Upon entering PetSmart in Anchorage, I was immediately struck by the cleanliness of the store. It's apparent that the staff is diligent in maintaining a hygienic environment for all the animals. The sight of empty enclosures, normally a sign of success in pet stores, was heartening—many of the smaller pets have been adopted, indicating a community actively engaging in pet ownership.The cats, lounging comfortably in their space, appeared content and well-cared for, a testament to the attentive care provided by the staff. This sense of well-being extended to the reptiles, birds, and fish, each housed in environments that seemed tailored to their needs.The parakeets, in particular, were a joyful highlight. Their vivid plumage and lively chirps contributed to a sense of vibrancy that permeated the store. Observing their interaction, it was clear they were not just well-looked-after but also thriving, a sight that any animal lover would appreciate.

Good! Wish there was a bit more selection with treats and chews but good little store over all and good hours so I can come after work which really helps as I work late. Today we were getting some charlie bear treats for Tanner and I get his limited ingredient food here as well since he is allergic to chicken and beef😳🤦. His coat does even better on this food than it did on costos salmon and sweet potato one so that is saying something. I also get the same brand toppers for his dinner once a week and he goes crazy for it.

Hello My name is Wyatt Lewis, and I’d like to share my experience with my employment at Petsmart. My intent is to not bash the company, but to warn people who are looking for a job. Do not waste your time at this company. You don’t deserve to be used and treated like this. The company lies to you and they pay as much as they think you’re worth. Let me make it clear that I showed them that I wanted every single job opportunity that they offered. In the beginning, I clearly asked them that I wanted to take part in the salon department and the hotel department. I wanted to work with the animals because this is a pet store for goodness sake. Not ever once did they approach me and ask me about training for salon and hotel until I asked them over 100 times. The worst part is that they try to hire people when the whole store is begging for more hours. The simple truth is that they’ll try to hire someone for like maybe like only 10 freaking hours a week (if that) so they don’t have to give you more of the hours and pay you more. I will say that the stockers Kevin and Thomas are wonderful human beings and they truly do care about you and your feelings. Do not work at the company unless you want to be lied to and used for the cheapest amount they can possibly pay you. REMEMBER, you are worth more if you truly want to put in the work. But don’t let yourselfbe treated like you’re worth nothing.Thank you for reading this.

First time doggie hotel customer for both pup and human. Both of us entered nervous and unsure, both of us left super happy and comfortable!!! My pup is anxious and cautious of new people, and he made friends with several people there!!! For him to cuddle with a new person is mind blowing!!! I called to check in on him, and just by his name, they immediately knew who he was and informed me of all his fun and play. They didn't need to look into the system, didn't need to go ask someone. They get to know your pup as an individual. They took his time to get comfy, never pressured him to interact with them till it was his idea.I do not want to leave him again, because I hate being away. But if he must stay somewhere safe and fun, this place IS the place.

Big box retailers have most everything you need for a dog, which b s what we have now. The locally owned store needs to step up their internet game. I was looking for pet scissors. I was able to see what PetSmart had in stock. Not so with the other store.

Terrible grooming service. The groomer was late for the appointment in the morning. Poor customer service skills and attitude, not even an apology was offered for being late. Upon pickup, on the final bill there was a $10 or $15 extra charge added. When I asked about the charge, the groomer told me that my dog was aggressive towards the blow dryer. I have a poodle that had never been aggressive in his life. I'm sure he wasn't thrilled about hot air being blown in his face (what dog would?). But this does not warrant an extra charge.

Skaya loves visiting Doggie Day Camp! She was so nervous at first, but now walks in there like she owns the place. Each night when she comes home, she is completely exhausted from playing with all her fur friends! Everyone there is so friendly and you can tell they genuinely love dogs and cats.

Very disappointed in this place. Dog shedding, requested shedding bath and extra brushing. Got her home and it was like she hadn’t even been brushed out. I will not be taking her back. Even when they brought her to me, one groomer asked the other “did you brush her out”, and a look between each groomer was no. I also scheduled an appointment and 3.5 hours later they called to let me know that she would be ready in 10 minutes and if I could pick her up because she was hard to get in kennel. Not a kennel dog, very gentle non aggressive. btw. I was told if Iwanted to pay an extra fee they would get her in quicker, when asked why did I need to schedule an appointment they told me they always double book., and they get to the animals when they can.?

Everyone in this store is so nice and helpful! Other stores didn’t have in stock what I was looking for, I called ahead and they had it ready for me and helped me out to my car. They went the extra mile and were very friendly

The selection Pet Smart has is outstanding. From Reptiles, Birds, Dogs, Cats, and even fish. I highly recommend. I've always had great service and a positive environment.

I have brought my dog here for grooming, it’s been great.Last phone interaction was super unprofessional ending in being hung up on by the grooming manager Chloe.The store manager was great conversationalist to handle the situation but overall the bad customer service made the decision to never use them again.

I recently adopted Struedel while visiting PetSmart. My 1 year old Tabby was having difficulties adjusting to being alone after my daughter moved & took her pets. Candy from AK Krazy Kats Cat Rescue was amazing and it turns out she fostered my rescue. I only shop at PetSmart because they are friendly, usually have what I’m looking for and great prices. If Nathan is around ask for his help!! He the best.

Overall once we're there, the experience is good. But beware that their "walk-in" grooming services aren't really a thing. This is the third time I've tried to bring my dogs in for a walk-in and was turned away. Not only that, but they couldn't even offer a time that a person who works normal hours could bring them in in the next 2 days. There isn't a way to schedule walkin services online. I get it - there's a shortage of workers, it's super busy, they're doing their best. But then they need to update their offered services to reflect that so that it doesn't disrupt people's day and plans. I could have scheduled this a while ago if I'd known that's what I had to do.

Boarded my smaller-breed dog (Chihuahua mix) at PetSmart and felt like it was a last minute choice at the time. It turned out great from what I saw, and what was written on her report card. The report card is basically a feedback form, including potty, play, temperament. I like it!

Terrible grooming customer service. They falsified my pet biting one of the workers when they never told us that. Blocked us from their services as well. Customer service is also rude, and needs to reevaluate it’s management.

I come here every once in a while for aquarists supplies when I'm close by and need a quick item. The selection of items you can get are pretty decent and the price isn't as inflated as Petco usually. My low score comes from the way the fish are kept. The wall of tanks usually has a dead fish in 40% of them stuck to the filter or pushed into corners, especially the feeder fish tanks, but the staff is usually around cleaning or assisting customers and I don't blame them for not having the time to clean tanks multiple times a day. Last visit I saw multiple fish with Ick that needed to be treated. The betta fish are in a sorry state which is the usual for big chains. Some had fin rot, some had swim bladder disease, and a couple had a large amount of fecal matter in their cup. I've "rescued" five over the years and picked up a sixth this week. This lil guy had swim bladder disease but was very alert and energetic. A few days later and he's doing much better as seen in the pic attached to the review. I know almost all of this is corporate policy and not the choice of the staff who probably wish they could give the animals the care they need. As always the staff is helpful and easy to work with, and I've never heard them encourage bad fishkeeping to curious parties.

I absolutely love that they send pet specific coupons or special offers via email. Other pet stores just send dog and cat stuff to your email. I have two snakes and it’s nice hearing about offers for reptiles.

I really love this store , I get my cat groomed here and the groomers are so kind and they get my cat done faster then I can grab some kitty litter ! There prices are amazing for getting my cat groomed.Everyone is so kind here and my kids and I love coming in and seeing the animals and getting our pet supplies.

Cookies seems nervous when she get there, they took 2-3 hours to get done on grooming and wash, I spent 110$ from all that plus the hemp package which include a special conditional and nail grinding. Much cheaperGreat customer service !

I’m not going to beleaguer you with countless details and examples; but, know they are there! I am going to tell you that based on the experiences I have had going to the different pet shops to get help and guidance with my companions. I’m done wasting my time with their competitors.Last fall I was having trouble with my daughters’ aquarium. After two months of screwing around with the bad advice given by the other stores, a very sad daughter, and four dead fish I was ready to give up. Until I had a single half hour conversation with one of the PetSmart staff, and a ten minute follow up a week later. The employee (all of them really) took the time and invested genuine interest in our family. The problem was resolved and in a short time we’ve gone from losing fish to having a THRIVING population of breeding adults a a set-up that only requires about a half hour of monthly maintenance for cleaning and water treatments!!! I also have a very advanced age dog that we can get all the supplements and special food for. And leashed sociable pets are always welcome in the store so the old man can come in and “help me “ shop for just the right toys😉Good job to all of you. No debate here. You will have my business as long as I live in Alaska. And thank you.

Grooming prices are a scam. I took my 8 month old small dog in 2 times each time to groom. Every time, they charged more each visit!! . Groomer stated how sweet and easy she was to groom.So I went in today they priced $20.00 more thenlast visit. Now telling myDog gave problems to groomer!! Liars I asked the groomer every visit if she was ok. Every visit groomer STATED she was fine no issues.!! It was always the SAME GROOMER. DONT trust these liars! Don't trust these groomers, they give you attitude when talking to them. THEY never smile or talk friendly. I don't recommend these groomers at Petsmart at all!! Even the manager had attitude talking to me.
