Delicious food & friendly service!! We had dinner at the Black Diamond and followed up the next morning with their ATV tour w/lunch. We were pleasantly surprised with the quality & amount of food. This restaurant has a great mountain view. The smoke salmon tasted so good. The staffs are very friendly. We had the best dinner experience here during our visit in Denali National Park.

Have to be honest, it's a little bit of a letdown. It has some great qualities: nice location, very good and speedy service (clearly they're not cutting corners when it comes to providing adequate wait staff). But the food was.... mediocre at best. I suppose i can only say about the food that I got: the half rack ribs. Portion was large, however the meat was really tough, as in leather tough. Completely the opposite of what ribs should be. The flavor was ok, but the texture was all wrong, just tough. The salad was decent and fresh. Maybe they'll do better with seafood, I hope. Just stay away from the ribs.

Pretty good meal. Friendly staff & nice casual dining area. Cod hoagie pesto chicken were good. Salmon salad & chicken fettuccine were good. Kids had HUGE portion of fries & mini hot dogs.Seafood nachos were good but came out when our dinners were ready so they didn't get appreciated. Good portion of them though & very pretty plate.Roasted turkey with cream cheese & blueberry chutney was a bit of a disappointment. Was sliced lunchmeat & wasn't a hot sandwich. Would be better if it was real turkey & a hot grilled sandwich.Good prices.

We wanted a quieter atmosphere our second night in Healy, so our hotel manager recommended this place. We got the antipasto platter to share, and were both delighted to finally see some fresh fruit!! It was a good mix of things (tbough I wish they had more toast points). My favorites were the prosciutto and olives. My entree was the shrimp linguine which was absolutley delicious. The sauce was fresh and garlicky, paired really well with the tomatos/spinach. The shrimp were big and tender. The staff are also super friendly. Highly recommend!

The wines were delicious. The Shrimp nachos are a must have. We ordered the Pesto Gnocchi and that by far was the best meal I've had in forever

We ate here two nights in a row. The first night I would have given 4 stars, the next night it was barely 2. The menue is broad, the portions are generous and the price is reasonable. The wheels fell off with the consistency of the service and the quality of the meals. When the problem was brought to the owners attention the response was underwhelming which explained the inconsistent quality.

Our guide was excellent in leading the group around the landscape. The side by side was the right equipment to see the countryside abd have sine fun. The food was delicious and plentiful: salmon and ribs with pasta salad, cole slaw, corn bread and corn on the cob.

I ordered a grilled salmon. I was told they serve freshly caught. But the one I had was so dry that I couldn't even finish it. The rice that came along with it was also dry. The only I thing that was good was the asparagus. I am forced to put one star as it doesn;t allow me to post without atleast selecting a star. But it deserves zero star.

If you have a car, come eat here!If you don't have a car, take a tour with Black Diamond Tour Co. (Specifically recommend the horse and wagon which includes dinner). One of the best dinners we had in Alaska.With the tour you get to sample almost everything they have to offer at the restaurant. Wish we would have had time to go again!(Pic of tour)

Awful, we had two tables with 11 people and the waitress was not impressed that we had so many kids. Didn’t want to give refill and it took over 1 1/2 hours to get our food. Yes, we waited because this is the middle of no where and and there are no other choices. For a 200.00 dollar check I, at the very least expected the food to be good, it wasn’t.

If we had the option to give more stars we would! This was a last minute dinner decision for us and we chose well. Staff was friendly & courteous, making for a relaxing meal start to finish. Potions were too large to finish, so we will return for the dessert we had to skip. Keep up the good work - you have a good thing going!!

We were greeted and seated right away, which was great. We were brought waters with the menus and left to decide what we wanted. No drink order was taken at the time the menus were provided, or at the the waters were dropped off. By the time anyone came back around, we were all ready to order.We ordered drinks, an appetizer, and our entrées all at the same time. 4 of the 5 drinks were brought out. Dinner salads were then brought out, at which point my step-son had to ask for his drink as they still had not brought it. The dinner salads and appetizer arrived in a timely manner and were pretty good.When the entrées arrived, the portions were hearty, and everything looked delicious. We were about one bite in when the server came back and asked how the food was. Again, at that point, everything was fine. After that, no one came back around. A few more bites in, and my step-son realized the burger he had asked to be cooked "well" was still pink all the way through.No drink refills were ever offered during our entire time there. When everyone was done eating and we were all just sitting around, I had to go track someone down and ask for to-go boxes. I thought that would indicate to them that we were done and getting ready to leave. Yet again, no one came around.I had to go find someone to ask for the check. I informed them that our check would need to be split two ways. They said that wouldn't be a problem, and they'd let our server know. The server came out with one check and had no clue we needed it split. After two attempts of getting it split correctly, the server brought out the two checks and let us know a 20% gratuity had already been applied to each one.Normally I have no problem tipping 20% (or more depending on the service), but in this case, I felt there was no way that amount of a tip had been earned. The food was delicious for the most part (minus the undercooked burger). All of the food was delivered hot, and in a timely manner. That is the only reason I am giving 3 stars. At the time we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty. By the time we done, we were the only ones there. There was no reason the service should have been that poor.

This review is for the Black Diamond Covered Wagon Adventure With Backcountry Dining which is booked through a nearby resort. There is no place to post this review on the resort's website, so it's going here until I figure that out. Please recognize that this experience is separate from the actual restaurant listed here.I felt like the Backcountry Dining experience was a low point for our time in Denali. First, we arrived as a group of 5, and we were merged into a group of 25 strangers. It was immediately clear this was not as intimate as we had imagined.Second, the wagon ride was fun for about 5 minutes. Things turned south when we realized the chuck wagon attendant was going to lecture us about all-things-Alaska for the entire duration of the 50 minute wagon ride. I recognize that the girl was just following instructions, but my whole party found her chatter to be annoying - especially because 90% of the things she talked about we had heard before. There were some attempts from her to get us engaged but the passengers in our wagon all seemed disinterested.Third, it took forever to reach the dining area. We had booked the experience for 6:15pm, but it was nearing 8pm by the time we arrived at the pavilion for dinner.Fourth, there simply wasn't enough food for our tables. I was under the impression it would be buffet style, but this was not the case. The servers bring out a limited supply of each dish, and when it's gone, it's gone. We had some "big" people at our table and dishes like the chicken thighs and chili ran out fast. Refills were requested for both, which the servers said would be fulfilled - but they were never brought out to us.Fifth, the wagon ride back to the starting location was too long. It was closing in on 10 pm by the time we got back to the start. Again, the wagon attendant spent the entire trip talking about Alaska and I think most of us would have preferred to ruminate in silence.

The food was super delicious. The menu is small but varied cuisine that we all could get something. All dishes from pasta to ribs to burgers tasted like they were cooked with high quality fresh ingredients. We actually went there for dinner 3 out of the 5 nights we were at Denali. The servers were friendly and prompt with water.Parking: The parking is a little tight.Kid-friendliness: Kids menu offered.

We visited here because it was right down the road from our hotel. When we first saw the menu we thought it seemed a bit pricey but we were wrong! The mozerella sticks were perfect with awesome marinara for dipping. My husband ordered a burger and he was pleasantly surprised when they asked how he wanted it cooked. It was done to perfection, obviously hand pressed and a generous portion of fries was included. Best burger he's had in Alaska in his opinion! Our daughter and I ordered the chicken Fettucini and the portions were huge and so delicious we didn't want to stop eating but had to because we were stuffed. We had enough left over for her to eat it again the next night and to feed all three of us the night after that. And it was just as delicious reheated. We will absolutely eat here again and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.

An extreme disappointment.The portion sizes were large but the flavor was extremely lacking.We ordered the seafood platter and various other dishes. The seafood platter came with a copious amount of cheese and a scant portion of seafood.The flavor of the rest of the food was also quite lacking. I would recommend the owners have a conversation with the chefs.The actual diner was quaint and charming.
