I was at Ward Cove Cruise Terminal in Ketchikan on an Alaskan cruise in mid-October. To my surprise, it was not raining, and the weather was absolutely beautiful. When we departed the ship, we went into a huge warehouse. There were restaurants, coffee shops, entertainment, and lots of shopping. I was able to find nice quality tee-shirts for $8. And a beautiful sweater for $12. In the rear of the warehouse are signs for excursions and the complimentary shuttle to downtown. This was a fun stop on my cruise

Super neat cruise terminal! It's an old mill turned into a shopping center and cruise terminal. There was even live music and plenty of shopping with good value! Very quaint and wild west-like.

This is Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) dock in Ketchikan. The down side it is far from town making shopping difficult but they do provide shuttles. Many of the excursions depart from this location so if that is your goal, it isn't a big issue. The dock does have probably the best 'welcome' area I've seen with lots of shopping, including tourist items of all types, snack foods/drinks, travel needs, a waiting area and entertainment the day we were there. As far as excursions go, this port had the best organized meeting points and departures for excursions. Many other pickup locations you have to wander around to find your guide, but this location had a very nice digital display board with excursions listed and then clearly marked meet up points.

Great place to get souvenirs to take home. I bought so much I had to sit on my luggage to close it. Reasonable prices. Something for everyone.

Average tourist and souvenir store witha wife selection of items. Outside are charter buses into town. Also where travelers go for their excursions. Located right when you get off the cruise line.

Norwegian puts their passengers on a shuttle in Ward Cove to transport into Ketchikan. You lose about 50 mins. total. Princess docks in the middle of town. No shuttles!!!! More time to sightsee and get back on the ship.

Old logging shed converted into cruise terminal and bus transfer to town.Great free Wi-Fi. Thanks for that. Lots of local shops, good local beer choices, and mimi exhibition of logging trade.

Ward Cove is a repurposed industrial area far from Ketchikan. Look one way into the bay and see beautiful, look the other way and see abandoned industrial blight. If NCL owns this area, they should rip out the industrial blight and replace with apartments, restaurants, and shops. Or somebody should.

We had to short a stay, and the weather was not the best. We were able to get some nice gifts though.

Great place to buy your souvenirs. If you can't find it then it doesn't exist.

If you have missed the shuttle to downtown or no patient wait for long line for the shuttle, relax, you have just avoided the tourist trap shops, enjoy the little peaceful port would be a good alternative

This was a great pier for the cruise ships to dock at. Ward Cove has a ton of history on the local milling and logging. Wide open with plenty of shops and restrooms. The only complaint is that it it away from the downtown area so you have to shuttle and it took awhile to get through the line but they were well staffed, and the line moved quickly, but it can be intimidating when you have everybody getting off the ship and having to file through the Ward Cove area trying to get onto a shuttle to get to downtown. Overall, it was worth it though and the line moved quickly.

It was a really nice facility! A women played the piano all day and greated everyone as they passed by. It felt almost like a farmers market of souvenirs. Cons would be it's not walkable to anything and the grounds need alot more cleaning up or beautified.

A bit outside city centre, but off course there are shuttle bus services. 15-20 minute drive.

Title: A Hidden Gem - Ward Cove Cruise Ship Pier.I recently had the pleasure of visiting the Ward Cove Cruise Ship Pier in Ketchikan, and I must say, it was a delightful surprise. Previously known as the Ketchikan Pulp Mill, this historic location has been beautifully transformed into a unique cruise ship pier, seamlessly blending the town's rich history with modern amenities. One of the standout features of the Ward Cove Cruise Ship Pier is the captivating display of its rich history. As you wander through the pier, you'll find various artifacts and exhibits that showcase the area's industrial past. It's an incredible experience to witness the transformation of what once was a pulp mill into a vibrant hub for cruise ship visitors, while still honoring its roots.Furthermore, the man-made creek running through the pier adds a distinct charm and serenity to the surroundings. The gentle sounds of flowing water and the lush greenery create a peaceful ambiance, making it an ideal spot to relax and soak in the picturesque views. Whether you're enjoying a leisurely stroll or simply taking a moment for contemplation, the creek offers a soothing respite.Additionally, the abundance of knock-knacks scattered around the pier is a delightful treat for the curious explorer. These treasures beautifully represent the culture and spirit of Ketchikan. From locally crafted souvenirs to unique trinkets, you'll find an endless array of keepsakes to commemorate your visit. One aspect that could be improved is the signage and information available for visitors. While the exhibits provide insight into the history of the location, I found that additional signage explaining the significance of certain artifacts would greatly enhance the overall experience. This would help visitors fully appreciate the historical context and better understand the significance of what they are witnessing. All in all, the Ward Cove Cruise Ship Pier is a hidden gem worth exploring during your visit to Ketchikan. Its unique blend of history, man-made beauty, and local charm make for an unforgettable experience. Whether you're a history enthusiast, an avid explorer, or simply seeking tranquility in a picturesque setting, this pier offers a delightful escape from the hustle and bustle of the typical tourist spots. They also have a public piano!

Great space to find some last minute knick knacks.Note! There is a public bus that drives to downtown for free... Just like the cruise shuttle. So take advantage of the shuttle line is too long.

New to us. Norwegian Cruise Line built this port. It is fun to shop for stuff, for good Low prices. Ward Cove is 15-20 minutes away from Ketchikan. Bus shuttle is the only means of getting there. 2023.

A warehouse-like place where people sit or shop while waiting for their tours to start. They also have a live performer singing for entertainment.

The port shop here is really nice, but it's the new NCL port and I guess it is still being built. You have to be bussed into town it's about a 20 minute ride. I think I would choose a different cruise line that ports right at the town.

Great prices. Very nice variety of clothes. Tour guides send us off in the right tours. Much better than Icy straights. Incy straights was unorganized. Every person we went to to find our tour didn't know nothing. Great selection of clothes and decent quality and quality and prices.

The line for downtown shuttle is ridiculously long, when there are 3200+ people landing, they can do better than 15 minutes schedule for a single shuttle bus.

Lots of shopping at the pier. Down side is this pier is 7 miles from downtown. You don't want to shop and haul everything with you. When you return it is time to be back on the ship and if course the lines are huge. So many cruise ships. Even with just ours 4700 people make long lines. If your cruise ship can dock downtown you are right at all the activities and shopping.

A large, clean and well lit shopping area. There are clean bathrooms and access to the free shuttle bus to downtown here too. Don't forget to use the free wifi here!
