Wonderful staff. Comfortable rooms. Love that there’s a real mini fridge (with freezer) and a microwave. I was in a group of 12 and all of us agreed the shower heads could use some updating, but the water was HOT so that’s really the important thing. They little shop in the lobby is totally outstanding for tiny souvenirs and snacks and even some ‘real’ food items that can be microwaved. It was extremely convenient especially considering how early most of the dining options close. Thanks for a wonderful stay!

Can't help the location. Staff is great. Clean and cozy. Although it's silly how they mandate a two day service of your room yet they have a "save the planet" placard that asks you to reuse towels. When you only have two towels available, it kind of defeats the purpose. I feel like four days would be more reasonable. Silly commanders.Walkability: Everything is walking distance. However it will be cold and theres a high probability your destination may be closed.

If you have to go to Eielson, this is the place to stay. The rooms are a little outdated and certain ratio of handicap to standard rooms seem lopsided. The water pressure in my room was really poor as well. The customer service was great and room cleanliness was good. Heater was temperamental and I had the window open and fans going to cool it. Will definitely stay again.

We know why you are staying here, so this is the what to expect. The staff at the front desk is helpful and they have a great variety of well priced food and beverage items available in the little store. If you want alcoholic beverages, they have them too. There are board games and movies downstairs you can use in your room. It is walking distance to most buildings you need and across the street from the DFAC. Coffee downstairs is always hot and the rooms are comfortable enough.Eielson doesn't clean the parking lots of ice, so yes during the winter the parking lot can become an adventure when the thaw begins. The rooms have no control over a/c. I left my window open the whole stay and it only kept it at about 71 instead of 80 when I arrived. Housekeeping does not care if you tell them no thank you, they are coming in. Many of the cable channels were out because of some network dispute.

I would have rather slept outside with a wobbie.Sheets and pillows didn't smell fresh at all and found some hair that wasn't mine in the sheets. I didn't even have enough time or energy to complain because I spent my entire day flying and working upon arrival. Sleeping on is dirty bed is how my day ended and the only resolution you'll get is a sorry after you move your stuff to a different room or wait in a lobby while they spot clean your room dealing with Air Force Inns.It also the year 2022 and the WIFI situation is ridiculous. Motel 6 has a better network infrastructure. Whoever work for the lodging IT team needs to get infrastructure under control or resign. Source the right equipment and route it correctly. The staff overall was friendly and helpful and that is the only redeeming quality of this place.

It's basic for sure, but at the end of the day it is military lodging. However, it was clean, they provided a wireless router to take and plug into my room, and the staff was super friendly. I went in winter and the room was wildly warmer than it needed to be and I could never get it to cool down to a comfortable temp. Good spot if you have to walk around base though, and it's great that there's a place to grab grub right across the parking lot.

Let me caveat, the staff was professional and curteous. My humble thanks. There is no such thing as wifi there. The rooms are obviously converted old barracks, therefore, really small. The parking lot, roads, and sidewalks are inadequately plowed so be careful driving and walking. Or just don't stay here.

I had the privilege of participating in the Exercise Arctic Edge 2022 at Eielson Air Force Base with my unit. During this exercise, I stayed at the Gold Rush Inn. I was here from a period spanning from 26 February to 19 March. My job as a Platoon Leader and obligations participating in the exercise left me with a hectic schedule where I spent most of my day out in the field but would come back in the evening to rest in the hotel room. Due to the uniform requirements relying on the daily weather changes, I laid all my cold weather gear out on the floor for easy access so I could quickly put on the correct uniform each day and fulfill my obligations for the day. Towards the end of the exercise, I received a visit from a female manager to conduct a “room inspection.” Had it been a real room inspection, she would have noticed that the toilet did not work (when flushed you have to open up the tank and yank the flusher to get the foam piece to fit back over the hole since one side detached, otherwise water will continuously flow and the room will start to smell like a toilet), that the shower constantly leaked, and that the wifi was extremely unreliable. Instead, I got berated by this manager and called dirty for having clutter in my room. I understand that it may not be the most visually appealing, but this problem could’ve easily been solved if I had been left a courtesy note informing me to tidy up my uniform arrangements on the floor. Instead I was left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome at the Gold Rush Inn and Air Force Inns in general. This is disappointing because up until this point, I really enjoyed my stay at the Gold Rush Inn. In redeeming qualities, it is a very nice inn, a very relaxing environment, and the items in the convenience shop are very fairly priced. However, after this customer-hostile incident, any sense of relaxation and satisfaction I had quickly disappeared and I couldn’t wait to check out.

Spent 28 nights in this hotel and I was not disappointed. The rooms were nice and the staff were just the same.I do have a few minor complaints.Housekeeping never kept a consistent schedule. Sometimes they came knocking at 1030 and other times they were knocking at 4pm. And it was just everywhere between that timeframe.Since I stayed during the spring and summer months, it got pretty warm in the room at times. It did help that the windows open and the room had a tower fan at your disposal, but still, that wasn't enough at times.Besides all of that, it was an overall nice accommodation.

Good staff and service, very clean. Beds are small and uncomfortable, rooms do not include WiFi. If your staying space A I would look elsewhere, the walls are thin and you can hear passing cars/neighbors talking/and toilets flushing/showers running. Not the worst AF hotel but far from the best the sink, shower, and toilet are the right height for very vertically challenged people.

I had an issue with clean water during my stay. The water from the bathroom sink, tub and toilet were all brown even after letting it run and turning the faucet off. I called the front desk and requested maintenance as I had places to be. Almost 12 hours later I called to follow up on the maintenance, only to find out that nobody had annotated it or passed the information to their oncoming shift. I requested another room or somewhere to use a full restroom but there was nowhere else to accomodate me, according to the front desk, so I'd just have to wait for maintenance to arrive the next day despite me working a night shift.

Rude and very poor mannered housekeeping. They walk in while I'm sleeping even when I have the do not disturb on my door. Literally walk in my room while I'm asleep. They have Wi-Fi that seems to have come out of a cereal box, they have poor cable connection. Just overall sad to see this is how military people are treated at a MILITARY hotel. Really shows you how much they expect of their troops but how little they expect of their businesses. I will never recommend this hotel to anyone and will never be staying here again. Add to the fact of how run down the building is and how many maintenance issues there are. I wonder how much they paid people for some of the 4 or 5 star reviews 😂

Let’s be honest, you are not staying here because you want to. The air force told you to stay here so here you are.The good:-Staff is very friendly and always has a smile on their face-coffee is available in the lobby 24/7-they have a 24/7 shop to buy drinks/food/swag-beds are pretty comfyThe bad:-No wifi in rooms. Wired connection only.-Room service is not great, multiple times no cleaned room or partially cleaned room (empty trash but no made bed)-in the summertime be ready to be miserable, no AC. Had to buy a box fan out of pocket to put in the window to get the room down to 76. If you don’t get one be prepared to have an 80+ degree room-worst hotel in room coffee ever had-toiletries replaced at random, see room service note-Thin walls-black out curtains do not totally black out, lots of light still in room

Pretty average base lodging. Nothing wrong with it. They have food, snacks, and drinks downstairs available 24/7. My honest only complaint is that in the year 2019, they still do not have wifi for every room. You have to go to the front desk and hope they have a router available. If they don't, you're out of luck for wifi unless you want to hang out in the lobby. The base gym has WiFi, but the hotel doesn't. It's weird

If only I could give this place 0 stars I would. They have no respect for privacy. On the first incident I was using the restroom when room service came in. As I was using the restroom the guy repeatedly tried to enter the bathroom to clean it. After his several attempts I finally got the point across I wanted him to leave immediately. The second incident I was sleeping after a long night at work. The man came in and started to move my things and woke me up in the process. As I told him to leave he ignored me completely and continued to do his thing. After this I called the front desk and they brushed me off completely. Along with brushing it off they called our squadron commander and made a complaint that I was being unreasonable. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever encountered. What makes it worse I never received an apology from the hotel. I’m sure if it was a high ranking individuals wife and kids that this happened to, the outcome would’ve been completely different and taken more serious.

This place is by far the worst “hotel room” if you can call it that, that I have ever stayed in, in my 16 years of going TDY for the Air Force and I’ve stayed in some pretty bad places. Some how its always 100 degrees in my room even if it’s 50 outside and I have my window open. Please invest in a window A/C unit. The room is uncomfortably small especially when they make you bunk up with someone and then charge you both full rate😳. The shower has one setting which is full speed take your skin off. Did I mention it’s 2021 and this place can’t figure out how to have WIFI. If you have a choice DO NOT STAY HERE!!!

Good employees and housekeepers. Cleaning schedule was on time and never late. Pet friendly space gave us a lot of room but didn’t clean thoroughly. Pet hair from other animals and dried pee was found during the initial move in. We had a garage, kennel and room for 3 kids with private laundry.

Nice lobby, nice rooms, friendly staff. They have a coffee bar and a small shoppette in the lobby. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The bathroom was a little cramped, but overall good.

This place is probably fine most of the year, but prepare for roommates in the summer. Those roommates are mosquitos. And they are sweating too. Fan in the window is the best AC you’ll get.

Kind housekeeping crew, clean rooms for the most part, front desk employees are very helpful, but it didn't make any sense to have someone under the age of 21 working the front desk alone in the evening. I was a little bumbed when I had to go out in the freezing cold to the shoppett to buy a few beers because nobody was available to sell them to me one evening at the lodging front desk.

A very nice room at an affordable price. The rates go up in the summer versus the winter, but that is just due to the demand. The only downside is you are a fair bit away from Fairbanks. Maybe a 30-35 minute drive but taxi/Uber isn’t an affordable option; you will have to rent a car. But if you don’t mind doing that it’s one of the better places to stay in the interior of Alaska for a reasonable rate. And see if you can get one of the TLF houses...they’re amazing and don’t cost you any extra.

No wifi in the rooms. You must bring your own router but nobody tells you that... Otherwise buy a $160 non-refundable router from the bx. The tvs are unviewable with whatever cable service they are using. The staff is very polite and the lobby shoppette is cool.

Staff at front desk is very nice. Room was fairly clean. Sheets were torn like they were too small for the bed and forced on, and had faint stains, but smelled clean. Room came with refrigerator and microwave.

Standard Air Force lodging. Fine during winter, but mosquitoes often end up in your room during the summer. BRING YOUR OWN WIFI ROUTER!! The rooms don't have wifi, and the front desk only has a limited amount of routers.
