Like a Walmart and Sportsmans Warehouse combined. Clothes, fishing gear, hardware, guns and ammo, household, hunting, pharmaceutical, appliances, gardening, if you need it, thay have it. If you don't need it, they probably have it too. Great prices and the service is tops.

Cool place. Souvenirs. Post cards. We like this little place! It’s located off the Spit in Homer and they well post cards, snacks, t-shirts and other souvenirs. It’s a super small place but totally Alaskan too. Come shop here when at the Homer Spit! You can shop and have lunch nearby and get souvenirs and post cards for your loved ones.

They have lots of good stuff for our small town. I get frustrated with Joe many "made in China" touristy items they carry.BUT! THEY HAVE AN EXCELLENT HOME-TOWN Pharmacy!! Agood supply of fishing gear. Boots, Carhhardt sweatshirts, a good selection of socks from inexpensive to very good Smart Wool, etc.They paint, tools, Garden supplies, Yeti things. Smoking and barbecues supplies,... cards and gifts. Too much to list!

They stock a little bit of everything, but prices are higher than necessary, in my opinion. Just got the battery in my watch changed. They have some tools, house paint, underwear, carhart clothes,cards,pharmacy, toys,yarn,pots & pans, stand mixers, toasters, and quilt fabric. A little of everything.

The store is well stocked for the tourists. Items are a little pricey - so if you're local consider making a trip to Kenai if you don't need the item immediately.The pharmacy is not at all convenient. Short hours on Saturday and closes at 6 during the week, makes it difficult if you wind up in the ER and need antibiotics or anything after hours. For that, I recommend Safeway.

Great selection! Lots of nesassary health supplies. They have both name brand and generic versions for those on a budget! Go here to get your Alaska souvenirs and even toys for the kids! Check out their vast Lego supply! My idea for them to diversify the market! They have everything you need here!

Coolest hardware store ever.Locally owned, and lately, you can even find an employee that smiles and is friendly, and makes you feel that small town welcome. It wasn't always a friendly vibe in there, 10-20 years ago I didn't care to go in there. Mean employees. So refreshing now, to be smiled at or even greeted as soon as you step inside. It's a friendlier place than it used to be. I enjoy roaming and looking at everything.

Went to try some Oakleys, I didn't find the violet-colored ones I wanted but I did (surprisingly) find other cool stuff.The gentleman who helped me to open the Oakley showcase and waited for me to try on was very friendly and patient. Will go back to this shop for sure.

They have just about everything you can think of for the house and then some. The store is clean and well organized. Everything from kitchen appliances to a large selection of extra tuff wet weather boots.

It's definitely an awesome hardware store that has a great selection of everything. Stopped here on the way out of town to get some things to fix my camper and their selection of plumbing, outdoors, etc. is vast

I recently won a gift card to Ulmers. I do not live in Homer. I called Ulmers to see if I could use the gift card at a true value or one of the locations listed on the top of the gift card, they said no that I could only use it in Homer. I then asked if I could use it online they said no. The lady was rude as well and did not seem like she wanted to answer my questions at all. The gift cards need to be updated because they are misleading.

Our local hardware/groceries/pharmacy and drug store. Lots of fishing and camping gear. Got a small guns and rifles department as well. Fishing and hunting licenses sold at this location. They have a small location on the spit as well.

prices are high. most employees are not well versed in product knowledge. New owners are even worse than the original ones. Mike Quinn gets 5 stars for great customer service. The rest less than stellar!!!!!!!!! Lost my business. I don't need anything that bad that I can't wait a couple days for Amazon to deliver.

Very cool store!!!! We were lucky to have a local tell us about this place and we're so very happy to have found it. They have so much stock and options on what one can shop for and buy. We really enjoyed walking around the store. The staff was very helpful and we really enjoyed talking to them.

Never purchase anything here. I purchased a $80 dollar dremel here about a week ago to use on my boat, got it home, used it once, it stopped working. Brought the product back intact, with the original packaging and the receipt. I was told they do not do returns on items that have been opened. That’s a pretty sneaky scam. I’ve delt with some low life, money hungry stores in my life. But this place takes the cake. I’ve spent tens of thousands of dollars at this location, That’s how they treat they’re loyal local customers. Will never shop here again. 👋

If I could give this place negative stars I would. Absolutely worst customer service experience. I had a question about a pair of socks and the sales lady was unbelievably rude. I honestly feel like I put her out for the 17 seconds she replied to me. Then she had this bitchy attitude towards me after. Another sales lady looked me up and down and scoffed. Did either of these rude ass childish grown women ask if I needed help, if I was looking for anything. NO!!!! If you hate your job that much and don't want to answer questions maybe you need to find something ELSE!!!! I put everything down I was going to buy and walked out. It's shocking to be treated so rude in a tourist town where your customer service needs to be TOP NOTCH.

UPDATE: The owners read this and stated they will use this example in their future training. That were overly concerned. Definitely will go back!Was in need of some insulated gloves, Haley Hansen rubber bibs, Muck boots and some other gear that a friend needed for a job.Also needed rope. Bob was nice and helpful suggesting which rope would be best suited for the task at hand.When we went to check out we also had an exchange.The big overalls didn't have a price tag so Debbie, the cashier, called Marilyn to check the price. As usual Marilyn was smiling, friendly and helpful.Last visit in there I went in for some Salmon Sister XTraTuf rubber boots.I was looking for a specific design and Marilyn went in the back looking through the new shipment to see if they had them in my size. She even called their "sister store" to see if they had them which was unexpected and a pleasant surprise.We've purchased fishing poles, gear and this is our go to store for anything Alaskan when we are in Homer.The guy behind the gun counter seemed a bit reluctant to let us leave our new merchandise there while we sought out the rest of the things we needed but once I asked him his name he seemed to cheer up and offered to check us out right there.All in all a good experience and nice people.It would've been nice to have a bit more interaction and personalized customer service to start with. I had to force interaction and start asking names before I felt like we were being assisted.Next time maybe an escort instead of pointing in the direction of all we needed since there was a sense of urgency and we could've used the professional expertise on gear.Again, have to point out the Marilyn lady's enthusiasm. The first woman told me they didn't have the boots I was looking for....Marilyn actively looked.Thank you Miss.

I just learned that Ulmer's has a no-return policy on ANYTHING in the pharmacy area. I'm not talking about prescription items for which such a policy is understandable. This is over-the-counter items like tooth paste, shampoo, covid or drug tests, vitamins, etc. I tried to return an unopened item today with the sales receipt within a few weeks of purchase. When the cashier couldn't do the return, I was directed to an extremely rude bald guy in the office. He barked at me that they don't need to tell the customer about the 'no return' policy at the time of purchase. I was left with no recourse. Not a good feeling.

Ayways positive attitudes are easier to be around than bored or angry attituded. Anyways, Ulmers is a great store that meets a great variety of needs
