Great local store. Has a lot of Costco items. Has a good variety for most part. Some things are a little more money than what you would pay in Wasilla. However the gas expenditure going 17 miles into Wasilla makes negates the extra cost.

Honestly this place is mid.Have been doing my shopping since we moved out to big lake (around may) Here’s some things I can tell you. Their younger employees are nicer and more willing to help. The older cashier/ manager at night is not happy. On Tuesday she refused to do a return on an exchange because I didn’t a receipt. Was pretty firm and rude about it until I said I had the card I paid with. Her attitude changed and she said we are just so short staffed I just can’t, come back tomorrow morning for stuff like this. Her whole demeanor was like “oh gosh how can you be asking this of me!” She’s also never had a positive thing to say, I actually avoid her line to be completely honest because of this attitude. I had to still buy the hose and she was nowhere to be found and the cashier gave me a huge smile returning to the store as if a I know, you know ,we know. It was just a flat out lazy excuse.Frustrating!Anyways,The stores prices are HIGH. To the point I make sure to go to Costco and have a reference list on which items are worth the convenience and which are not. There’s no reason to have a 5-10$ markup..I understand you get everything from Costco, but why not just let them open one and we don’t have to deal with the markup. (Didn’t your contract with Costco just end?)The one thing I do love and wish they’d push more are the local items, like pasta, whole milk and coffee are from around Alaska.. that’s the only reason I keep coming back.

I love Three Bears. I don't normally goto the Big Lake location but I happen to be in the area. I enjoy buying in bulk as most of the time it saves me in time, gas, and money from having to run to other stores and buying the same thing but alot smaller. Also they carry alot of other things you can only find at Three Bears or Costco. They also have the best produce and meat department and sporting goods out here in the valley so I have been known to spend more time at the store then any other grocery store. Also its locally owned and operated which is super important to buy local then these GIANT retail corporations. And you can get Gas at most locations.

Employees are very nice and helpful. I use a riding cart and there are a couple of places it is hard for me to get around. Wish you carried the small cans of real sugar Pepsi. Also wish you were a bigger store and had more dry goods. I am so glad for Ace they have a good selection.

Prices are high, like a convenience store with a much better selection of groceries. Easy access. It is much closer to the community of Big Lake than the traditional grocery store. Great for small grocery purchases.

Great selection and very clean store. Our checker was very friendly. The aisles are a bit narrow and it was a little hard to steer the large carts throughout the store, especially with all my munchkins in tow. But seriously, they had a ton of items/variety I don't usually see in a Three Bears Alaska.

Friendly and helpful staff. Located on the main street in Big lake. Liquor store is in the shell gas station in the same parking lot. No pharmacy, but ACE hardware is attached to the same building. Matanuska valley credit union is located inside and the ATM is outside.

Three bears big lake is great. Friendly, accommodating and reasonable. 3bears even has discounted gasoline, who doesn't want that. It's easy to stack up discounts, which Noone else will let you do, stacking rewards. Boy o boy, idk who can compare to this. 3bears Rocks

This is my local store. I live within a mile of Three Bears. I will say they are not cheap.They are close, convenient, summer is close so they are open longer, and their employees are very friendly for the most part. The store is clean, and they have a decent setup going for our town. The ding in the star rating is due to the markup they place on so many of their items. I've seen it easily hit 4 to 5x or more expensive than Wasilla or Anchorage stores. So while the store fits the needs of the town, it is also taking advantage of them financially in my opinion.

Friendly employees, well stocked and clean. The only complaint that I would have is the fact that they permanently kicked my husband off property for Life due to the fact he was with somebody else that was stealing from the store he was not. He had approximately $500 in cash in his hand in the picture that they use identify him. Other than that three bears in Big Lake Alaska is an excellent store.

I showed up after the store closed , and they let me buy dog food because they're were some dogs that had been neglected. As a community, we NEED caring people like the ones you will find right here at Three-bears in Big lake . It is located at Big Lake rd. and Hollywood.. I hope you all have a wonderful experience like me.Thanx for reading

Three bears in biglake great location, love the fact that they are pretty much everywhere. Not a wide variety of selections compared to the other three bears stores but still very convenient. The employees were helpful, friendly and quick to help & ring me up. Wasnt too thrilled that I had to go & get a key for the bathroom as I was in quiet a hurry. Lol. But then again, I'm sure they have their reasons for that.

I think it's great with room for improvement .Prices are higher than Pittman---why?Meat is incredibly high, no need to be nearly that high.Another poster said and I agree--more cashiers. Stockers can cashier .Your deli is great, bread has been stale..and bakery items are scarce.Overall glad you came in, coulda left convenience store behind.

Its a family friendly store. I think they need some different items and maybe little lower prices...revise as of November 2022...I used to like going into the Big Lake Three Bears. But as time and Covid have come through I have seen that particular store go down hill. FIRST their prices have sky rocketed. Second, they have a MAJOR problem with their parking lot!!! I MEAN, REALLY?? THERE ARE PAINTED LINES FOR A REASON!!! Apparently it's a park wherever you feel like it zone. SO MUCH FOR HANDICAP PARKING. A person can't even get into the parking lot due to the incompetence if management being able to police their parking lot. He'll, if that place were to catch on fire or have some major emergency, the fire department and emt wouldn't be able to get to you!!! I will no longer shop that store. It's very disrespectful to our people that NEED that parking and very upsetting that no one has addressed the situation. On top of that I believe that Three Bears as a whole, has used this covid issue to jack up prices as far as they can and because they are becoming a monopoly , it's making it almost impossible to get a variety or the ability to find better prices in other stores. SO I WILL NO LONGER SHOP THE BIG LAKE THREE BEARS. AND IF AT ALL POSSIBLE I WILL SHOP FRED MEYERS OR SAFEWAY BEFORE I GO GET JACKED BY THE PRICES OF OUR " FAMILY" OWNED THREE BEARS.
