After many grooming experiences, my dog Clark has chosen Primping Pooches. He is a Tibetan terrier and has a spa day about every 6 weeks. He loves the groomers and willingly goes in for his grooming appointment. I am never disappointed with his hair cut and especially like that heavily scented products are not used. This is a small shop and they do a really nice job. Most important to me is that my dog is happy.

When our long time dog groomer retired quite a few years ago, we were lucky to have found Primping Pooches for our two elderly terriers. (One of them died 3 years ago.) The groomers do an awesome job and are sensitive to aging dogs’ needs. We will continue to bring our dog here and recommend to others.

We brought our lovely old Birdie to be groomed and pampered. A long-haired kitty, she needed extra help with her fur. Ears, nails, sanitary shave, and coat were just beautiful. Groomer has the knack. Facility is clean and calm. Highly recommend for cats, even older ones. Will go back

Rebecca and Will are THE best groomers! They always take such good care of my dog and make him look amazing! They really understand these little animals and are so compassionate with them. I've never had a bad experience in their salon. They are worth every penny I pay and them and then some!

We have been patrons at Primping Pooches & Cats for six years and we would not dream of taking our cat anywhere else.The owner is a lovely lady named Rebecca and she is a highly trained professional groomer who oozes gentleness and kindness. She has a palpable love for animals and she takes the running of her business and the grooming of her clients seriously. When our beloved Himalayan cat passed away in 2016, Rebecca thoughtfully took the time to send us a sympathy card. This is the type of groomer you are dealing with at Primping Pooches & Cats! We currently have a four year old Persian cat who is combed and bathed at home, but still visits Rebecca once a month to have his nails clipped and his fur sculpted. There is an absolute art to grooming a long hair cat and we are pleased to write that Rebecca is a master. Her salon is clean, organized and a real gem in Anchorage.

I was a nervous wreck before bringing in my Big Kitty in for a bath & lions cut. They handled him so professionally and did such a fantastic job I wish I could share a photo! (The other dogs getting groomed that day also looked great!) I completely trust them!

I brought my cat here today for grooming, and told the lady out front that she’d never been groomed before. She said they’d see how it goes and call me if there was a problem, and would see how my cat tolerated it. I received a text 2 hours after my appointment time stating that they needed different shot records than what I had given them before they could work on her - which means she was in her cage just stressing out needlessly for 2 hours? Then 30 minutes after that, I received a text that my cat was too aggressive for them to groom. I texted back that I was sorry, and that I had wondered if that would happen as she’s never been groomed before and tends to get pointy with my kids. That is where the person texting me became harsh, said that I KNEW that I had a difficult cat, and that I knowingly put the staff and my pet in danger, so they would have to keep my $50 deposit as compensation since this could have been avoided by drugging my apparently aggressive cat ahead of time. It was so harsh that I actually started crying! It wasn’t until later that I realized they jumped on the accusation that I knowingly sent in an aggressive cat so that they could keep the deposit, after my cat apparently sat untouched in their salon for HOURS. I wish I could post a video of my kitty, btw. She’s been lying on me purring all evening. Guess they’re not the experts they claim to be? I refuse to believe that my kitty is the first one to not want strangers to shave it after sitting in a cage for several hours, and I only attempted to go here as their website was so convincing about being cat professionals. I’d give zero stars if I could since all they did was make me cry and take $50.

I have a rather large, mostly white/blue merle aussie. I thought I kept him fairly well brushed but after a grooming session he GLEEMED - soft wavy hair and no longer is shedding hair. He looks fabulous and the long hair trimmed from his feet (long hair that collected ice clods). His feet look wonderful - and nails trimmed. He was also quiet and clearly not stressed at all by the day spent at the spa. I will continue to get him groomed here!

I took my cat in to get him buzzed, and he came home with two cuts on his back that I didn't notice till he was out of his carrier the cuts were obviously where they snagged the skin . I was not notified of the injuries at all. We will never use them again, that's unproffesional and bad for business. The only thing that kept me from going down there and yelling at them was my wife they should thank her.

It is a wonderful pet grooming shop. I reccomnd the groomers very highly. I have an old dog and they treat him wonderfully.
