Sleepy Dog is the long standing local coffee shop for Eagle River! They were the first coffee shop here in Eagle River 30 years ago!The atmosphere is great for working or relaxing & the temperature is great as well. The staff was very nice and helpful!The coffee was good, I’d say 4/5 but sometimes it’s great to find a place to escape to and get work done and this is a place for exactly that.

Open for 29 years this coffee spot won’t disappoint. There is always laughter, regardless of if you choose the drive-thru or stop in to relax. Sheryl, who’s been working here since they opened and Bella both welcomed me (and everyone else who walked in) with conversion and big smiles. They are clearly happy to help their customers. The coffee is always great too! They have soups, pastries and other treats to stave off hunger and there is ample seating so you will find a place to hunker down for awhile if that is what your looking for. Eagle River is very lucky to have so many top notch coffee shops...Sleepy Dog is definitely among the best.

Best and most relaxed place to be in Eagle River! They roast their own coffee so it’s always fresh and delicious. The baristas are great and always friendly, and it’s much more quiet than other coffee shops in town. Good place to study or to meet up and chat.

Great coffee and their cold brew coffee is especially good. It's a little dated but the staff is friendly and makes good coffee.So far it is never burnt or unmixed with the syrup sitting on top of the cream, which always makes me furious when the coffee cost so much. I like that there is a drive thru and a cafe depending on what you prefer.

Nice little cozy coffee shop filled with coffee, house crafted drink and pastries. Place is bigger than expected, they also have a backroom with more seating. Prices are decent and the service is great.

I love this coffee shop! Unfortunately, we are only here until tomorrow morning, otherwise I'd keep trying all the flavors they have! The baristas are always super friendly and social and the price is very agreeable! The mocha and ham and cheese croissant I got the other day was good, but then I saw their specialty drinks! So today I ordered a Hawaiian Mac nut Mocha and a Turtle caramel praline mocha and both were SO good, I had to give one to my husband though lolParking: This place is not busy at least when we went in the mornings, so there's typically plenty of parking.

This quickly became our go-to place for the best coffee here in Anchorage, Alaska. Cappuccino was always hot, fresh and tasty! Would definitely recommend.We purchased some fresh coffee beans from The Sleepy Dog cafe and we just got around to finally grinding them up. The beans were still so fresh so the coffee was amazing. Definitely buy a few bags to bring home. We’re looking into ordering more to be shipped to us. Definitely worth it!!!

I’d give 5 for weekends. But mornings before 9 is my usual if I can make it by. Honestly I don’t stop by just because I know how long it’s going to take. The ladies who are there (sometimes 1 other times 2) are friendly is not stressing. Extremely forgetful no matter how you say it, I even had someone tell me they can remember more than one thing, just to have forgotten part of my order. Never rude, but the time is just too long for before work. I absolutely love this company since I was a kid and their coffee is just amazing but sheesh, the wait and forgetfulness just needs assistance! Maybe as many as afternoon in the AM! I hate having to grab Starbucks or shop on way in to anchorage but they are faster and don’t forget. This review is just to be helpful & address mornings for this past spring-fall.

Fantastic local cafe. This is our favorite venue for a brew, sip, and nibble in Eagle River with quite reasonable prices (especially for Alaska). The staff is extremely friendly and the treats make us smile. This is one of the few places in town that our toddler enjoys sitting and being conversant and quiet (versus normal toddler antics). Five stars and growing. I cannot wait to see and enjoy the cafe come summer time and sit outside.

I was in Anchorage for a work trip, and this place was recommended through word of mouth. A few of us went after work (night shifters). I forgot what coffee I had, but we also got a few of the breakfast items. It was amazing! The cinnamon rolls are HUGE and delicious. Easily give it 10 stars. The staff was very friendly also!

Love this coffee shop! It was upsetting to see that it was effected by the earthquake, however, they quickly recovered and I’m sure Eagle River is thankful. The service is great and they have so many options. If you really love their coffee (my family does) you can buy it in bags as well. Only issue they don’t allow sleepy dogs in their cafe. What’s up with that?! Haha just kidding.
