Great charter! Like the charter you read about! Carl was fantastic, knowledgeable, experienced and extremely professional! A class act. We were camped at the Russian River, picked up at 0300…and on the Kenai near Soldotna by 0430…drove up river to be at the mouth of Skilak lake just in time to drop our lines. Fight was on! We had 9 gorgeous Reds in the locker by 0700! Great action. Toured the river, filleted the fish and ended the day doing a little fly fishing for rainbows! Excellent value! Can’t say enough great things about Troutfitters! Would definitely use them next year when we go back!

We had one of the most amazing days on the Kenai. Gorgeous weather, phenomenal guide (Cameron), and landed gorgeous fish on dries and nymphs all day long. Alaska is such a special place and would highly recommend making the trip and fishing with Alaska Troutfitters! We plan to come back next year.

10/10 would recommend Alaska Troutfitters as your guide of choice for the Kenai River.My wife and I were honeymooning throughout the Kenai Peninsula and we elected to do a guided boat tour through Alaska Troutfitters. We spent 8 hours total on the river. Our guide Tom was personable, professional, and had amazing knowledge of the river. My wife had never fly fished before and it had been 8-9 years since I last had. Tom was an excellent teacher and guide the entire day. I can’t reiterate enough how much of a professional and excellent guide Tom was, it truly made the experience for us.We will truly never forget the views. Throughout the day, we caught around 10-12 rainbow trout and dolleys, fishing from the bank of the river and from the boat. Alaska Troutfitters provided top of the line Simms fishing gear to assist us throughout the day.BLUF: This should be your go-to outfitter for fly fishing in/around Cooper Landing. It will truly be the experience of a lifetime.

We had a great experience with the accomodations and the guide service at AK Troutfitters. Our cabin was clean, roomy, beautifully decorated and right on the Kenai River.We fished for trout and dolly varden and had a wonderful day on the water. Our guide knew where to fish and had a friendly, fun-loving demeanor.

Holly and I have been fishing with Troutfitters for over 10 years now. Everyone of are trips have been extraordinary, from the guides to the accommodations, catching our largest rainbows and Dollies, and seeing grizzly bears fishing on the bank of the river.

My son and I originally scheduled a walk in trip but it was changed to float trip. It was a great trip and we both caught fish on the 4 hour trip. We also stayed in the Trout House for 2 nights. It was a memorable trip on our first trip to Alaska. Thank you AT! I highly recommend this outfitter.

My brother and I spent 3 days with this lodge and had the trip of a lifetime. All of the guides were fantastic, helpful in all ways, and put us onto a lot of fish. The view from the dock below the bears den is incredible. The Kenai is such a special place and I'm happy to have spent this trip of a with Troutfitters.A special thanks to guide Matt who put us onto some epic rainbow fishing in the Russian River. If you are the hiking type of fly fisherman, book a trip with Matt. He is incredibly knowledgeable and a joy to spend time with. He will put you onto fish.Thanks again Troutfitters. AT are experts at taking us fly fishing rookies and advanced fisherman. I am a fly fishing moron, and I went with my buddy who is advanced level, and we both had a ball and caught fish all day, thanks to Al the guide. He was masterful at handling us and setting us up for success. My buddy caught a 24 incher in less than an hour. Highly recommend

Did a hike-in to the Russian River with Asa, had a blast! Since I am just finished with 6 months of chemo, I had some concerns about a 2 1/2 mile hike each way and fishing all day, but Asa was very gracious and adjusted his pace to suit mine. Excellent day! a few days later my wife, 16 year old granddaughter and I did a scenic float trip and had another excellent time. Thanks also to Marcy who patiently answered all my questions and set up two short notice trips. Thanks to all at Troutfitters!

Our guide Cameron put us on the fish even in some spotty conditions. If you want some firey rainbows that pull like a freight train in the Kenai this is the place to go. We even saw a couple bears hanging around which was a huge plus.

Cameron Muse was awesome yesterday (8/23/22). Despite the high water, he found some great fish in the upper Kenai. He also took time to teach us about the river and its fish. It was fun all day - a five star experience for sure!

One of the best times I’ve ever had. Definitely the best fishing I’ve ever done! Our guide was very friendly, very knowledgeable, didn’t waste any time, and was a genuine pleasure for my dad and me to fish with. Pilot was knowledgeable and entertaining as well! Scenery was beautiful, water was perfect… it couldn’t have gone any better!!! Will definitely book again.

Wow!! My guides, Asa and Heath, were amazing! I never felt like anyone was looking at a watch, full of Alaska information and great guys! I went solo (single woman) and felt safe and welcome at AK Troutfitters Cooper and another employee in flyshop were so nice and Marcy with her texts gave me all the info I needed Clean and safe and gorgeous location! Would highly recommend! And the fishing was great! Trout, dollys and artic grayling!

This place is great. Had an awesome day on the river, and caught a lot of great fish. The guides take care of everything, so even if you've never fly fished before, it's not a problem. They will customize it to your level. Can't wait to go back!

My guide was a 20 year old local(Cooper aka ‘lil rabbit’) and you might wonder if you need a more seasoned fellow. I’m sending this review to reassure you that if you’re paired with this young man you are in exceptionally good hands. I’m a very experienced angler, but I learned lots from Coop, I was put on spots where the fish were waiting, was treated to highly technical and challenging fishing as I requested, was confident he could have caught me fish if I were less experienced, and he held great composure through an unexpected and intense encounter with one of Alaska’s true locals. Billy knows what he’s doing, his shop is lovely, and he runs a great shop and crew. I highly recommend.

Cooper, our guide, did a really nice job helping my grandson and son-in-law learn how to fly fish for some big trout.In addition, Marcy and the whole staff at the retail store were very friendly and helpful.Can’t say enough good things about these guides. I went on two trips this past summer, one in May and one in September. Both trips were fantastic. We floated the upper river and had a fantastic time. Out guides were knowledgeable, helpful and pretty much just all around awesome. They had all the gear so we didn't need to worry about packing anything but lunch, snacks and sunscreen. I highly recommend packing sunscreen! The second time we also used the lodgings there and they were clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed that ours had a little kitchen as we traveled wonky hours and that way we could fend for ourselves. They were also great about recommending local places to eat before we headed back to Anchorage. As an Alaskan I fully recommend this charter and the fly shop.

It had been 10+ years since I had been fishing on the Kenai, but my first call when I started planning the 2021 trip was to Troutfitters, since they had always been my go to outfitters on my prior trips.The owners and staff are all top notch, as are their lodging facilities. There were 7 of us, and they took care of all our arrangements. If you want a memorable trip - give them a call. They know the rivers, and they know how to catch fish. You won't be disappointed.

My husband and I spent our honeymoon at Alaska Troutfitters and it was an amazing trip! They were very accommodating and the eagles nest was cozy and comfortable. He accommodated my son from a safety and fishing perspective. He put us on fish almost immediately and taught us his fly fishing technique. I give my highest recommendation and will be back myself.
