Alaska is the most beautiful place in the entire world. Glaciar Bay County Inn makes it even more incredibly beautiful. The service is fantastic, the fishing is phenomenal, and the food is delicious. You won't be disappointed with the views or the experience. The wildlife is amazing and never ceases to wow me. I love Alaska and glacier bay country inn.

This was our best travel experience ever! The lodge and rooms were quaint and very clean. The new dining room was beautiful.. The food for breakfast and dinner was of the highest quality (5 star in my opinion). Lunches were sack lunches to take on the charter fishing boat. Dinner had fish/seafood option or a red meat option and deserts to die for! We saw a black bear and brown bear on 2 different days from the dining room! Fishing was great and lodge provided boots and raingear if needed. The captain of the boat was excellent and filleted the fish at the end of the day. Glacier Bay Country Inn packed and froze the fish for the trip home. We had an overnight stay in Juneau on the way home and the fish were perfect when we got home! If you only have the opportunity to visit Alaska once, I would highly recommend Glacier Bay Country Inn

I just returned from a trip to Glacier Bay where a group of four friends went fishing and stayed five nights at Glacier Bay Country Inn. Everything exceeded my expectations. The service was fantastic, the food was gourmet and their attention to detail was impressive. Our cabin was more than sufficient for four men and they provided transportation to and from the airport as well transporting us to to and from the fishing dock every day. Such a nice group of people.

Family trips with teens can be — an adventure. This was our first year at Glacier Bay Country Inn. After this experience, it’s easy to understand why they are already 50 percent booked for next summer, mostly from repeat customers. The Lindblom Family are like pioneer - entrepreneurs of yore. They build beautiful spaces to enjoy the landscape and wildlife (we saw three brown bear 🐻 while enjoying meals from the dinning hall). Our sometimes finicky-eater teens ate and ate, especially the fresh breakfast donuts 🍩. We all appreciated the dinners featuring halibut, duck, salmon, lamb, and shrimp 🍤 made to savor. The change of scenery, the wild country on the other side of the glass, and a ride to and from Glacier Bay and the Park is a perfect way to encourage a love of nature. The rec room and movie theater doesn’t hurt to have on hand, either. I hope to return someday for a new adventure. Maybe, the Lindbloms will institute a loyalty program? They certainly have plenty of loyal customers. It’s not hard to see why. Easy-going comfort, terrific customer service, tasty food and amazing natural beauty made the Glacier Country Inn a family favorite for us. Thanks to Curtis and the whole crew!

Trip of a lifetime! For my 50th birthday my wife and I decided to fulfill my dream of an Alaskan Fishing trip. We did the four night cabin stay at the Glacier Bay Country Inn, with three days of salt water fishing. The King and Halibut fishing was better than expected. Luke the boat captain, made sure the Halibut we kept were as close to the limit as possible. The Ivory Kings were a bonus catch I will probably never match. This meant full days of catching numerous fish in the process of finding our perfect keepers. After each long and prosperous day of fishing we sat down to a dinner meal better than most 5 star restaurants. Chef John prepared amazing dishes for each meal and was okay with me sneaking in early in the morning for one of his delicious handmade pastries or donuts. Curtis was there serving every role from chauffeur, bell boy, concierge to all around host. This family run business truly meets or exceeds every dream and desire one can think of when it comes to an all-inclusive Alaskan Trip. The property is beautiful, well-kept and there was always wildlife to observe there on site. I'm not big on rating my trips, but this one was so far above my expectations I had to share. The place is beautiful, the people are incredibly friendly and helpful, the location is perfect, and their food is five-star. Their chef was making homemade doughnuts every morning and they were off the charts good. Perfect roasted duck breast, tri-tip, brisket, salmon, halibut, shrimp...beautifully executed soups...all of it was amazing. The fishing expeditions were fun and really got into the fish. I brought home a 50 pound box of fish they filleted, vacuum-sealed, and froze for me. This is the place!

The staff at Glacier Bay Country Inn exceeded our expectations. I went here with my husband and everyone was very hospitable. It is a family owned business and they made sure they also treated us like family. We stayed in a cozy cabin, ate delicious meals served in a cute dining hall that overlooked a beautiful meadow with spectacular view of the mountains, roasted marshmallows over a campfire and ate s'mores. We also went on a fishing charter and brought home plenty of salmon and halibut. We will definitely come back!

Wow we loved this place!! We stayed in the new family suite with our 2 adult kids and it was so great! This resort really thought of everything a family would want. From the delicious gourmet meals to the family game and movie room! The hikes right from the resort were just amazing. We saw Moose and bears from our picture window every day and when they were not super close there was binoculars right there to get close ups. Curtis was awesome at scheduling great activities for us from the Glacier Bay cruise where we saw 8 grizzly bears, 3 moose, breaching Orca female and her baby,sea otters,bald eagles and lots of puffins. Also the kayaking with the whales and whale watching boat were just great too. After everyday of awesome activities we would jump in the Jacuzzi that overlooked the meadow. All the staff was so great but our favorite was Carly she was such a bundle of happiness and always so helpful. We highly recommend staying here!

My trip to Alaska staying here was quite possible the most amazing trip of my life. The fishing was AMAZING. I limited out each day catching large Silver Salmon and hauled in a 206 lb Halibut. I saw 2 black bears, and one HUGE brown bear. The brown bear was literally about 50 yards from me for about 45 min. while I fished a river. Kayaking the rivers and glacier was so cool.The lodge is clean and rustic. The staff was tremendous. Jon, the chef made amazing breakfast and dinner meals each day with awesome desserts. I ate so much and then watched movies at night in the rec room theater, though I wasn't able to beat my friend Dave at ping-pong.You'll really love your stay here!

After 20 years of working without a vacation, this was our retirement vacation of all time! We chose Glacier Bay Country Inn because it just felt right for what my wife and I wanted. There is no way we could have done better! My wife loves bears and she saw 17 bears in 4 days out our bedroom and dining room windows. The guides for the fishing were spectacular! The fishing was better than I have ever dreamed about! Even if I wanted to, I could not come up with anything that was less than perfect about this place. Even all the kitchen and other help were absolutely the best. I WILL BE BACK THERE AGAIN!

Four of us stayed three nights at GBCI. Two nights before an 8 day kayak trip, and one night when we returned. The staff went above and beyond in taking care of us and delivering us to where we needed to be. They were unfailingly kind, cheerful and generous with their time. And the food was the best I've had--their chef, John, is amazing. Each night a choice of meat or seafood. We chose seafood each meal and loved the salmon cakes, Dungeness Crab, and shrimp scampi. Wish we'd been there for the halibut! The rooms were excellent, beds comfortable, space welcoming.

This was my 4th fishing trip to the Glacier Bay area and my first time staying at the Glacier Bay Country Inn. While my previous trips to other fishing lodges were nice, NOTHING can compare to my stay at the GBCI! Here are 5 reasons why:1- The Accommodations- The lodge and the grounds are beautiful. We slept in a stand alone cabin located just off the main lodge. The rooms were extremely comfortable and very private. The game room and theater were perfect to come back to after a long day. We also enjoyed the hot tub and sitting around the outdoor fire pit.2- The Staff- These are some of the most friendly and helpful people you'll ever meet.3- The Fishing- This was BY FAR the best fishing in Alaska I've ever experienced. We caught a 300+ lb halibut and a ton of silver salmon. The fishing holes were very accessible and the scenery while reeling in the fish can't be beat. In all my four trips to AK, this was the BEST fishing I've had.4- The Food- By far some of the best meals I've ever had. Everything is made from scratch and the donuts and bread are amazing!5- The Knowledge- In addition to fishing, the staff knows everything there is to do in the area. They directed us to a really neat hike to see waterfalls and a plane wreck site. They know about kayaking, site seeing, wildlife watching, etc.There's no question, all of my return trips to this area will be at the Glacier Bay Country Inn!

We were lucky enough to get a cabin here and boy it didn't disappoint. Curtis and his staff are the most awesome host that we encountered anywhere in Alaska.....may be anywhere in the world that we have been. Chef John put an incredible meal down for us and did it again foe breakfast.....seriously homemade donuts. Curtis set everything up foe us from rides to tours to anything that uou will want or need. The lodge has a hot tub, covered fire pit, game room with video games, basketball games, ping pong, pool, and a crazy awesome movie room, and bicycles to ride as much as you want., the lodge even supplies the guests with rubber boots and waders.....its crazy. The town is situated to where you cannot drive to it.....you must fly or ride the ferry that runs twice a week and it has WIFI. Curtis will schedule fishing trips, whale watching tours, Glacier Bay tours, you name it and he will make it happen. The rooms are super clean and the fridge is stocked with drinks for you to enjoy. Honestly I can't give a better recommendation that to say......go and stay here, but you might have to book a year in advance.

What an experience! The trip of a lifetime. My wife and I went for our 25th wedding anniversary last summer and the whole experience was fantastic. Fishing on the open waters, kayaking around the bay, and a tour of the glaciers were but a few of the highlights. I would recommend staying at the Glacier Bay Country Inn. They treat you like family. We are looking forward to returning to Glacier Bay Country Inn with the entire family this summer so that they can experience the wonders of Alaska for themselves.

If you are looking for the best Alaskan fishing lodge combined with an amazing alaskan fishing experience, this is definitely the place to go.The GBCI is located in Gustavus and is easily accessible by plane from Juneau's Airport. We were transported privately to the lodge from Gustavus Airport in large well-kept vans. Our cabin (separated from the main lodge by about 75 yards) was spacious, warm, and very clean. The game room was massive with a pool table, ping-pong table, Arcade games, basketball, hot tub, and a very impressive theater room that had about 15-20 reclining leather seats. The catered meals are homemade by an top-notch Chef this may be my favorite part of the lodge. I devoured the food! The breakfast, lunch bag, and dinner were all phenomenal. You will never feel hungry staying here.Every detail of our trip was amazing thanks to the staff at GBCI. The fishing in the nearby rivers and Glacier Bay National Park is top notch. We spent 4 days fishing with our captain and we "limited" each day with Salmon and Halibut. The captain knew the best fishing locations and the staff were extremely helpful. Our last day we pulled in a 330 lb. halibut from the bottom of the ocean, which topped off the perfect vacation. I will never stay at another fishing lodge in Alaska, this is the place to be and the best part is my freezer at home is full of fish!

The BEST fishing trip I've ever had. We came here to find good fishing. These guys know where to go. We fished for salmon for two days and halibut for one day. We limited each day! Our second freezer is full of fish right now! The cherry on top was the comfortable lodge where we slept great, the TOP restaurant in Gustavus, and the recreation room for after dinner.

This place is truly awesome! The staff was amazing. Curtis was so much help before we arrived. He was prompt to answer any questions we had and delivered on everything promised. We all caught halibut, we had an amazing glacier tour and saw whales on our adventure. The only problem we had was we didn't book an extra week. I want to come back and do some more halibut fishing. Had a blast, thank you for the amazing experience.

I have always dreamed of visiting Alaska and finally had the chance to do so in late August. Finding the Glacier Bay Country Inn was heaven sent! After scouring every option and finally deciding to make this place the top of my list I could not have been more pleased once I finally arrived. Everything from the private cabin, game room, theatre, hot tub, fishing trips, wildlife and Yes even a chef..was UNREAL! The staff was amazing in every way as they assisted us with anything we needed. The owners definitely aim to please and have worked hard to make this place one of the best and most serene places in Alaska! They literally have everything you will need to enjoy AK. The Inn is perfect for couples looking for a quiet yet exhilarating experience in AK or even a group of "guys" looking for the best Salmon or Halibut fishing in AK. This is the place! From my first day, sitting next to the fire under the Ramada, to clear blue skies in Glacier Bay, this trip was everything I hoped for. We saw floating chunks of ice while kayaking to a glacier, whales, otters, sea lions, puffin, and of course bear. The fishing was better than anything I have experienced. The staff, lodge, food, recreation room, and movie theatre secured my loyalty for a return trip. We had some days of rain, but after reading Glacier Bay Country Inn’s website, I came prepared and was undeterred.

I actually lived in Alaska as a kid and have always wanted to go back. I was finally able to do that this September and my trip was even better than I had hoped. I decided to go to Glacier Bay. Very good decision! The Glacier Bay Country Inn was the perfect place to lodge. Great food. Awesome people. Sincere service. Clean rooms. And all of the stuff I forgot to bring to Alaska that I needed to enjoy my stay!

What an unique place. Loved the quiet cabins. But the food was the BEST. We were always surprised by how many different wild animals came around for viewing. Loved watching the bears eat tiny wild strawberries with their huge paws. Plus saw a huge porcupine as well as deer.

How can I even begin to do justice by writing a review of this place? Here goes: Stay here and everything you ever wished in an Alaskan trip will come true. This place has it all. Amazing cabins and rooms, food to overeat and die for and some of the most breathtaking views you will ever see. You will also see so much amazing wildlife. I have seen brown bears, moose, wolves and bald eagles just from my view at the dinner table here. I am not kidding you, this place is magical. If you are planning a fishing or hunting trip to Glacier Bay or Gustavus Alaska THIS IS THE ONLY PLACE YOU SHOULD CONSIDER STAYING my friends.

I had the opportunity to stay here this last week and it was awesome. The staff is more than helpful and the food was great. Every meal was delicious and the portions were large. Moose came through the lodge every night and we saw all types of wildlife in and around the town. Very close to the glacier bay park too.
