A very nice reserve for raptors and bald eagles, specifically. There are 2 areas for this visit, one is the specimen of Alaska animals, and the other is the reservation for the raptors and bald eagles.

Awesome place with very informative staff. The feeding demonstration was amazing and we stayed for about 1 hour. The only downfall was that there was no change table available within the facility and kind of a bummer when travelling with an infant.

Visited the American Bald Eagle Foundation Natural History Museum while exploring Haines in early June 2023. Good place to visit to not only learn about bald eagles but also other wildlife. The resident raptors are very beautiful. Awesome to see them up close! Very knowledgeable aviary assistants.

We wandered around the exhibit of animals you can see in Alaska before touring the raptor cages. The Bald Eagles were my favorite while mom liked the hawks! I almost have a wing span of an eagle! Lol

The Bald eagle foundation has a fine museum dedicated to the raptors of Alaska. Lots of taxidermy mounts inside of many of the typical Alaskan wildlife can be seen here. A nice nod to the native American heritage is also present, in a respectful way. The birds that they maintain are treated well, and interact with their summer interns who both acclimatize the birds to human interaction as well as positively reinforce behaviors that exercise the birds both mentally and physically. It was fun to spend a few hours here, and get to meet both ther summer interns but also their feathered residents.

A delight in Haines! Was sensational to see rescued bald eagles up close and learn about their habitat in Alaska. Also, an array of magnificent other eagles and falcons including the fastest bird in the world, the peregrine falcon.

Good way to spend some time in Port. Eagles were great to see up close. Not too many live animals, which I guess is a good thing since they're in the business of rehabilitating them. The museum side well exceeded my expectations! Nicely done! Happy to spend the entrance fee knowing that it's for a good cause!

At US$15 per person, this place offers lots of specimens to learn about and take pictures of.There are also quite a variety of eagles worth taking a look (especially their 3 majestic bald eagles). And also not forgetting the friendly staff that provides insightful knowledge at different areas every half an hour, and they are more than happy to answer any queries too!

Seeing the bald eagles that cannot be released back to the wild upclose and personal was very nice. Very inexpensive outing 15.00 pp. You also get admission to the small museum as well.

We visited this place after stepping off from a cruise ship. It cost $15 to get in. It was a bit sad seeing the eagals in their cages, but they have all been rescued . It's was amazing to see all information on such beautiful animals. It also have a little shop that you can by gifts for and a section where you can see all about the bears and other animals. A lively little trip .

This place certainly exceeded my expectations! It's great to see live eagles so close, and the rest of the facility has an unbelievable amount of almost-alive looking animals that reside in Alaska. To see the exhibit of bears gives you a realistic view as to why you wouldn't want to run into one in the wild - they're huge! Visit this place - it's reasonably priced and I don't think you'll be disappointed.

Great museum. A few interactive exhibits, amazing taxidermy, wonderful live birds. The team was kind and very informative, particularly McKenzie. Josh was awesome, and, seeing we were taking pictures of my daughter’s stuffed seal, helped us out with a close up.

While in Haines, Alaska you’ll definitely want to set aside some time to visit the American Bald Eagle Foundation. This is closer than we’ve ever been to some of these amazing birds of prey. Do bring along a mask as protocols are still in place. And don’t forget your camera! You won’t need hours to visit as the site can be visited in about 45 minutes and is just a 10 minute walk from the cruise ship pier.

Very worthwhile to spend time to visit. Various live birds to see that they care for due to injuries that they can no longer live in the wild. Plus they have a great exhibit indoors with many animal exhibits. You will be glad you went.

Great organization and great museum. Amazing to see these large birds up close too. Worth a visit. Don't take the posted hours as fact. They will extend their hours depending on when the cruise ships arrive in port to make sure they are open as people get off of the ships.

Wasn't expecting much, but it was strangely enjoyable here. They have an amazing diorama of the various animals that live in this area, as well as collections of animal skulls and other body parts, seashells, and even a small exhibit on rocks and minerals. They have a few scavenger hunts to do that range from easy to difficult, but I think they could carry more in their gift shop. They are home to two bald eagles, as well as a few other raptors, and I recommend taking the guided tour and going to watching the feeding! They only take fifteen people on the guided tours twice a day though, so I recommend asking for a spot when you go!

A delightful place to visit. We don’t like zoos, but this is different. The birds they have on site are there for rehabilitation. Lots of informative displays and we loved the room full of taxidermy examples of Alaskan wildlife. This place is certainly worth a visit.

Cool place to visit. We really enjoyed seeing and learning about so much different wildlife. The live raptor exhibit was awesome. So neat to see these birds of prey up close. My 2 little boys also had a great time here. The gift shop is really unique too. Check this place out 👍

Incredibly informative place. Main attraction are the Eagles, of course, but there are a few other rescue birds as well as an amazing amount of info regarding all different kinds of wild life found in Alaska. Very educational!

This place does such great work. The trainer is amazing with the birds! The birds are so well cared for. Most of their birds have been there for a decade. It’s a very educational experience. You have to visit while you are in Haines.

Love what they are doing here for the Raptors but still hard to see these beautiful creatures penned in and not out in their natural environment.
