind. These dogs are great and love seeing them. All they want is someone to pet and snuggle them 24/7. Their two boys Luke and jax are a great time and very busy. Love going to the fireweed to hang out with this family.

Sure, the lodge is warm and welcoming, the rooms are comfortable with all the amenities of home, and the food from the kitchen is delicious with generous portions (all you can eat dungeness crab, anyone?), but you came here to fish, and the fishing is incredible! The boats are comfortable, gear is well maintained and guides are knowledgable. You'll catch your limit every day, and the crew at the dock will filet and flash freeze your fish to take home. Hosts Bob and Jeannie will make sure you get what you came for... fish, fish and more fish, but with bonus hospitality that makes you feel like family.

Wow! What a week, so we recently stayed 8 days at Fireweed lodge in Klawock AK, and great googly moogly! These folks know how to make sure you have a great time. Best staff of any lodge I’ve ever stayed at. The kindness in conjunction with their deep knowledge of how to treat a guest is unparalleled. What a great experience, an awesome week on great fishing spent with even better people. I was truly taken back by Bob and his family, they get to know you and really personalize the trip to you, they knew all the details, right down to how many fish you catch, I loved every second of my time there.... I would like to review fireweed lodge in Klawock Alaska. Is because there was really great hospitality in the resort. From when you had your wakeup call and then when you got to the lodge the breakfast was ready and to go at 3 am in the morning. Then you had to set up your sack lunch for the amazing day that you had fishing at the sea. Then after you got back to the lodge there appetizers set up so that you could snack after a long day fishing. Also you could go where ever you want because they provided you with a car so if you wanted to go get liquor you could I really did love this place I went to this is why I give it five stars.

Had dinner there. Very good good service. BYOB (no bar) and it's chef's choice on what you eat. But it's good food and nice atmosphere. The restaurant is closed for the season but when open you can call ahead to see what's for dinner etc... Reservations are required.

The lodge has all new remodeled rooms, new everything, it's very nice, staff as always very nice and helpful. This is a great place to stay, with rec room and hot tub, plus its pet friendly.. I enjoy my stays there...
